STAT: 89 is the joint-highest opening partnership for SRH not involving David Warner. Parthiv Patel & Shikhar Dhawan scored 89 vs KKR in their inaugural season in 2013. (SRH have 14 higher opening stands all of which involved Warner)

Pathetic by CSK. They got lucky last year as the tournament got moved to the UAE with pitches more conducive to their style of play.

Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi played knocks of 75 and 39 respectively as SunRisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets in the 17th game of IPL 2022 season at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 155, SunRisers Hyderabad got off to an excellent start as openers Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma put on 89 runs for the opening wicket and this stand was ended by Mukesh Choudhary as he dismissed Williamson for 32.

However, Tripathi and Abhishek ensured that Hyderabad cruise to a victory. Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja played a quickfire cameo of 23 runs off 15 balls to help CSK post 154/7 against SRH.

For SRH, T Natarajan and Washington Sundar returned with wickets while for CSK, Moeen Ali was the top-scorer as he played a knock of 48 runs.

CSK innings never got going as batters kept losing their wickets after getting in. In the end, the franchise had to settle for a score more than 150.

150 is not enough against any team in IPL , Mumbai are at least 25 runs short of fighting total here

Surya has brought back MI in the game but RCB looking good with no wickets after 8 overs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 7 wickets in match 18 of the ongoing IPL 2022 season at the MCA Stadium in Pune.

Rawat was on a rampage before he got run out. For RCB, Anuj Rawat starred with a fine half-century while Virat Kohli also played a 48-run cameo. Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav smashed an unbeaten 68 to rescue MI from a tricky position to post a total of 151 for six against RCB.

After being put into bat first, MI had got of to a bright start in the powerplay. However, Rohit Sharma was removed by Harshal Patel before MI suffered a top-order collapse, courtesy some fine bowling and fielding by RCB.

Wanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel have taken two wickets each so far while Akash Deep has also picked up a wicket each. Earlier, won the toss and elected to bowl against MI.

At the toss, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis confirmed that star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will make his season debut, replacing Sherfane Rutherford. For MI, Jaydev Unadkat and Ramandeep Singh also make their debuts, replacing Tymal Mills and Daniel Sams.

The IPL playing conditions amend this law which makes it irrelevant, a bit embarrassing on RCBs part...

Delhi Capitals: 1 Prithvi Shaw, 2 David Warner, 3 Rovman Powell, 4 Rishabh Pant (capt/wk), 5 Sarfaraz Khan, 6 Lalit Yadav, 7 Axar Patel, 8 Shardul Thakur, 9 Kuldeep Yadav, 10 Mustafizur Rahman, 11 Khaleel Ahmed

Kolkata Knight Riders: 1 Ajinkya Rahane, 2 Venkatesh Iyer, 3 Shreyas Iyer (capt), 4 Sam Billings (wk), 5 Nitish Rana, 6 Andre Russell, 7 Pat Cummins, 8 Sunil Narine, 9 Rasikh Salam, 10 Umesh Yadav, 11 Varun Chakravarthy

Pant calls heads, tails it is, KKR will bowl.

In yesterday game, the ball didn't hit the bat or pad simultaneously. Clearly it was shown that one frame before it hit the pad and that is when it passed the bat, there was no signal in the meter. So, it was clearly out.

Bit funny start to KKR innings (it's bit late to post anyway), first ball by fizz vs Rahane and huge appeal for keeper catch and umpire given out only to turned down by DRS, 2nd ball now appeal for lbw and umpire again given this out and again turned down by DRS.. And in 3rd ball Rahane actually nicked one but nobody appeals..

IPL 2022, KKR vs DC Highlights: Delhi Capitals Beat Kolkata Knight Riders By 44 Runs

IPL 2022, KKR vs DC Highlights: Kuldeep Yadav bowled brilliantly as Delhi Capitals defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 44 runs at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.

Earlier, Chasing 216 for a win, KKR started in a nervous fashion and soon lost openers Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane for 18 and 8 runs respectively.

However, Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana batted beautifully to help KKR get back in the game. Rana departed for 30 runs while Shreyas was dismissed after scoring a fifty.

Batting first, fifties from Prithvi Shaw and David Warner helped Delhi Capitals post 215/5.

DC got off to a brilliant start as Shaw and Warner added 93 runs for the first wicket.

Shaw departed for 51 runs while Warner was dismissed for 61 as KKR pegged DC back in the middle overs.

Rajasthan Royals (Playing XI):

Jos Buttler, Rassie van der Dussen, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson(w/c), Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Kuldeep Sen, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal

4 overs of Ashwin will be key , if he bowls well here and gets wickets RR will have some chance

Is that Anushka Sharma clapping for Chahal after he takes de Kock's wicket?

Another good delivery, one more dot ball RR to Win.. can stoinis do a Tewatia..

After losing big hitters Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal and Rassie van der Dussen as they fell to 67-4 in the tenth over, Rajasthan promoted Ashwin up the order to number six. Ashwin was promoted above Riyan Parag to help his side rebuild, with Parag considered Rajasthan's finisher.

And the veteran all-rounder proceeded to share a crucial 68-run partnership with the dangerous Shimron Hetmyer. However, during the penultimate over of Rajasthan's innings, Ashwin, who is not noted for his big hitting, retired out having made 28 at a strike rate of 121.73.

That left Parag with a maximum of ten balls to try and up the ante alongside Hetmyer. And the 20-year-old struck 8 runs at a strike rate of 200, largely justifying the decision to retire Ashwin.

In the end, Rajasthan posted a first innings total of 165-6, with Hetmyer finishing on 59 not out. And the decision was widely praised by former players, with ex-England captain Michael Vaughan tweeting: "Retired OUT .. love it .. rajasthanroyals #IPL2022"

Former West Indies quick Ian Bishop labelled it a "fascinating" decision, writing: "Ashwin retired out is fascinating T20 tactics. T20 is causing us to rethink the way we conceive the game of in the 21st century."

Ex-Australia captain Lisa Sthalekar said the tactic "makes a lot of sense", tweeting: "Retired OUT….it was only a matter of time we saw it in the #IPL2022 Makes a lot of sense."

When asked about the decision following the end of the innings, Hetmyer said: "I literally have no idea about that retire out decision from Ashwin. I just turned around and saw him sprint off. It was a good decision in the end."

Ashwin is just the fourth player to have ever retired out in a T20, with Shahid Afridi the first to do so after blasting 42 off just 14 ball during a tour match for Pakistan against Northamptonshire. Sunzamul Islam also retired out in a Bangladesh Premier League game between Cumilla Warriors and Chattogram Challengers, while Bhutan's Sonam Tobgay is the only player to have retired out in a T20I having done so against the Maldives in 2019.

Rajasthan Royals survived a late Marcus Stoinis onslaught to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by 3 runs in the 20th match of IPL 2022 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

LSG were on the backfoot after losing six wickets inside 16 overs and Marcus Stoinis tried his best to take LSG over the line but Kuldeep Sen delivered a fantastic last over and he defended 15 runs in the final six balls.

LSG had lost skipper KL Rahul first ball as he was bowled through the gate by Trent Boult and in the same over, the left-arm seamer removed K Gowtham to give Rajasthan Royals an ideal start. Prasidh Krishna soon removed Jason Holder and LSG lost three wickets inside the powerplay. In the end, Chahal returned with four wickets while Boult took two.

Earlier, Shimron Hetmyer was at his blazing best as he scored 59 runs to help Rajasthan Royals post 165/6 against Lucknow Super Giants in the 20th game of IPL 2022 season at Wankhede Stadium.

Ashwin also chipped in with a knock of 28 and the Royals made a brilliant tactical move as Ashwin was retired out in the 19th over
