I forgot to put up the review of my GN Legend bag which I got 2 weeks ago.

After purchasing a GM LE duplex wheelie and not being very impressed, I decided to take the bag back and get a GN Legend bag and I am very happy I did.

The bag is massive (100x40x40) and is excellent quality. Has 2 internal padded bat pockets, seperate pockets for shoes and helmet and 2 thermo pockets plus two massive side area's which are ideal for clothes and miscelaneous items, also has a top area which is perfect for spare inners, sweat bands and more. You can customize how you want the bag to be inside as the internal walls are velcroed so you can put a flooring in so the pad's sit in the top part and you can have wet clothes underneath, or you can take it out to accomodate extra gear such as keeping pads and an extra bat. It is a primarly a stand up bag as the bag opens up from the top to access the bat's, pads and glove area, but you can easily lay it down. The bag also has 4 walls all of which have a thick plastic wall to help protect the equipment and retain the shape.

It wasn't cheap coming in at $200 but all the top end bags over here are bloody expensive so it was worth it.

I would say the bag is deffinately tailored towards those who like to have their bag organised as it it isn't a big opening bag, but I like that as I know where everything is and can keep it organised rather than having everything floating around in one area. Never thought I would like a bag so much, but I really, really like it and it is clearly the best bag that GCCC had IMO. The bag alos has interlocking zips for the main compartment which you can padlock, so should I ever go on tour although the padlock would have to be a bit small and could easily be cut by some bolt cutters, but it's handy should I ever want to lock it to protect my bat's and valuables.

Had a couple of comments saying that the bag was massive, but some of their bags looked bigger (more packed) than mine, but I think it's because the bag can stand up and that just makes it stand out a bit.

Pic's, these were taken on the day I got it so not all my gear was in there yet, but I can tell you everything fits perfectly and still plenty of room for some more. Bonus was that the Bag was brand spanking new still in the box.

Bat area, it has one on each side but I only have one old bat so only took a photo of that side. Get my Laver's soon though. Can also see where the gloves go

With some gear in it. Looking at it, it may look a bit crowded, but it deffinately isn't. This is whith the flooring up, without it there is plenty of room for another set of pads

Looks impressive!

Is Legend UK bag same as this?

I second Opener, how does it compare to GM LE?

$200 looks steep but well worth the money I would say!

Your pads are lovely too :), how are you liking them ?:)

I would say that the GM LE probably had a thicker stiching, but it just wasn't for me. I read that the bat cave had basically sanded people's bats when they took them out over and over again, and I got an old bat and tried this and the stickers started to be wiped out a little bit each time, so eventually it would get the bat too. It's the foam that does it.

CD I don't think so, this bag has been out for a while over here and UK Xiphos bag from 2010 was the exact same as this. http://www.prodirectcricket.com/pro...aynicolls-cricket-bags-and-luggage-13709.aspx

Yeah the GM bag was $195 and was smaller than this, while this one was down from $240 to $200 and is just perfect for me, so it was well worth it.

I really like them, nice and light but plenty of protection. Some stiching that was holding the inner padding down came off after the 1st time I wore them, nothing bad and could keep using them, but I wasn't sure about this so I emailed the bloke at GCCC and he got back to me 2 days ago saying that Gray Nics have sent me a brand new pair, so that is quality customer service IMO

I think that the bag would be made in India, but it deffinately isn't made poorly, it is really good quality. The photo's don't do the bag any justice what so ever, it is a superb bag.

Silencer, the pads are the E41 1000le's from over here in Australia and they are really good. They also had some Legend pads which were $40 more, but they were very similar to these only that htey were a tad more slim fitting, but that's not worth $40 so I went with the E41's

Sorry for replying late, your thread had slipped away for me.

Anyways, I must say I like your bag more than Xiphos although both are same but could be because of the naming I guess, Legend sounds better :)).

Wow, I didn't expect that from GN but I don't know but I seem to find GN Australia to be better than GN UK for some reason, but it could be me only perhaps ?

If you compare it to GM LE which one do you think is better constructed etc ?

Cheers mate!

If its not much of trouble for you can you please post review of them ?

Cheers

Legend does sound much better.

I went in and apparently it wasn't because of that, the lining around the instep wasn't that thick pad strap material they usually have it was some thin synthetic material, so I think it was a proto-type which GCCC wrongly put out so GN replaced them. Still very good of them.

I would say the GM LE had a thicker material, but the Legend is still very good in that area plus it has 4 plastic walls that protect gear from damage and the material is padded to further protect the gear should anything rest on it. The Legend bag has many advantages over the GM LE such as the retractable handle, and the fact that it is a stand up bag means it is very good at standing up and can easily be layed down, whereas when the GM bag was a lay down bag that could be stood up and when it was the internal seperator walls would bend and the velcro would come undone.

So all in all, the Legend bag would be 9/10 (wheels are a tad small) in my book whereas the GM LE was 5/10.

Are the e41 pads the ones that khawaja uses?

No, he still uses last seasons Ignite pads. The E41 took over the Ignite range but he must like the Ignite pads as they were very nice.

The e41's are basically the UK Legends but have a full cane face, rather than the foam face and the front bars go 2 - 3 - 2 then side wing, whereas the UK Legends are 2 - 3 - 3 then side wing

I totally agree with this, I remember when I was at NCA in Lahore I saw Kamran Akmal's GM LE kit bag and its internal separator were removed and it was and bent etc and to be honest it looked horrible in my opinion and despite knowing how expensive the bag is it looked a cheap looking bag to be honest.
