This girl, a huge fan of MS Dhoni from Germany, attended the match between Chennai and Lucknow.

I had a hard time explaining it to my friends that I neither know her and nor sent her. :))

Punjab batsmen have not been playing with sense, they are going to much attack cricket.

Chennai should look to bat out there 20 overs here ,so that there run rate does not get too bad.

T20 nomad Liam Livingstone justified his Rs 11.50 crore price-tag with a smashing all-round show while rookie seamer Vaibhav Arora announced his arrival on the big stage during Punjab Kings' comfortable 54-run decimation of Chennai Super Kings in an IPL match here on Sunday. Livingstone with a 32-ball-60 laid the platform but Chennai Super Kings bowlers made a brilliant comeback at the death, restricting Mayank Agarwal led side to 180 for 8 after 20 overs. Later, little known Himachal Pradesh seam bowler Arora (4-0-21-2) performed as if he owned the stage, dismissing Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali with CSK managing only 126 in 18 overs at the end of the chase.

After his batting, Livingstone (3-0-25-2) then became man with a "golden wrist" as his leg breaks got him a couple of wickets and he also took the final catch to cap off a dream night.

This is CSK's third defeat in as many games and unless Deepak Chahar makes a speedy comeback, things aren't looking great for the 'Yellow Brigade' and its de-facto skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

A couple of more defeats could really put them under huge pressure and within a sniffing distance of point of no return.

Arora got good support from his former SD College Chandigarh teammate Arshdeep Singh (2/13 in 2 overs) during the initial period in which his skipper Agarwal bowled him out. Rahul Chahar (3/25 in 4 overs) was steady during back-10 and his three wickets included the wicket of Dhoni.

Arora didn't do anything fancy apart from pitching it fuller with the hint of away seam movement occasionally.

Uthappa tried a flick while Moeen without any distinct footwork dragged a delivery well outside the off onto his stumps. Skipper Ravindra Jadeja also met the same fate due to lack of feet movement.

In a jiffy, CSK were 36 for five before Dhoni (23 off 28 balls) joined Shivam Dube (57 off 30 balls), who did entertain the Brabourne crowd with lusty blows but it was always a game of catch-up for them.

Dhoni's oft-documented struggles didn't do any good for CSK either as Dube had too much to do in too little time.

Fittingly, it was Livingstone, who capped off a fine day, removing Dube with an away going delivery and then dived full stretched off his own bowling to remove Dwayne Bravo.

Before his exploits with the ball, Livingstone, one of the most destructive T20 batters across global leagues, finally came good with five fours and an equal number of sixes, sending the CSK bowlers on a leather-hunt during the initial overs.

Deepak Chahar's absence has severely handicapped Dhoni's (the 'real skipper') options as rookie left-arm seamer Mukesh Choudhary (4-0-52-1) paid dearly for his inexperience coupled with jangling nerves.

There were 100 metre plus sixes off length balls and Livingstone would often shimmy down the track to disturb the length as he did with the wily Bravo. Even the thick edges went for six with CSK bowlers looking clueless till he was there at the crease.

In fact, Bravo, under pressure, forced Dhoni to stand up to the stumps in order to prevent Livingstone from charging down the track but that hardly deterred him from playing his strokes.

What would disappoint Dhoni more is the fact that CSK gave away only 71 runs in the back 10 with a lot of credit going to their troika of overseas pacers -- Dwaine Pretorius (4-0-30-2), Dwayne Bravo (3-0-32-1) and Chris Jordan (4-0-23-2), who used variations to good effect.

In fact, bulk of the 55 dot balls came in the second half of the Punjab innings.

Livingstone and Shikhar Dhawan (33 off 24 balls) added 95 for the third wicket in just 8.4 overs and it seemed that another 200-plus total was on the cards.

By the time Dhawan was fooled by a Bravo slower ball, Punjab had laid the platform, scoring 109 in the first 10 overs, which sadly the later batters couldn't capitalise on.

But once Livingstone was out, the 'Reds' couldn't maintain the momentum although Vidarbha's Jitesh Sharma (26 off 17 balls) with his audacious strokeplay showed why he is so highly rated.

He should be handled well here. He shouldn't be compromised for pace.He should bowl fast as he could.

Umran should not be criticised even if he goes for runs he has only started bowling recently with hard ball.
India should handle him with care and stop him playing these stupid t20s.

Badoni...impressed.

Not often I get carried away but this 22 year old kid looks like a top batsman. Need to bat higher up the order.

Everyone cannot bat up the order. Have you seen who are the batsmen batting up.

Sunrisers need 88 runs in 60 balls.

A couple of big overs required here to ease off the pressure

Four of the last ball , will ease the pressure on sunrisers , they need to find a boundary every over

Likes the way SRH keep losing.. hopefully they'll lose every match this year..

Avesh Khan returned with four wickets as Lucknow Super Giants defended 169 to defeat SunRisers Hyderabad by 12 runs in the 12th game of IPL 2022 season at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Jason Holder also took three wickets for LSG in his first match for the franchise. Earlier, Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram steadied the ship for SunRisers Hyderabad with their 44-run partnership for the third wicket, but as soon as they started to gain an upper hand, Krunal Pandya got the better of Markram and Tripathi.

Earlier, while defending 169, Avesh Khan had gotten Lucknow Super Giants off to a perfect start as he dismissed Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma. Earlier, KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda played knocks of 68 and 51 respectively as Lucknow Super Giants posted 169/7 in the allotted 20 overs.

RCB need 82 runs in 42 balls.

This match will get interesting if RCB can get some big shots

After this 6 overs to go

Boult has 1 over , Chahal has one over , Prasidha has two overs

They have to get saini to bowl two overs somewhere , RCB will look to attack him

With Virat Kohli deciding to step down as captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after the end of last season, there was a lot of chatter regarding the franchise's next captain. However, ahead of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), RCB bought former South Africa skipper and Chennai Super Kings' batting mainstay Faf du Plessis at the mega auction. The franchise also named him the captain of the team for the ongoing season. RCB have played two games so far, winning one and losing one.

Du Plessis, especially, has received a lot of praise from fans and fraternity for his batting and captaincy so far this season.

However, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has said that he doesn't see anything special in du Plessis as far as captaincy is concerned.

"Virat has quit leadership and Du Plessis has taken over, so he will lead in his own way. I am not a huge fan of Faf du Plessis because I don't see anything (special) in his captaincy," Akhtar said during an interaction with Sportskeeda.

Akhtar further said that du Plessis doesn't look sharp as a captain on the outfield, adding that the player has a point to prove.

"Having said that, Faf has a point to prove. At times, he doesn't look that sharp during his leadership. He has been given the responsibility of leading a huge franchise, so let's see if he is able to revive their fortunes," he added.

RCB narrowly lost out to Punjab Kings in their first match, but came back strongly to see off the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their second game.

IPL 2022 | 26 March - 29 May | Matches Discussions

For me personally, that was the partnership of the tournament so far. T20 cricket played the way it is supposed to be played. What a joy to watch was that passage of play, those few overs. Well done to Karthik and Shahbaz, what magnificent hitting! Wow!

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) emerged victorious for the second consecutive time in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 by defeating the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 4 wickets on Tuesday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Match-defining knocks from Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed powered RCB to a memorable victory as they chased down the target of 170 in a high-octane clash.Chasing 170, RCB openers – Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat got off to a confident start.

Both du Plessis and Rawat hit four fours each in the powerplay and RCB were 48-0 after 6 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal, who was introduced into the attack in the 7th over, broke the opening partnership after RCB skipper holed out to long-on. RCB lost track of the chase after they lost three crucial wickets in the span of two overs.

First, opener Rawat was caught behind for 26 off Navdeep Saini’s bowling. Later, in the 9th over, Virat Kohli was run-out for 5. On the very next delivery, David Willey was bamboozled by Chahal, who disturbed the timber to scalp his second wicket. RCB scored 15 runs off the 12th over after Shahbaz Ahmed hit two sixes and a four. However, RR continued to attack with the ball as a fantastic diving catch from Navdeep Saini brought an end to Rutherford’s innings.

Dinesh Karthik, who was the next man in, changed the course of the game with his outstanding counter-attacking shots. The right-handed batter clubbed three fours and a six against Ashwin in the 14th over. The following over by Saini conceded 16 runs. Karthik was timing his shots to perfection as he added two more fours to the total.Shahbaz Ahmed on the other end played a fine supporting role as the fifty partnership was up for the duo.

With 28 required off the final three overs, Shahbaz Ahmed smacked a four and six each against Boult before he was cleaned up by the left-arm pacer. The equation was down to 15 off the final two overs as Dinesh Karthik wrapped the chase in style and remained unbeaten on 44 off 23 deliveries while Harshal Patel hit the final six to take RCB home.

Earlier, the Rajasthan Royals, who were put in to bat first, remained unchanged from the previous game. RR lost an early wicket in form of Yashasvi Jaiswal after David Willey knocked the off-stump to dismiss the left-handed batter for 4. RR batted cautiously, thanks to some fiery pace bowling from the RCB seamers and were 35-1 at the end of 6 overs, with Padikkal and Buttler at the crease. Buttler was dropped twice in the 7th over and the batter capitalised on the opportunity by smashing his first maximum of the innings.

Both Padikkal and Buttler smacked a six each as the fifty partnership was up for the second wicket. It took a special catch from Virat Kohli to break the partnership and Padikkal was dismissed for 37. Hasaranga joined the party to take a crucial wicket of Sanju Samson after the RR skipper was caught and bowled in the 12th over.

Shimron Hetmyer hit consecutive boundaries to get off the mark but Harshal Patel and Hasaranga did not let the momentum slip away from RCB by bowling dot balls. After 16 overs, RR were 107-3 before Hetmyer struck a maximum and added to fours to the total. Jos Buttler reached his half-century in the penultimate over by smacking consecutive sixes against Siraj.

RR hammered 23 runs off the final over after Buttler clobbered 2 sixes while Hetmyer smacked the final delivery for a six as RR concluded their innings with a total of 169-3.

Brief Scores: Royal Challengers Bangalore 173-6 (Shahbaz Ahmed 45, Dinesh Karthik 44*; Yuzvendra Chahal 2-15) beat Rajasthan Royals 169-3 (Jos Buttler 70*, Shimron Hetmyer 42; Harshal Patel 1-18) beat by 4 wickets.

Looking forward to watch Baby AB bat, whether he is good enough for this level or needs more polishing.

As soon as Rohit is made captain, he gets injured, then craps in previous IPL and continues to crap in this IPL. Kohli also looks finished.

India has to look for alternatives.. Gill, Shaw etc.

But they won’t, they will continue to run their vehicle with deflated tyres.:ssa2

Lol Shreyas simply can't play short ball to save his life..Isko Australia mat bhejna..he will struggle there.

KKR top order has been very poor , a few games they will win on individual brilliance, but overall not a solid team to bank upon , Maccullum was a reckless player and as a coach also he has instilled the same insane batting culture in the team.

Lol Shreyas simply can't play short ball to save his life..Isko Australia mat bhejna..he will struggle there.

He was a good player , but the over-aggressive coach staff is the main reason for KKR struggling , batsmen not building partnerships

KKR are over dependant on Russell to win them games , he may win 3 - 4 games maximum in a season , but rest of them should be able to do something , that is why KKR is such an inconsistent team.
