What's new

Going forward, the selection criteria should include a minimum strike rate of 100 for ODIs and 140-150 for T20Is as the benchmark

Ive a list from cricinfo from last t20 champions cup and there are atleast 10-15 players who fulfill 150 strike rate criteria. I know there will be objections regarding their technique and quality of bowling in in domestic but we are not going to win with current set of players who fall way below modern t20i strike rate requirements so lets experiment with 150 plus strike rate players, we are losing anyways but this way theres a chance for glory.
Same criteria for 100 strike rate can be applied for odis, i dont care if its shadab or khushdil or even amer jamal promote them to 4 5 positions as we know ball does not swing much after 4-5 overs in white ball anymore so whats the difference, Play them as batsmen only for all it matters but throw these 60 sr players out of the team.
Yes only criteria should be they should be able to negotiate bounce as well as spin, for these two type of pitches still exist in white ball cricket, swing/seam not so much atleast not after 4/5 overs exceptionally in last odi tour of australia but neither can babar rizwan negotiate seam/swing that well so keep it aside.
