Now that was some phainty by Australia i guess frustration of losing Test series so badly :13:

Highest Total by a team in T20I and also the second Highest Individual score by a batsman in T20I.

This year we have seen 8 T20I centuries already and last time the most in year were 4 centuries back in 2012.

I guess we are not far away from witnessing a 300 in T20I and 500 in ODI :13:

Afridi was the most feared batsman and now the title has passed benn on to Maxwell :afridi

I know people will say pitches are flat, bowling was weak etc. but my God...

Some of the batting talent on show these days is unreal.

Incredible hand-eye coordination. Can hit the almost anywhere at any angle at any pace.

Unstoppable.

The day 500 is scored in an ODI is the day the format should be abolished.

It has simply become an extension of T20 cricket which is unfair.

Each format should have its own identity.

Amazing knock! He is high quality Lois player. Never really understood why Aussie isn't a better International T20 side.

completely agree with this.it's becoming a joke some of these guys can't even put bat to bowl in test cricket.

Seriously reverse-sweeping like that has nothing to do with bat-quality and pitches were excellent even in 2000s ODIs in sub-continent.

People have become used to the extraordinary and are now hating batting skill because they don't realize it's skill change rather conditions changing.

It's really tough for some people to give credit where its due. Flat pitches, mediocre attack, small boundaries, thick bats, etc.. these were not exclusive to today's T20I. This has become more of a norm, yet do we see batsman scoring 100 in t20i's often, let alone 145?

Is it that hard to give credit to a batsman who is not a Pakistani or technically correct test bat?

Maxwell is a beast of a batsman I agree but the match was ridiculous. I am someone who enjoys high scoring T20s but high scoring for me is 180-200. This match was not enjoyable at all.

Wow

I saw the headline earlier today and thought its in some A game as Australia had an A series going on and Maxwell had been dropped from senior side and playing in that series.

Now I saw this thread and saw T20I in title and came to correct it but it turns out it's actually in an international

I actually went to cricinfo to confirm it lol

Lol @ people complaining

if pakistani batsman were making runs like these, you'd all be ecstatic.

Maxwell is scarily good, is an impact player for sure. But this is more of a crap bowling than anything else.

The bowling was utter rubbish by the Lankans, Sri Lanka bowled at least 12 full tosses which were dispatched by Maxwell, Khwaja and Hand. We need to give credit to the way Maxi batted, his sixes were clean strikes, his reverse sweeps were timed to perfection, the placement, the timing, excellently executed. That was the best T20 knock for me. Srilanka's fielding was very poor.

Buttler's sixes are actually even bigger than Maxwell's. Maxwell and Butler in the same team, that will be beastly.

Maybe in PSL, some team should pick Maxwell, Buttler and Afridi. :afridi

Even in slow motion, Buttler's hands moved so fast. I never really "saw" him until this last ODI series.

It's that shot over/through cover to yorkers and full balls that really shows it. The guy barely moves his arms, just flicks his wrists and suddenly the balls rocketed away out of nowhere.

He is a true entertainer. The reason I call him the Australian Shahid Afridi. Just like Lala he will always entertain the crowd no matter what the situation is in the match.

May he occupy his place for long and entertain his loyal fans.

Well done Maxwell.

But pardon me for not having a high opinion of SL bowling esepcially after thry gave legside hack Anwar Ali one freebie after another bowling filth on his pads last year handing us the win in that T20. This particular attack was laughably weak.

Maxwell is one of the world's most dangerous batsman when on song. He has pounded stronger bowling attacks in the past such as Pakistan when they had Hafeez and Ajmal so he's not a minnow basher. The guy has unbelievable hand eye coordination, he's able to hit the ball at various angles.

Super knock no stopping Maxwell when he gets going. Always thought him opening in LOIs is the way to go with the field up but I guess Oz have too many top order options as it is. Fair to say he has sent a clear message to Aus selectors. Although club level attack must be said probably not even that. Still don't get it do they. Half cricketers are not proper bowlers. Fail whale!
