Future of the UAE after the recent attacks

In light of the recent attacks by Iran, I wanted to reach out and ask for some insight into how things are currently in the UAE. There have been a lot of questions about whether these events have had a lasting impact on the country's future, and if recovery is likely or if there are concerns about the economic situation going forward.

If any of you currently live in the UAE or have family and friends there, I would appreciate if you could share your recent experiences and perspectives.

Having grown up in Dubai myself and lived there until the age of ten, I have a special connection to the place. I still remember walking the streets hand-in-hand with my dad and always feeling that homely atmosphere.

Any updates or personal stories would be very welcome, as it would be great to hear how daily life has been and how people are coping with the changes.

March 10, 2026 (Indian/Pakistani Community)
Work is continuing, business is continuing and things are normal for those who live and work there. UAE Government has advised not to travel or venture out unnecessarily but life is continuing with routine in Ramadhan.

People are going to Mosques, doing Iftaar, doing Taraweeh and visiting each other.

Things are tense and silence does get broken but for the Desi Ex-Pat community, life is continuing with no issues and almost nobody is leaving due to Iran war situation.​

As far as Desi Ex-Pat community is concerned, people have their lives and kids and families and nobody is going to uproot on a whim and leave UAE.

For the past few days, they were under "Shelter in Place" orders.

Everyone I asked is Muslims so they are saying Alhumdolillah.

Things are well handled in terms of safety on the ground and UAE has gone out of its way financially to protect lives, majority expats.

The real hit will come in the coming days when banks stop lending to certain industries ie ports, logistics and real estate transactions drop, inflation etc. Cost of local grocery has already increased and fuel price will increase also.

Iftar, taraweeh, etc have been as normal and Pakistani buffet places get fully booked almost every day in Dubai.

Malls/souks are less crowded as tourists have left, and therefore that homely pleasure (that OP referred to) in strolling around like old-days Dubai is temporarily back.

Once upon a time, Beirut used to be the hub of the Middle East, but was then ravaged by war for the better part of three decades.

The UAE is not immune to such things. Their geography is quite vulnerable for starters, always has been.

Probably will be fine In ShaAllah unless there’s further escalation.

Even though UAE claims to be Muslim it’s really actually neutral territory with rich diversity of expats blended with locals who have settled there for 5, 10, 15-20+ years even. A lot of those folk left places like Pakistan and India where conditions may be even less favorable. As well as the Brits who much prefer UAE than getting stabbed on some random back street in UK.

Optimistic post, and perhaps few may leave. But look at the fleas / leeches of Israel, they have chosen to stay no matter what attacks happen (in the last 70 years with papa and mama helping- otherwise they too always bolted for thousands of years)

The real issues isn't the average citizen who can probably absorb the odd hit to the services, but the corporate businesses which have set up in the UAE. If the security is undermined, will the Emirates still be seen as a future hub where western countries can operate from?

If Iran is neutralized, is there any threat to Western backed coalition?
It’s the last standing country that doesn’t have some form of US presence or influence..in the region(Lebanon and Yemen cannot be counted) after that Zionist money will move back in, UAE to benefit the most in that scenario.. they have the foundation.
