Personally, am not fond of any Indian cricket player on any level. I've thought long and hard but can't seem to think of any which are a favourite.
However am a big fan of Mary Kom, the greatest female amateur boxer in history. She is a five time world champion and Olympic medalist, had female boxing been eligible for Olympic sport during her prime she'd have won 2 Gold medals.
She came from a very humble background and was very poor, a female fighting was very taboo understandably but she never let that hold her back or the lack of support and corruption amongst the sports governing board. She also fought on despite having many unique challenges as a mother in the subcontinent, I have immense respect for her.
