Hope ZTBL can get the remaining 70 or so runs.

Imagine a team called Ghani Glass in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy :ibutt

Mohammad Umar going nicely is good to see, from skimming through the scorecards seems to be one of the tournaments top wicket takers; he’s been involved in betting for the last couple of years which I imagine he turned to due to the lack of pay.

One of the few genuinely quick bowlers in Pakistan.

Ghani Glass is one of the entrepreneurial success stories from Pakistan. Started from scratch to become one of the biggest glass manufacturers in Asia. Nice to see private enterprises taking interest in domestic cricket other then PSL.

No issues with Ghani Glass, but the problem is the team names.

Not just Ghani Glass, but this applies to all departmental teams. Which casual cricket fan is going to support SNGPL or Habib Bank? Team names should be based on regions, not departments.

there is a seperate tournament for reigons. Department take care of their players hence they thrive if regions can stop nepotism they can also do well.

Nope. Last season in QeA, there were 8 regional and 8 departmental teams.

I am not disputing that departments provide benefits for players, but for fans, departmental teams don't really have any significance. Are people more likely to support Faisalabad, or SNGPL? I'm talking about casual fans here. There's no sense of belonging for fans when teams have corporate names. Look at the top domestic first-class competitions around the world and you'll see that teams have regional names. We have to try and figure out a way to move towards that in future.

Why is Hasan Mohsin being treated so bitterly?
In a completed 3 days match has bowled a grand total of 4 overs and didn't bat even once.

Is this the way to treat promising youngsters?

Disappointing to say the least!

What makes this whole scenario worse is the fact that Fawad Alam is the captain of Karachi and I always believed him to be one of the sensible cricketers in Pakistan domestic cricket.

Btw, the title says "ZTBL win by 5 wickets" whereas the scorecard us for Karachi B vs Abbottabad, did Karachi B win the tournament or are there some matches left?

Wow Zulfiqar Baby and Abudl Reshma; who are these beauties

This is absolute mess - why these players are allowed to play in junior grade, which isn't serving either purpose!!!!! Lower tier is to serve two major purpose - first to draft young & unknown talents, so that some of them can be promoted to top tier gradually. 2nd is it's a phasing out scope for some aging cricketers - gradually they'll retire from FC/Top tier and move to junior ranks for couple of years before moving into coaching or other career. That buffer is good in a sense that they can transfer their vast experience to younger players, so couple of 40+ players are not bad in such tournaments.

But, here I see regular FC players playing, who has nothing to prove, achieve here apart from quantity - lots of low standard cricket, which is physically demanding, but skill wise hardly benefiting players like Saud, Asghar, Yamin, Muzammil or Zia. No active FC players should be playing in such lower league, rather instead of 7 game season, PCB should expand the QeA trophy into double league so that 14 games are played at some standard. Besides, they are arranging premier tournament in the worst possible season and lower tier in much better weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
