He will be back after he is threatened with a few cases.Maryam Nawaz Sharif is consuming the party like termites. They lost another valuable member from their party.
He may or may not be guilty of corruption but at least he has shown evidence of conscience. The shameless Sharifs, Munir and Nadeem have lost all sense of proportion and committed unforgivable sins. There time will comeShahid Khaqan Abbasi will not contest general election
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday announced he would not take part in the upcoming general elections going to be held in February 2024.
Speaking to media persons outside an accountability court of Islamabad, Abbasi said he was pursuing the so-called cases instituted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against him. The senior politician said it was the fifth year that he was facing NAB cases.
He said earlier a case was framed against him and it was eventually closed. The present one also would be closed, he added.
Abbasi said he demanded many times before that cameras should be installed in NAB courts so that people could know about proceedings of the case. He was of the view that the prevailing system was flawed and unable to run affairs of the state.
"Who will be held accountable for the prevailing injustice and tyranny in the country?" he asked. The former prime minister said neither Nawaz Sharif contacted him nor was it needed. He said the same level playing field was in place now which the PTI had when it got power.
He avoided questions pertaining to forming a new party or quitting the PML-N, and said he would not take part in elections.
Earlier, NAB court judge Muhammad Bashir conducted hearing of the LNG reference against Abbasi. The counsel for the former prime minister appeared before the judge.
During proceedings, Abbasi's counsel prayed to court that an intra-court appeal was being heard by the Supreme Court and till apex court's decision, further proceedings in the case should be deferred.
The court adjourned hearing of the case until Feb 13.

SKA is a total hypocrite. He played along with NS and made millions and now he is having a crisis of conscience.Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that he does not agree with the politics of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), ARY News reported on Saturday.
Speaking to media in Lahore, the PML-N leader said he will not contest the general election 2024 whereas he does not agree with the politics of PML-N.
The former prime minister clarified that he has no grudges against PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz as he supported her during the Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir polls.
He predicted that the upcoming elections would result in further confrontation and violence as it lack the trust of the people of Pakistan.
Earlier, the former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi decided party ways with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Sources said the former premier will formally announce his decision in a press conference. Khaqan Abbasi has decided to quit PML-N after consulting with his constituents, they say.
The veteran politician asserted that he would not contest the general elections, terming the upcoming polls ‘pointless’. “I would not contest upcoming polls, but can join new party after the general elections,” said Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
He also announced to support PML-N candidate in the February 8 elections if party gives a chance to a common worker.
Khaqan had previously stepped down from his role as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President and did not attend party’s ongoing meetings related to election tickets chaired by PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in Lahore. He also skipped Nawaz’s homecoming rally on October 21.
It is pertinent to mention here that Abbasi made it clear that his leader is Nawaz Sharif and if Maryam Nawaz elevated to the PML-N’s top office, he will consider remaining in the party’s fold or not.

LAHORE: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that he does not agree with the politics of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), ARY Newsarynews.tv
I think he should have joined PTI otherwise he will end up his political career just like Jahangir Tareen.Shahid Khaqan announces to launch new political party
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday announced to launch a new political party within two months.
During his appearance on ARY News Programme “Sawaal Yeh Hai” , Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that discussion is underway with like-minded people for launching a political party.
“We are also consulting on the ideology of the party and hopefully it will be formed within two months,” he added. The former prime minister said that the current three major political parties cannot resolve the issues being faced by the people.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that there is space for both a new political party and a “new way of thinking” in the current political environment.
He said that the economic issues of Pakistan cannot be resolved without political stability in the country. “The government and the opposition should sit together and move towards constitutional amendments,” Shahid Khaqan Abbasi added.
The former prime minister said that the government itself looks ‘scared and unhappy’ with its mandate. “There is also an element of shame in the government. It is feared that politics would be on one side and national affairs on the other,” he added.
Earlier on March 19, the former prime minister hinted at launching a new political party soon.
“We are holding consultations and groundwork in progress for a new political party,” he said while talking to media representatives outside the Accountability Court . “The country needed a new political party,” he said.
To a question, estranged PML-N leader said that having no contact with Nawaz Sharif, “I am ready to meet him, when he will summon”, he added.

All of this is happening because of Maryam Nawaz because ppl like SKA can't say "Yes Madam" to her on stupid decisions. In my opinion it's a wise decision by Shahid Khaqan to get out of that mess and join another party. For all his boot chaat of the Sharifs, SHA was betrayed by the family. Then suddenly he became an inqalabi and started to speak the truth.
But you got to question this man. He seems intelligent but decided to serve a family and not his country. This humiliation is fully deserved. All of this is happening because of Maryam Nawaz because ppl like SKA can't say "Yes Madam" to her on stupid decisions. True though! but its never too late to find a right path. But you got to question this man. He seems intelligent but decided to serve a family and not his country. This humiliation is fully deserved.
SKA needs to grow a pair and call out Munir for his murder of innocent PKs at D Chowk. Call out Munir and NS for stealing the election. What else is there to talk about.Abbasi urges dialogue with Imran
Former prime minister and APP chief Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the challenges facing Pakistan can only be resolved if Imran Khan and COAS Gen Asim Munir come together for dialogue.
Speaking to the media in Kallar Syedan on Sunday, Abbasi asserted that the country will only progress when public opinion is respected. "The results of Form-47 have reduced elections to a mere joke," he lamented.
He pointed out that the army chief was the "ultimate centre of power in the country", adding that challenges Pakistan faces will only be addressed when Imran and the army chief sit together and engage in meaningful dialogue.
