Growing anger in Gulf over Muslim bashing in India

They are still on it and finding out more about the ugly face of Hindutva. These are not some random twitter accounts. They are TV anchors, lawyers and some have up to 200k followers. Good exposure of the state of affaris in India.

Translation:
To all the tweeters in the Arab world, by God, your support for your wronged brothers in India and Kashmir is worth a lot and a lot.

Imagine being a reason to stop this massacre.

He said ﷺ “Whoever thinks of you that he is denounced, let him change it in his hand.

What a moronic and despicable people. Anyone who supports and defend these Jai Shri Raam chanting goons is NO different than them. My blood boils after watching these videos.

I hope they get treated the same way sooner or later.

Honestly many of the links they are sharing turned out to be fake news. For instance I think the Om symbol story was found to be fake, he did it to himself to catch some attention. Similarly the medical professionals one. If they want to expose Hindutva violence, there are enough credible stories.

Yes .. but when its twitter agenda driven it’s a different situation... you can share and create an idea and let that idea grow irrespective of its being incorrect..because there are other news to confirm the bias.

It’s a concept BJP-IT cell excels in at as well, remember those whatsapp forward messages and forward emails that happened from 2008-2014? Nehru being a Muslim etc..

Some of the videos though despicable and disgusting do not automatically mean it has a communal angle to it. For example these two videos could be seen as a general case of mob lynching popular in India.

I don't understand the language the mob is speaking so perhaps those who do can better tell what's going on.

Agreed!

There is no point in going overboard and sharing unauthentic news just to vilify the opponent in the long term it only hurts your own credibility and reputation.

Guys stop sharing videos here which have graphic content.

Use your judgement.

Seems like extremists Indians on social media tried to bite more than they could chew. Some extremist Hindus were changing their location to a gulf region and posting hateful comments just to incite the locals.

Read what this Indian doctor has to say about what happened:

Very good message in the final tweet. Will the Modi ji devouts listen to Modi ji when he tells them to stop the hate?

Something very fishy about this Dr Roshan Character. I know Indians that were born and raised in the GULF all of them have said Arabs look down on them now this guy is saying the opposite. Hmmmm what doesn't add up here

Interesting character indeed.

However, since he doesn't seem to follow the Hindutva ideology, maybe he isn't an "asli" Hindu. Perhaps, one of those "sickular" guilty of Deshdroh.

I am on the phone with a gulf born and raised Malayalee as I type this. He is reiterating to me that Arabs are very very racist and discriminatory, I showed details to this Roshan person to him and he thinks there is a small chance he might have been the very rare sub continentals who the Arabs don't look down on. Who knows, this Roshan guy is a malayalee from kerala after all, so he will die for the abhrahamic movement even if he is a hindu, hindus in Kerala don't have any love for hinduism, so he will criticize anything hindutva, so there is that chance as well. All in all, I believe the hindu extremism shown on social media in the Gulf by 'supposed Indians' has Pakistani finger prints. There is no way Gulf Indians which are flooded by South Indians would instigate hindu extremism, it is not only suicide but against their principle.....

So who do you think are the guys that recently got fired from their jobs and kicked out of Dubai? (As per media coverage at the start of this thread).

Are you suggesting that those were actually Pakistanis in Indian disguise (or South Indian hypnotised by the ISI)?

People like yourself and your buddy joshila will go to every length to justify and defend the wrong doings of the Hindu extremists.

The plot is getting clear now. First Pakistanis are hiding behind South Indian names to post anti-Islam content online and then the same Pakistanis hide behind fake Arab twitter handles to criticize the Indians in Middle East. Master stroke by the ISI.

I should have placed a disclaimer on my post earlier. I meant to write 'may have Pakistani fingerprints' I believe Joshilla already proved some of the accounts were fake.

Lol what. Why would a Hindu have love for Abhrahamic movement and no love for his own?

You dont know hindu Malayalees from Kerala, just leave it for another discussion... :))

But a guy who's lived abroad all his life knows :))

My sister-in-law is from Palakkad. Next time I speak to her, will make a note of calling her an Abrahamic wolf in sheep's clothing :cobra

What do you have against abrahmic mallus ? :))

You do realise it is a two-way traffic here .. there are hindu festivals in Kerala like Onam that most abrahmic mallus celebrate as well.

Did I say I had anything against abhrahamic malayalees ? I just pointed out their love for the abhrahamic faiths, majority of the Gulf Indians are Malayalees and they would never post any hindu extremist agenda in the Gulf with Social media, if they did, I would be very surprised... Also Joshilla has shown that a few of the 'supposed' hindu extremist activity on social media originating from the Gulf was not Indian.

Criticising hindutva doesn't equate to hating hinduism, that is what a bhakt would say ..

Btw hindus from kerala are the model that other hindus should follow if you ask me - they are sensible, mature and not blind idealogues. Hence they're still the only state to keep the BJP out :)

Not the only state :inti

Actually the only state. Tamil Nadu, the bihar of south india, has too much casteism apartheid and fan club culture fulled by tasmac outlets to be a role model.

All states in India have castesim problem. Don't bring your North Indian comparisons to me.

Criticizing hindutva does not make you a Bhakt agreed, hindutva itself is not a racist or a discriminatory ideology, if it is practiced correct. However the hindu extremist have other ideas when it comes to the hindutva way of life.

Kerala is very sensible, as you will see the majority population which are the hindus, are very secular and accepting. However if you go to Mallapuram and Kozhikode etc where the muslim population is high you see a different mindset, you already know what I am getting to here I am going to assume. However the good thing is that hindus of Kerala does not mind this attitude from the muslims and will totally put up with it on a smiley face in places like Mallapuram and Kozhikode, so all is well.

What would have been the scenario if Muslims were in the majority in Kerala, I wonder.....

This whole thing has been quite interesting for the following reasons (and I speak as someone who has been following Gulf-indian relations since Babri incident)

1)With exception of Kuwait, citizens in other 5 Gulf nations are expected to mirror their govts 100% without any deviation in terms of speaking about other countries.....

2)The videos in recent weeks from Gulf has always been from fringe members , none of them are popular figures who tend to use tweets after being directed by the authorities to project a particular message or deviation.
For e.g. Morocco was very close to Saudia and UAE, but in recent years, many popular tweeters have tweeted negatively about Morocco, later it was found out the 2 govts were falling out and hence tweets became an informative weapon

3) Now, there is no way these fringe people (like the Princess who is from a royal family far less in importance now (the Qawasim) than they were in 19th and early 20th centuries) would tweet in opposition of the message the governments are trying to project

What could be the reason given the recent 100% alignment between govts of UAE and India??

As we saw with so many cases, Modi and UAE govt were on 1 page on most issues

There are 2 IMO

1) Do you know BR Shetty?
He was a prominent Indian businessman and close to many important Arabs, but somehow fled with 6+ BN US$, from Dubai to India. He funded BJP also , and I can imagine a scene where Modi is asked to extradite Shetty but he refuses

2) In recent weeks, UAE authorities and media has been criticizing India for not taking back thousands of it citizens stuck after the pandemic. Pakistan initially refused but later agreed to take back citizens but India is not budging.
This is the first time in years that UAE media (in unision) is speaking against Indian govt. Gulf News always made snipes at India but that's coz its main editor is a Bahraini with links to Pakistan. Khaleej Times and National would never criticize Indian govt until this pandemic.

My sense is that the videos targeting RSS and Hindutva, were "allowed" by the authorities in a way to pressurize Indian govt. in a soft way.
And the reason they used people not 100% popular is they did not want to brand the more popular public figures (like Dubai Crown Prince), with an anti-Indian image.

In India takes back its people tomorrow, the criticism will also disappear.

But nothing like that witnessed in Tamil Nadu. The caste wars in tamil nadu is the reason other ideologies like marxism, dravidian movement have failed and hindutva struggles to gain a foothold. even the bjp understands that and wants to start with mobilising the scheduled castes. ( l murugan was appointed the bjp state president). TN is a hell hole of caste apartheid unseen anywhere else, where streets and temples are out of bounds for dalits, and the OBC kill dalits. Not to mention the support for terrorists of the defunct ltte.

OK Boomer.

Perhaps I'm generalising. I have met many arabs from north africa and the ME who were lovely people. and are lovely people.

However we cannot deny that there is a strain of racism in arab society against non arabs. It has always been there from the beginning.

My point is that they would find it quite easy to discriminate against Hindu Indians for various reasons. Therefore Hindus in the ME should be speaking out against this fascism and rejecting it completely.

I am not even sure Hindus in the middle east are the ones spreading the anti-Islam stuff, although when you have online anonymity it is easy enough to present a docile image in public, then let loose the cyber warrior online. But my suspicion is the ones who indulge most in this type of behaviour tend to be western based Indians, and those in India itself. You see them constantly trolling on Muslim sites, and Pakistani ones in particular.

joshila bhai can attempt to deflect by claiming these are ISI false flags or whatever, but the sheer volume of hatred online, and the election of a Hindutva govt all tell the real story.

These Jai Shiri Ram videos are really ugly. They also reinforce the culture of mob mentality and bullying which led to the tragic killing of the three Sadhus lately. If India is really interested in honoring the their death it should look into crubing this mob justice culture instead of looking for ways to benefit political from it.

The focus has long shifted away from migrants in Gulf writing anti-Islam stuff to the very anti-Muslim nature of BJP, RSS and the atrocities committed by their followers. It was bond to happen if one was interested in finding out the root cause of the widespread anti-Muslim sentiments.

Can't thank MA Jinnah enough. Larka proper love hai, saved us from that hell hole of a country.

In an undivided India balance of power would ve been different and we wouldn’t be witnessing this sort of intolerance and open hatred by the majority. Partition has only weakened the position of muslims in the Subcontinent.

With geopolitical changes worldwide in 1940s Partition was the only practical formula. Had anti-partition brigade of Muslim Leaders rallied behind Jinnah, that would have prevented these atrocities of RSS on Indian Muslims.

Interesting quotes of the BJP leader Ranjit Bahadur Srivastava:

"In the past five years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made attempts to break the morale of the Muslims. Vote for PM Modi if you want to destroy the breed of Muslims."

"get ready to face consequences if you do not vote for the BJP"

In case someone wants to give the guy the benefit of doubt and thinks he must've been misquoted or his quotes taken out of context here in this video he was asked about clarifying those remarks:

His logic: to decrease the hatred and division in the country and to increase the unity, the Muslims should shave their beards and return back to their "original" identity. After shaving their beards Muslims would somehow automatically come back to Hindu religion. Growing beards is something Hindu ancestors of today's Muslims copied from Prophet Ibrahim. I love how he says the Islamic blessing "alehi salam" when mentioning the Prophet's name, subtle love.

I only have this reply for him:

Another gem at 0:58 : " Aaj Pakistan ke jeetne par koi yahan tali nahi bajata hai, yeh modi ji ko hi credit ja raha hai"

Trans: No one in India claps for Pakistani team when they win, Modi deserves credit for that. Now we know why certain Indian players hesitate to congratulate Pakistan on its win. There is a strategic movement behind it.

Another gem from this intellectual Ranjit Bahadur Srivastava:

Muslims keeping cows is love jihad: Barabanki BJP leader

Barabanki BJP leader Ranjit Bahadur Srivastava also said that Muslims should adopt the Hindu religion to end the divide between two religions.

JP leader Ranjit Bahadur Srivastava on Monday in a controversial statement said that cows belonging to Muslims should be taken away from them at any cost. He also said that Muslims keeping cows is also a "love jihad".

"Cows in the houses of Muslims should be taken back. When we consider girls from our homes going to their homes as 'love jihad', shouldn't we consider 'gau mata' going to their homes 'love jihad' too? This is love jihad. Cows should be taken back from them at any cost," he told ANI.

Srivastava said that cows are essentially Hindus and that they should be cremated in accordance with Hindu rituals.

"Cows are like our mother. We should conduct the final rites of our cows as we do to our mothers. We will create a cremation site for cows," he said.

He also said that Muslims should rear goats instead of cows. "Goat is their mother. They should opt for goat rearing. Why do they rear cows? This is love jihad. I am against it," he said.

The BJP leader said that Muslims should adopt the Hindu religion to end the divide between two religions.

"Muslims when they came to India most Hindus converted into Islam. Looking at this, they are like our brothers and they should come back to their old religion," he said.

Goat is like mothers to Muslims? Since when? Muslims eat Goat and Cow meat alike. The keep cows because of their milk and in the end the meat tastes different than a lambs.

They have taken the western coined term "love jihad" for a phenomena that emerged during ISIS's prime time and have started to label every little thing as "love jihad".

Muslims players in Indian team? Cricket Jihad!

I always thought "Islamophobia" is a buzzword mostly used by Muslim apologists to avoid any criticism on Islam or Muslims. However, seeing the state of affairs in India I have come to the conclusion that BJP leaders suffer strongly from Islamophobia and have successfully managed to spread it among their naive followers.

Ranjeet-Bahadur-Srivastava.jpg

BJP leader Ranjeet Srivastava in the red Jacket with his not so "secular" and asli Hindu supporters.

If this is the intellectual level of Hindutva leader one can only wonder what goes on in the heads of their followers. It's obvious the leaders are using fear mongering and twisted narrative to garner support and spread hatred.

An unpopular opinion but I have been wondering the same recently.

At the same time before BJP came to power 10-20 years ago, people were giving examples of how good Muslims in India have it and that the fear politics that led to the partition of British occupied India was wrong. Just shows how difficult it is to predict the future.

It's also funny how Hindu extremists would have never wanted the partition of British occupied India in 1947 but now they have turned out to be the main beneficiary in India. It plays perfectly well with their fear and hate motivated politics. "Muslims took away Pakistan from us !!!! If you don't want the same to happen again then vote for BJP!!!"

Exactly. Some BJP bhakhts and apologists will try to tell you it was same 20 years ago also. :inti

RSS was formed as an opposition to Muslim League so yes they benefitted from Muslim League’s actions as well also the reason why BJP leaders like Advani and Jaswant Singh (wrote a book) love Mr. Jinnah , they made their careers due to his actions.

RSS,BJP is equivalent to ML.

The only two decent central parties in South Asia in history are Congress and PTI that will not pander to majority but then many will call it minority appeasement.

PTI is lucky politically in a sense that it already got a Muslim majority country where religion is not a big factor but ethnicity is, in India it’s both so Congress has to mind ethnic and religious divisions.

What is the source of your knowledge?

Also what is your opinion about Q-e-A?

Now what to say we are in pandemic but still we are fighting Hindu-Muslim,it's time to be together for a moment whether you are extremists or not.

We have already gone through this I know you love Mr. Jinnah’s proposal of reservation.

ML is BJP for me, same face, no thanks.

He proposed communal veto. So laws will only be passed if agreed by both hindus and muslims. Excellent idea for a secular state and would have killed any majoritarianism. Congress opposed that. Although now Congress in sprit is in favour of communal veto ( eg anti CAA). It was another matter that Q-e-A himself didn't implement communal veto for minorities in Pakistan.

But you didn't answer. What is the source, which books have you read on this topic?

You might find this interesting. When the Congress party launched the Quit India movement, the Hindu Mahasabha was busy collaborating with the British and running coalition governments with the Muslim League in Bengal, Sindh and the NWFP.

No need to be embarrassed. But you should read and read more. Don't be satisfied by one line historical summaries without any context. An example right above this post.

So when the Congress was anti muslims, the Hindu Mahasabha was an ally of muslims? Congress had a long history of collaborating with the British. What is your opinion about that?

I’m not embarrassed.. its my biased opinion.. i feel like i told you this 1 year ago.. and then you asked how you formed your opinion and etc etc

1 year is a long time, but seems you spent it strengthening your biases. Read more to have a more informed opinion. Don't be like other indians who have an opinion without having knowledge (recent example being the CAA, when those who had no knowledge of the constitution were swearing by it). Somehow I feel you haven't even read mohandas karamchand's auto biography.

Yeah I have read that , i think Pakistani posters will be more shocked reading that..
Swashbuckler always runs away when countered.

Do you know mohandas collaborated with the British for a long time. And he was opposed to demanding independence from the british for the majority of his political life.

These "facts" mean nothing without the complete picture.

In an undivided India balance of power would ve been different and we wouldn’t be witnessing this sort of intolerance and open hatred by the majority. Partition has only weakened the position of muslims in the Subcontinent.

We have no way of determining if things would have panned out as you say they would have. What we do know is that majority Indian Hindus always held acrimonious feelings towards Indian Muslims which often bottled up into lynching and rioting etc but for 70 odd years India was ruled by secular minded and non-extremist Congress who managed to keep a lid on this hate. Now that extremist BJP is in power this underlying hate is coming to the fore and with full support of the government machinery.

Even in undivided India, Muslims would still have been a minority of about 600 million vs 1 billion Hindus (as per today's population figures). This is enough of a minority to be consistently out numbered in elections, thereby allowing parties like BJP to rise to power.

So my point still holds, thank you Mr. Jinnah we can never thank you enough.

I don't know Gulf people. They most likely have their share of racists. However, to discredit the Dr who seems to be a well accomplished person just based on his one line is like looking for hair in the soup.

The Pakistani trolls exist and are cringe worthy. Anywhere anti-India issue is raised you can be assured that Pakistani trolls will jump the bandwagon too.

In this case though we have a very good idea of how things progressed. Gulf police started actively going after social media posts insulting Muslim and anti-Islamic sentiments which is against the law there. This gave BJP and RSS fans on social media the idea to change their location and overload the Gulf social media sites with anti-Muslim post. Their idea was that the cyber police would become overwhelmed and give up on going after their fellow Deshbakhi violating the law of the land they are residing in.

One fine example of this case is this guy with around 100k followers:

This took off around 11-12th April and when the backlash was too big to handle the narrative changed to blaming Pakistanis and ISI.

NOTE: The purpose of showing a few examples isn't to humiliate India as a country and Indians as a nation. It is to provide food for thoughts for those who haven't completely bought into the Hindutva ideology and eaten up the narrative that it's the real representative of kattar Hindu and Deshbakhti. What is this Twitter Jihad by Deshbakhts and Kattar Hindus?

Thanks to them Arabs are finally waking up to the situation in India and Kashmir. Something Pakistani leaders and establishment failed to accomplish in past few years.

The Malayalee Dr could be legit, and Arabs are waking up to the wrong situation imo. If Arabs take it out on the Indians in the Gulf region, they would be making things hard for all the malayelees who don't support BJP, which in a way; BJP would look at as a good thing.

Those malayalees who are anti BJP may turn pro BJP due to what the Arabs do, influencing the secular hindu malayalees in Kerala, so once again this is not working in the favor of Indian muslims.

Hindu extremism is something I will never ever support, however I would not want to live in a muslim majority either, as muslims in majority wont let the minority survive especially in the sub continent.

This is what I have always been frightened of due to bigots in power.

So many bigots claiming to be hindus. They are not...Not by a long shot. True Hindus can never talk of harming anyone, let alone a fellow human.

For now the gulf Twitter handles are reacting sanely and able to understand the different between a common Indian/Hindu and Hindutva extremism.

No one has high expectations from Arab leaders. At the very least I am happy that the unchecked extremism spread by Hindutva and Kattar Hindus is getting some international attention beyond South Asia. A better awareness about the injustice going on is enough.

I can assure you the Arabs are having a more than close enough look at the matter. Those fake tweets by Hindutva followers which were meant to overwhelm them only made them more committed. Initially they were just discussing deporting Indians living in Gulf who are insulting Islam and Muslims on social Media, but now they are having a real close look at Hindutva and RSS ideology and it's implications.

For instance the following statements that has caught their attentions weren't from some unknown fake accounts.

Outside South Asia, the rest of the world including the Arabs had a distorted view of India and Hinduism. The one popularized by Gandhi ji and Bollywood. It's about time they become aware of the India of the 21st century with its Kattar Hindus and real Hindutva. If nothing else comes out of it, at least the facade is broken.

People still hung up on a few tweets by unknown/little known arabs.

Posting tweets by Indians in India. Lol. They dont follow foreign laws, nor will anyone force them to.

Nobody is even talking about this issue in Indian media circles or forums . Only a few Pakistanis are getting over-excited at the prospect of Arabs uniting against Hindutva lol.

Don't know from where you got your idea of true hindus. True hindus can very well talk of violence. Violence has a place in hinduism.

If that's true, why are you here posting about it? Anyway, I don't even know why you guys are getting defensive about it. Are you scared of upsetting the Arabs? True Hindutvas would stand proudly behind their anonymous identities to tell the Arabs in no uncertain terms what they really think of them.

I don't know if it has been posted or not but cricketer Manoj Tiwari was bashed on twitter(check out the replies) for simply wishing Ramadan Mubarak. It is horrifying .

Too many nobodies out of the 1billion, having Twitter fun while indulging in open defecation. There's nothing you and me can do to control that, so best not to make a big deal about what happens in the Indian Twitter/IT cell world.

An unpopular opinion but I have been wondering the same recently.

At the same time before BJP came to power 10-20 years ago, people were giving examples of how good Muslims in India have it and that the fear politics that led to the partition of British occupied India was wrong. Just shows how difficult it is to predict the future.

Not sure if you ever lived in India but let me tell you something from my own personal experience. Most muslims in India never considered or loved India as their own country. Since independence, hoardes of muslims stayed back in divided India, enjoyed all the benefits of a secular nation (which they should) but never really accepted India from their heart. I must also add that this behavior was mostly evident with muslims living in Northern or Eastern part of India while South Indian muslims were much more patriotic. Never lived in western parts of India...so cant comment.

As a kid I used to live in a small town in Bihar and there were lots of muslims in my area who were our good friends...used to play with us etc. But they all used to absolutely love Pakistan and hated India. I am not kidding....until I got little old, I used to honestly think they are actually from Pakistan. If Pak beat India in a cricket match....they used to openly celebrate with firecrackers. Not only that...they used to celebrate even when India lost against other teams. Still remember that infamous whole night celebration when SL beat us in 1996 semi finals. Ofcourse now under BJP/Modi era, people would not dare to openly support Pakistan and everyone wants to be politically correct with so much social media scrutiny around. But no such thing back then....it was all on open. That was the kind of liberalism congress had set back then where liberalism meant openly hating India. I will never forget those glorious days and I dont need any twitter account to tell me what is the truth in India.

Don't close your eyes.

These reactions were not seen 10-15 years ago.
There must be a reason why something that was not prevalent 10 years ago is happening now.
