While neighbors stumble through instability, India has project itself as the anchor of stability in South Asia, offering not just economic strength but also democratic resilience.

Regime Change year wise in India's neighborhood by foreign power
Myanmar-2021
Sri Lanka- 2022
Pakistan- 2023
Bangladesh-2024
Nepal- 2025.

Foreign power tried it in india but failed. India would've also witnessed similar things. The plan was plotted through Farm Laws protests, Shaheen Bagh drama & CAA-NRC protests.

There are some good Indians but since the RSS baldy yoga orange dress wearing weirdos took over, the land has gone back to medieval times when flying monkeys would run off with others brides.

As a nation it was the richest now 3rd world with no sign of ever getting back to its power and luxury it once had, esp not now with uneducated imbecile like Modi in charge and the next PM being somebody out of the Temple of Doom movie.

Apart from cricket, rubbish at all others sports. Movies are trash and so are any other tv shows.

Now America who Indians have bent the knee to for 20 years is ridiculing them too.

Nobody really sees any inspiration or joy when looking at India.

After humiliation against Pakistan which is much smaller, we will see these silly threads to help cope with the unfolding reality.

Bending over backward continues…

now celebrating over a far from perfect form of government paraded by the west… amongst other types of parades also being adopted by Santani brothers 🏳️‍🌈🇮🇳

That's why PAF refers to India as a MILF
Ok want to derailed the topics then lets goo im here to exposed you.

Indian airforce break Pakistan and liberated the Bangladesh. IAF humiliated Pakistan in all 5 war from 48 to 65 to 71 to 99 to 25 .

IAF has record of LONGEST-EVER KILL in aviation history — 314 km strike on a PAF AWACS during Operation Sindoor.

On topic beyond the jokes I have respect for the Indian system.

They manage to successfully integrate so many disparate cultures languages and identifies into one stable system. It is no easy feat trying to unite so many groups under one umbrella.

No issues calling it worlds largest democracy but mother of democracy is too far given the country is not too old

Only in mother of democracy, you will see Thanos, yes, you read that right, Thanos from avengers registered as a voter. The same mother of democracy where open rigging happens where 100 people have the same address and some even have no address and its simply a “.”

I know indians love their dots, but some people even have their last name as dots or full name as dots in the mother of democracy.

The mother of democracy where the election commissioner shows up to tell people that if he shares CCTV of voters, it will harm the dignity of women. Are they going to vote or change their clothes in voting booths?

The radical hindutvadis which are a huge proportion of indian population have stolen the elections and are ruling their third term with corrupt means.

Amusing to see such desperate posts. India has nothing to be proud of. Most hated people, a proud civilization whose people will sell their mother to leave their country.

Many Pakistani posters have no idea since theres no india obsession in Pakistan but currently their opposition is actively protesting on election rigging. My comments above are from the press briefing from their opposition leader who presented these shocking facts from their election commission data. No wonder the despo sanghis have created another make belief thread. Part of their IT cell job i guess and height of unemployment.

Islamist like you forget that india who gave you and your grandfather a New identity by creating a new nation - Bangladesh :kp
Have you found your own identity yet? “India” is not even the name you guys can own. A name that British gave their empire. Look inwards before even telling other people about giving identity. Pakistanis and Bangladeshis have more shame, at least their names are originals while yours make zero sense, my gangudeshi bud.

It will be changed to Bharat soon.

Infact @Bhaijaan never calls this land as India. He always addresses it as Bharat

South Asia is a bad place to compare, but considering the size of India and multiple cultures it's extremely impressive.
EC might have issues but is still far ahead, a great org that has very good folks working.
Biggest issue remains, the roads in cities will end up being better under a dictator than democracy, our local knowledge of politics esp in our local area is mediocre to say the least, we always think change will come from top leadership.

We Gave you identity also . Your fore father were hindu as well

Sanatan Dharma is more than 5000 years old while Islam is only 1400 :klopp :kp
Islam exists since the beginning. You thinking it started 1400 years ago shows you know nothing about it except for the word Islamist which doesn’t mean anything :wenger

Nice joke btw asked Shadab khan sasur , who openly once admits his grandfather was a Hindu. This is the most case for Pakistan but they are afraid of accepting the truth.

What do you think is the problem with having a converted (to Islam) parent or even a person themselves converts to Islam? Do you think they are regarded as someone inferior who is not?

All of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) were converts of Islam.

My parents werent Hindu. Alhamdulillah. I am a Mughal, see my pfp, we are the sword of Tamerlane, were your masters before British became your masters. Show some respect. All the culture you kang on. The food, the architecture - its all given to you by your Mughal overlords. Do you really think bunch of ghareeb veg eaters could create amazing food like biryani or a wonder of the world - Taj Mahal?

You have nothing positive of your own. A borrowed name India from your British masters and a culture that borrows from Muslim rulers Mughals.

And even if my parents were Hindu, and nothing against Hindus btw, all respect to my fellow Hindu Pakistanis or anywhere in the world. Since you brought it up, i would have been glad that they saw the light and came out of darkness.

They see world with their lensview of casteism. And hence somehow try to mock South Asian Muslims as “converts”. Its the same way when some white nationalist post the picture of bacon thinking it offends Muslims.

Both things dont and it just shows how ignorant our opponents are.

Neither is bacon kryptonite for Muslims nor there is any concept of convert/original since literally every Muslim is a convert.

Islam has been since the day of Adam, to Abrahim to judaisim, to christanity to the final message - Islam.

I guess thats why some folks use the word revert, which makes sense too.

Will the regime change happen in India in 2026, or in Afghanistan first in 2026 and then in India in 2027? :rabada2

It seems impossible in India right now, as the number of low-IQ people outweighs those with higher IQ. :yk :inti

India remains a beacon of democracy in a region increasingly engulfed in political turmoil.

The lawlessness in Nepal is only the latest reminder.

Bangladesh has been mired in Islamist chaos since the U.S.-backed ouster of Hasina.

In Myanmar, U.S. aid to anti-junta rebels risks destabilizing India’s vulnerable northeast.

And Pakistan remains a dysfunctional state where the military dominates politics.

:kp

The same mother of democracy where open rigging happens where 100 people have the same address and some even have no address and its simply a “.”
Do you know how many voting centers does India have?
~1.05 million voting centers in 2024. Last year, one candidate tried rigging in the Andhra pradesh in one voting center and guess what he was arrested the next day. He lost it landslide.

All the leading voting centers are live casted in television news during vote polling. There is almost negligence chance to win through rigging as
1. It has to be done across many voting centers and it literally is impossible.
2. Votes are matched against government identity. So, each centers votes will be limited. And overall vote-count can also be easily compared to votes polled.
3. Fake voters list can easily be obtained as voters list is given to all party members. To change the fortune of elections, they literally need thousands of fake voters in each constituency which is next to impossible in India.

You don't even live in India yet claim rigging. This is what happens when you close your eyes and bring your own delusions to justify why you failed.
The mother of democracy where the election commissioner shows up to tell people that if he shares CCTV of voters, it will harm the dignity of women. Are they going to vote or change their clothes in voting booths?
What are you on about?
Except during voting, most of the polling is literally live telecasted. Only during polling time is a candidate alone which is to secure his privacy on whom he/she may vote for.
The radical hindutvadis which are a huge proportion of indian population have stolen the elections and are ruling their third term with corrupt means.
Call what you may but elections in India have been fairly a legitimate process. If the elections were rigged, even BJP would not have needed additional support from other parties to form government. This argument is so illogical that BJP despite rigging could not get a solid majority in UP, the flag bearer of Hindutva yet somehow managed to cover the deficit in Delhi.
India has nothing to be proud of. Most hated people, a proud civilization whose people will sell their mother to leave their country.
India can be proud of the fact that they lifted millions of people out of poverty in India. We are an ancient civilization ravaged by many wars and colonial impacts, yet getting fairly well despite the diversity.

Do you have any data to back up that Indians are most hated?
Selling their mother to leave? Net immigration in 2024 in India is 640K while Pakistan is 1.1m+. Do you understand who is leaving the country in hordes?

Will the regime change happen in India in 2026, or in Afghanistan first in 2026 and then in India in 2027? :rabada2

You claim to be an Indian, yet you want political instability and riots in your own country. How stupid that is?

And you calling others Low-IQ😂😂

There is already a bit of incumbency as visible in the last elections. BJP barely got the majority.
What congress really needs is to get a good leadership. If we take Nepal as an example, Congress has been the flag-bearer of Nepotism. What has Rahul gandhi achieved in his life apart from being a Nepo Kid?

So, revolution already has taken place when Congress led by the nepo-kids has been booted out. Sadly, we are lacking alternatives.

This fool plays the game by reservations and caste system, yet he doesn't get called out.

you lack comprehension skills? I just asked a question, where did I say I want riots?
Am I missing something?

You are rooting for a similar regime change in India as that happened in Bangladesh and Nepal. What do you expect? A fairytale ending?

The forced regime change only led to instability, civil war and riots.
Who is the one lacking comprehension skills? You or me?

I already said it seems impossible because people like you are in abundance in India. Not sure why you are getting triggered. Nothing is going to happen, so relax and go back to school. :yk :inti

We both know your undertone.
I am just exposing you for what you are.
Hiding behind a ‘?’
Really, is that the best you can do? Lol.

LMAO, I like how the less active posters show up just to try exposing me, only to end up with egg on their faces, then they return with another user ID and repeat the cycle. I haven't even started, and you are already getting worried about 'the best I can do'?

The issue with the subcontinent is that on average people are of lower than average IQ levels. The hierarchy of IQ levels across the globe is as follows:

1. Ashkanazi Jews
2. East Asians (Chinese, Japanese, etc.)
3. White
4. Middle Eastern/Central Asian/Subcontinent/South American
5. Sub Saharan African

This is why the subcontinent has done poorly compared to other groups.

they think Islam genuinely was invented 1400 years ago 😂

Islam is the Arabic name.

But what it is is submitting to The One Creator, who sent all those prophets peace be upon them, who spoke whichever language their nation spoke, ending with Prophet Muhammad PBUH who was sent for all, not just one nation.

People didn’t start worshipping Allah 1400 years ago, that’s what they don’t understand… the nations before may have called out to Him by other names, but it’s still Him, SWT. Prophet Isa / Jesus PBUH language was Aramaic from what we know and in that language God is Alaha / Elah and is so in current Aramaic manuscripts of the Bible too

Yeah we saw how functional India was when they trampled their own during rcb. They are literally the definition of Watch where you are going 🤣🤣

I guess a key question for non Muslims is who did Jesus worship? If you can answer that correctly, you will understand that Islam has been there since the beginning.

The same God who requires human submission and Islam directly translates to submission of God and a Muslim is one who submits.

Christianity, Judaism, etc. all are named after humans or places.

Only Islam is unique.

Thread title Mother of Democracy reminds me of the classical film Mother India.

The country still looks pretty much the same today.

I get your lack of education / Knowledge on India recently but that doenst mean you continue on this false narrative.

You posted an extreme and below is another extreme

India actually looks neither and its somewhere in between. I am refraining of posting comparative videos of India vs Pakistan Tier-1 cities but it’s not even remotely close. Despite our issues, infrastructure in cities is largely conducive to grow at >10% y-o-y

Mother of a democracy Sanatinis at a cow dung throwing festival:

How sick are these people? and we have Sanghis here going gaga over their third dung throwing country
I am from Andhra Pradesh and never heard of this before. Just googled it to know about this. Thats literally how regional, some things can be India.

And that proves the point. While some people may like it or not, if its not harmful, people have the right to celebrate it. And that vindicates the largest democratic nation in the world.

This is Muharram celebration in Hyderabad. And for an outsider, it is bloody and scary. Yet, they are celebrating freely.

Should we call it sick as they are beating themselves to the point of getting bloody?
Try to get past the bigotry!!

Imagine being a Bangladesh talking about stench

Care to respond for the below video?

Having a stable political scenario being the biggest democracy in the world is better than anything.

People who are from banana republics but migrated to Western nations that they hate the most will criticize at anything.

The Mother India image wasn't meant to be taken so seriously, try to develop a sense of humour, it will help you cope with life challenges better. Posting videos comparing an Indian city favourably with a Chinese one just makes you look defensive. Do you want me to post some more realistic videos of what life is like for the vast majority of Indians?

If I post videos of Islamabad or Lahore would you believe that every Pakistani must live in paradise? India is a third world dump, no amount of spin is going to convince anyone otherwise.

After making that 'lack of knowledge on India' comment, you went ahead and displayed your own lack of knowledge on India in your very next post. :yk :inti

OP is right though.

Pakistani supporters of Imran Khan should also agree with this — we all saw how he was ousted from power and put in jail. We’ve seen similar patterns in neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, etc.

India is the only country in the region that has remained a strong and healthy democracy. I’m not saying there are no loopholes in it, but it is certainly a model for all other South Asian nations.

I will agree with this. India has done a much better job than its neighbours especially controlling its military under a civilian government. Political stability is extremely important for progress. Even more remarkable is despite its size and population.

You not only lack comprehension skills but also common sense.

You take 2 different posts and combine them without Context to push your narrative.

If you truly live in India, then you would know that the regional festivals are so many that it can change for every 300 km. So, according to you, to get knowledge on India, one should grasp all the regional attributes??

Infact, what I also said was that, the poster generalized that India looks the same and shown him that, India is so vast that it looks differently from region to region.

Such a shame that people are lacking common sense!

Does humor applies only when you troll?? One doesnt need such senseless humor to cope as there are better ways to deal with challenges by improving ourselves.

I already told in my post that, there are parts of India, that are reeling in Poverty and other regions where the infrastructure development is on par with many global cities. And the truth is somewhere in between.

You were the one who generalized the so called ‘looks like Dump’ scenario in India, yet when countered, I was sounding defensive?

My point remains the same: educate yourself about India before preaching to others. And stop resorting to the same tired 'comprehension blah blah' replies when you have run out of arguments. Be creative. :inti #TheAnonymousDone

Greece is the official mother of democracy.. how much ever I might dislike pushing white history, Greece did have ideas ahead of its time.

In Greece, if you are a man and once you turn 18, you have to serve army for minimum 1 year. You dont have a choice unless you have some disability. Not a sign of great democracy and respecting people's choice isnt it?

It’s a mother of a democracy , in any country we don’t have so many choices.
In India in many states we can’t eat beef, no free speech etc etc

Biggest example:Income Tax

Technically, the US is the oldest continuous large-scale democratic nation, where citizens have elected their leaders under a written constitution.

Indian police investigate Vijay's 'overcrowded' political rally as 40 people die

A case has been filed against TVK's senior leaders after the party said it was expecting 10,000 people, "but the actual crowd was more than double".

Police in India are investigating after 40 people died in a stampede at a political rally that officials said was much larger than expected.

The tragedy happened in Tamil Nadu as actor-turned-politician Vijay was campaigning for his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party ahead of state elections early next year.

Detectives have filed a case "against TVK party senior leaders Bussy Anand, Nirmal Kumar and VP Mathiyalagan, and the investigation is under way", senior police official V Selvaraj said.

"TVK originally sought permission for a gathering of 10,000 people, but the actual crowd was more than double," he added.

Ma Subramanian, Tamil Nadu's health minister, who said "there was indiscipline" at the rally, announced on Sunday that the number of deaths following the event in the Karur district had risen by four to 40.

At least 124 people who were injured have been treated in hospital.

Mr Subramanian said 36 victims were dead by the time they reached hospital on Saturday night and four more died later.

Nine of the dead were children, he said, adding that the injured were largely in a stable condition.

Vijay, whose full name is Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, was one of the southern Indian state's most bankable stars for three decades.

He said he was "heartbroken" by the stampede, pledging support for the victims' families.

Vijay's rallies have drawn massive crowds since he launched his party last year.

He was supposed to address the rally around noon but arrived more than six hours late, by which time the heat was stifling, according to S Sabesan, a 42-year-old textile businessman who was there. He said by that time, a large crowd had packed surrounding roads.

Mr Sabesan said a lot of barricades and ropes were placed around the venue "for crowd management", but the crowd became so large that "nobody could control it".

Local media video showed Vijay throwing water bottles from the top of his vehicle to fainting supporters during the event, and calling for police help when the crowd became uncontrollable.

Lawyer R Rajendaran said a commotion began when Vijay tried to leave, as "hundreds of his fans and supporters chased his vehicle".

"That is what led to the stampede."

Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin announced compensation of one million rupees (£8,400) per family as the state appointed a commission to investigate the cause of the stampede.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X that the incident was "deeply saddening".

Another badly planned even in India

Nine murders, 33 attacks on Indian journalists in 2025: Free Speech Collective

Around 3,070 instances of internet shutdown, blocking of apps and 785 blocking orders were issued by the IT Ministry to various online intermediaries in the months of January and February 2025, says Free Speech Collective.

Nearly 15,000 instances of free speech violations were recorded in India in 2025 with Gujarat topping the list with 108 violations. Gujarat was followed closely by Uttar Pradesh (83), Kerala (78), Assam (62) and Jammu and Kashmir (51). In southern India, Karnataka recorded nine instances of free speech violations, followed by Andhra Pradesh (7), Tamil Nadu (6) and Telangana (5).

The data recorded by the Free Speech Collective’s (FSC) tracker also notes that 11,385 instances of censorship and 208 mass censorship and criminal cases were registered in 2025. The murder of eight journalists and one social media influencer and the arrest of 117 citizens also took place this year. The censorship figures recorded by the tracker also include mass requests made by the Indian government to withhold over 8,000 accounts on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) in India in May and another 2,354 accounts in July.

Censorship and Twitter

FSC’s report also notes that the withheld X accounts could be higher in view of the social media platform’s request to the Karnataka High Court challenging the Sahyog portal. ‘X’ stated that they received 29,118 government requests to remove content between January and June 2025 and complied with 26,641 of them. X’s Global Government Affairs Team announced in May 2025 that they had to block over 8,000 accounts on X following complaints at the Sahyog Portal.
“The ‘X’ accounts of news portals The Wire and Maktoob Media, Kashmir Times editor Anuradha Bhasin, The Indian Express Deputy Editor Muzameel Jaleel, political content creator Arpit Sharma, Reuters, and others were withheld in India,” FSC’s report noted. These accounts were withheld in view of the Pahalgam attack.

The Sahyog portal was set up by the Union Home Ministry in 2024 to remove “unlawful online content” by centralising communication with social media companies and online intermediaries under the Information Technology (IT) Act, 2000. The portal, however, has been used by both central and state authorities to block free speech and to take down all kind of criticism.

“Around 3,070 instances of internet shutdown, blocking of apps and 785 blocking orders were issued by the IT Ministry to various online intermediaries in the months of January and February 2025,” the report read, noting that India’s ranking in various global press freedom indices has fallen in the last few years.

“There were 40 attacks, of which 33 were on journalists. At least 14 of the 19 instances of harassment and 12 of the 17 threats were recorded against journalists doing their professional work,” the report further read while noting the deaths of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar and YouTube news creator Rajiv Prathap in Uttarakhand.

FSC noted the death of nine journalists in total in 2025. Two deaths were reported in Uttar Pradesh, while one death each was recorded in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Odisha, Uttarakhand and Punjab.

Instances of sedition

The report mentioned that three satirists – Neha Singh Rathore, Madri Kakoti (aka Dr Medusa) and Shamita Yadav (aka Ranting Gola) were charged with sedition for their posts online questioning administrative and intelligence failures in connection with the Pahalgam attack in April 2025. Following the charges, Neha Singh approached the Allahabad High Court for anticipatory bail but was denied.

In August 2025, Assam police registered an FIR under sedition against The Wire’s founding editor Siddharth Varadarajan, consulting editor Karan Thapar, ex-governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Meghalaya Satyapal Mailk, former CM of Punjab in Pakistan Najam Sethi and editor of The Wire Hindi Ashutosh Bhardwaj. The FIR was a result of The Wire’s reporting on the Pahalgam attacks. In August, journalist Abhisar Sarma was charged with sedition by Assam police for his YouTube show, where he had reported on the controversial land deal given to Mahabal Cement by the Assam government. Comedian Kunal Kamra was also charged with criminal defamation for a joke against Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde.

Caught in association–contractor dispute, Bengaluru apartment workers go unpaid

The disruption to payments has unfolded amid a dispute between Candeur Signature apartment association, where the workers are employed, and Unix Conglomerate Private Limited, which provides labour services.

Left with no wages for nearly two months, workers employed at Candeur Signature apartments in Bengaluru’s Varthur area gathered outside the gated community on Wednesday, December 24. The payment disruption unfolded amid a dispute between the apartment association and the labour service provider, leaving workers engaged in housekeeping, gardening, garbage disposal and other jobs, without money for food, rent or medical care.

The protest followed 12 days of work stoppage. Workers, most of whom are migrants from West Bengal, Assam, Bihar and Nepal, said they were repeatedly denied entry into the premises despite being formally employed at Candeur.

Many said they were walking five to six kilometres each day from their homes, only to be turned away at the gate. The uncertainty has worsened the mental health of the workers, with one of them attempting death by suicide.

Women workers also raised concerns about being denied access to the washrooms inside the premises. “We are women, but we were not even allowed inside the apartment premises to use the washroom. We cleaned their homes every day for several months, but now they act like they don’t see us standing here every day,” said Kashmira, a worker from West Bengal, who called the experience deeply dehumanising.

‘No money to pay rent, no safety’

Over 40 workers are employed at the complex, which houses 1300 apartments. The workers are hired through Unix Conglomerate Private Limited, a facility management service provider operating across Bengaluru. Each worker earns about Rs 15,000 a month. The dispute between the apartment association and Unix has left workers to bear the immediate consequences.

Following the dispute and non-payment, many workers were forced to vacate their rooms due to non-payment of rent. Sangeetha, a worker from Nepal, said she had been living alone before she was asked to leave her room. “I am staying with a friend for a few days, but if something were to happen to me, who would be responsible for my safety?” she asked.

While some workers managed to find temporary support, others were left with no options. Parjoy, a worker from Assam, said he had no relatives or acquaintances in the city. “My landlord forced me to vacate. I do not know anyone here, and I have nowhere to go,” he said.

The delay in wages has also compounded existing personal crises.

Mrityunjay, from Uttar Pradesh, said his five-year-old daughter was hospitalised with a high fever. “Without my salary, I could not afford her treatment. I had to borrow money from friends and family just to pay the hospital bills,” he said.

Workers said the prolonged uncertainty had taken a severe toll on their mental health as well. They said one of their colleagues, Ramesh, had earlier attempted to take his own life after repeated delays in payment.

“That is how bad things have become for us. The company informs us that the society has not paid them, which is why they can’t pay us. How is that fair?” said another worker, Malik, adding that the fear and desperation continued to loom large over the group.

“We are being forced to bear the consequences of a fight between the apartment association and the management company,” said Ghanshyam Yadav, a worker from Bihar. “Our work has already been done. Our wages cannot be treated as collateral damage in a commercial dispute.”

Labour Department refuses to step in

R Kaleemullah, a Bengaluru-based activist who works with migrant labourers, was present at the protest and said that institutional responses had offered little relief. He stated that a letter seeking intervention had been submitted to the Labour Department, but the officials declined to accept it. “They said the workers do not come under their purview. Even if that is their technical position, these are still human beings. How can the government turn away after the issue has been brought to its notice?” he asked.

Kaleemullah said the police had also refused to register a complaint, directing workers to approach the courts instead.

The lack of housing, workers said, remained their most urgent concern. “It doesn’t matter if we don’t get food to eat, but shelter is what matters,” Ghanshyam said. “How can we survive without a roof over our heads?”

Kaleemullah said attempts to engage with lawyers representing the parties involved had been equally dispiriting. “We were told a decision would be taken only after the court gives its verdict. Everyone knows such cases can drag on for years. How are workers expected to survive without pay until then?” he asked.

“This is not just legal apathy; it is moral apathy. The labour has already been extracted. Withholding wages while waiting for a court order is indefensible.”

Unix shifts blame to association

Responding to the allegations, Unix Conglomerate said the non-payment of wages was linked to delays by the apartment association following a change in its managing committee, but acknowledged that workers had now gone without pay for nearly two months.

Muralidharan K, the company’s public relations officer, said the association had been “consistently delaying our payments for the last three to three-and-a-half months,” adding that the firm had continued paying workers despite late remittances. “For us, our employees matter. Even when payments came on the 24th or 25th, we still paid salaries by the 10th,” he said, but admitted the company had now “reached a saturation limit”.

Unix said the situation deteriorated after the association issued a termination notice in October and withheld dues for the notice period as well, despite what the company claimed was a court direction to clear payments. The firm denied allegations of invoice discrepancies, calling them “purposely created”, and said it had repeatedly offered to accept partial payments so workers could be paid.

“Whatever you want to hold, hold a small amount and clear the rest,” Muralidharan said, adding that workers were being “dragged into a fight between the previous and present association committees”.

On workers being denied entry and basic facilities, Unix said the association had engaged external agencies in violation of a status quo order. “The women workers were not even allowed inside to use washrooms. This is the kind of cruelty they are putting on our people,” Muralidharan said.

However, despite claiming to have held dozens of meetings with residents and officials, Unix said it was yet to receive any payment as of December 25, leaving both the firm and its workers in distress. “Our people have worked. They have to be paid,” he said.

Association claims delay is not new

Meanwhile, the Candeur Signature Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) said the contract with Unix was terminated due to dissatisfaction with the overall quality and reliability of services. Ram Chandra Patidar, the association’s president said a one-month termination notice was issued as provided under the agreement on October 26 after repeated service-related concerns were flagged.

He added that even before the termination, workers had been approaching the association alleging delayed salaries. “The termination followed due process under the contract, but the problem of workers not being paid existed even before that,” he said.

However, when TNM spoke to the workers they said this was the first time that payment was delayed.

According to the RWA, security staff were unpaid for two consecutive months, September and October, leading to strikes as early as mid-October. Ram said workers repeatedly sought the association’s intervention after salaries were delayed. “This was happening well before the termination notice was issued. Workers kept approaching the association because they had not been paid for two months,” he said.

Ram added that the RWA offered to directly pay workers if Unix provided written consent and revised its invoices accordingly. “We were ready to release wages immediately to 30–35 workers if the contractor agreed in writing. But that did not happen,” Ram said, noting that invoices were later revised after discrepancies were flagged. He added that under the agreement, the association has a 30-day window to clear payments from the date of a valid invoice.

“I strongly supported direct payment to the workers. If Unix had agreed in writing, we could have paid all 35 workers within a single day. Unix chose to escalate the issue instead, sending legal notices, approaching the court, and orchestrating strikes. Ultimately, while payment to Unix will be made as per contractual obligations, our concern remains whether the workers will actually receive their salaries,” Ram said.
