Also great to see Jai Bhim as the most searched movie in India for the year. Frankly I didn't expect it to be at the top on a pan Indian level. Shows how much OTT and dubbing of regional movies into hindi has changed the entire cinematic landscape in India. Previously regional movies used to get recognition only within their own regions or on a south Indian level and maybe get feted in national award functions, but would largely be invisible to the hindi speaking masses in India.
However with the digital revolution in cinema and entertainment industry, that big language barrier has been broken by dubbing regional movies into various Indian languages, including hindi and that has expanded the market for regional movies to a pan Indian scale. It's not that dubbing didn't happen in the past, but with OTT, someone living in Amritsar or Shillong can watch a Tamil or a Malayalam movie dubbed in hindi or with subtitles with great picture quality from the comforts of their home sofa, which would be practically unimaginable a few years ago. It bridges a lot of gaps between the hundreds of cultures in a massive country like India.
