Might go to one of the games with my bro, would be my first professional cricket game.
I am surprised why Canadian PPers arent flocking to these games! Cmon guys world stars at your doorsteps!
Go there, take pics, tell us about your experiences etc!
This tournament has more star power than PSL![]()
yes but hardly any Canadians watching it!
I live in Toronto - who in the right mind will drive 1.5-2 hour in the rush hour from Downtown. The timings are weird. Weekday matches start at 4. It should have been after 7. Plus - the ground is too far even during normal traffic. Which puts off a lot of people including me. They need to build a world class stadium in Mississauga/Toronto. It will take some years to take off I guess.yes but hardly any Canadians watching it!

The person in the right mind will be the one who loves the game and wants to do more than just talk about it.
In the 90's I used to travel 2-3 hours to see the Sahara Cup in Toronto - and when I used to get there, I would find a ground full of people like me. That my friend is passion.
Franchise cricket is not that appealing to masses.
Pak/SL/Zim played in 2008 in the same ground - it was a packed house in almost every match. I went to two matches including the final which Pak lost to SL. If an international match was to take place - lets say Pak vs any other major country. You will see a sell out.
I’m a cricket fanatic - it doesn’t matter how much Afridis or Smiths you put in the same ground - it will not appeal to me unless its an international game. But tell me - in Canada, how many international cricket stars do you see playing in a year?

Majority of people have zero interest in franchise cricket including me.I fly from Bahrain to Dubai to watch PSL. If you gave me an option to drive 2 hours to see any cricket game featuring top stars of the world, I would do that in a blink of an eye

I’m sure you know the sad empty crowd we see in PSL.
Does anyone know if they are selling jerseys or shirts for this league would like to get one if its possible
At the ground I think.
I went other day, it was well organized for Canadian cricket (which is a low bar so if you are from England, you will think its terribly organized, ha). I thought the quality of cricket was good. These were international stars, who we don't get to see often. Edwards troubled Smith with short balls and at the ribs. It was like watching the match in Australia.
It was a enjoyable day of cricket, may go again.
Im watching the last two matches and I have to say that it is almost suspicious that West Indies B should be causing so many difficulties for some of the best players in the world.
Don't want to say this but Sponsors or Investors gotta coup their investment somehow though...
You can see that Agha Salman is a big fan of Saqlain Mushtaq as he has copied his bowling action.
He will ofcourse never be that good, but a decent try. Batting will always be his main thing.
A lad playing for the Windies team - Sherfane Rutherford looks like a good batsman. Perhaps one to watch.

Came in to bat at 3/2 in chase of 216 and smashed 134* off 66 balls to win it![]()
The lad's been recently inspired![]()
Playing at his level considering no top league wants him

Wow. The elite Pakistan cricketers are playing with nobodies.7 Pakistan players to take part in this year's Global T20 tournament in Canada
Vancouver Knights have signed up Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan, and Asif Ali, whilst Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz will play for Toronto Nationals, and Iftikhar Ahmed for Bangla Tigers Mississauga in the tournament.
Greed has no limits.Like I said in another thread, Shaheen Afridi will show up to bowl at penguins if you organize a T20 league in the south pole.
How does Pakistan's premier fast bowler not make enough money through endorsements to say no to these mickey mouse tournaments?
Love it. Hit them where it hurts most…THE POCKETBabar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan have made requests for NOCs for the GT20 league which has now been denied by PCB.

@Mohraheem whats going on here mate?As per reports
The fourth edition of the Global T20 (GT20) Canada 2024 has been in jeopardy as the organizers await official approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The organizers of the league have not paid their dues to Cricket Canada as of yet and thus the apex cricketing body will grant the approval once the issue is resolved.
Details further suggest that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet issued the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the players for the tournament, in light of the ICC’s awaited approval for the event.
The fourth season of the GT20 will run from July 25 until August 11. The six-team tournament will be played at TD Cricket Arena in Brampton.
4 players were sent home from our Canadian league. I think organizers are having issue with sponsors. Should be resolved soon. My uncle had a zoom meeting. The tournament will continue.@Mohraheem whats going on here mate?
