Looks like there are probably 70k people in the stands. Looks almost full. What is the capacity of the Eden Gardens.

Match in critical stage , Butler is looking cautious but if he explodes , it can make a big difference.

Strategic Timeout is a total scam and it sucks momentum out of watching the game.

As a consumer, we have the right to call out on such scam.

IPL 2022 | 26 March - 29 May | Tournament Discussion

I salute McCoy who bowled a superb 19th over to leave 16 required off the last over, despite being carted all around the park prior to that in the entire match. With the exception of Bumrah, the problem with all of these Indian bowlers is that they lack the confidence to defend even 36 off the last over, let alone 16. They all look like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Poor, very poor from Prasidh. Also, I expected better from the spin duo of Chahal and Ashwin.

Miller.... Wow, what a player! I don't remember ever seeing him bat so well in a tournament of cricket in any format or any level. Great clean hitting!

David Miller hit three effortless sixes which looked like action replays as Gujarat Titans, under their inspirational skipper Hardik Pandya, made a mockery of all the odds to reach the final of IPL-15 with a seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday. On a track that was two-paced, Royals rode on Jos Buttler's 56-ball-89 to post 188 for six in 20 overs, which seemed like a winning total considering the pressure of the occasion. But Pandya (40 no off 27 balls) and Miller (68 off 38 balls) added 101 runs in exactly 10 overs to seal the deal with three balls to spare.

For a team which many tipped to finish last because of some out-of-the-box picks, turned out to be the most consistent and will now play the final in front of its home crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium, with more than 100,000 people cheering them on.

No praise is enough for new 'Captain Cool' Pandya, who always looked in control even when things didn't seem to go his team's way.

One of the cleanest hitters, Pandya took the game deep with some well-placed boundaries which allowed Miller to take his time before unleashing five huge sixes -- three off the last over from Prasidh Krishna, when the bowler completely lost his nerve.

The best part about Pandya's captaincy was not taking any risks against the opposition's best bowler Yuzvendra Chahal (0/32 in 4 overs) but left it to his partner, who hit two huge sixes to ease the pressure.

Once Trent Boult (1/38 in 4 overs) and Chahal were done, it was left to the day's worst performer, Obed McCoy (1/40 in 4 overs), to bowl a good 19th over with Titans requiring 23 off 12 balls.

McCoy used his back of the hand slower balls to perfection as only seven came off the over, leaving Krishna with 16 runs to defend but it took Miller three balls to nail it, all in the length slots.

At the start of chase, Wriddhiman Saha (0) was all at sea against Boult and edged one that moved in and then straightened after pitching. Matthew Wade (35 off 30 balls) and Shubman Gill (35 off 21 balls) didn't let it affect their batting as they added 72 for the second wicket to keep the chase on course.

Gill started slowly but then launched into Ravichandran Ashwin with a six over long-off followed by two boundaries on both sides of the square.

Wade also carried on briskly before a big mix-up ended in Gill's run-out.

Skipper Pandya started with a square cut off McCoy before the bowler got Wade in the same over when Buttler took a well-judged catch at deep mid-wicket.

Earlier, Buttler enjoyed copious amount of luck and displayed a fair bit of pluck during an innings of 89, which took Rajasthan Royals to a challenging total after being put into bat.

The Orange Cap-holder Buttler, who had failed to get his act together in the second half of the season, got off to a slow start but made full use of a couple of dropped catches during his knock, which was studded with 12 fours and two sixes.

Buttler, who now has 718 runs in 15 games, scored 39 off his first 38 balls and then smashed another 50 off his next 18 deliveries.

Buttler was also fortunate to get two reprieves -- first on 43 -- when Hardik Pandya slipped to miss a sitter, and then Rashid Khan grassed him on 69.

He then took on Alzarri Joseph, smashing three boundaries in an over to accelerate his scoring before getting run-out in the final over.

First up, it was Sanju Samson's swagger that was on full display as the Royals skipper, seemingly hurt by the latest India selection snub, responded in style with a 26-ball 47 (5x4, 3x6).

At a time when Buttler struggled to get going, the wicketkeeper-batter dealt in boundaries in his entertaining powerplay display.

Samson shared 68-run stand with Buttler, of which 47 came off the former's blade that summed up the domination from the Royals skipper after they were put in.

He looked ominous from the first ball itself, when he lofted Dayal over long-on for an effortless six.

Titans pace duo of Mohammed Shami and Alzarri Joseph struggled with their line and lengths as Sanju made full use of that to take the score to 55/1 in six overs.

Just when they were looking to go out of control, none other than the wily Afghan spinner put on the brakes, coming into bowl after the power-play.

With the ball gripping on the dry surface, Rashid cleverly used his variations against his 'bunny' Buttler as the Englishman struggled to rotate the strike.

He conceded just two runs from the second over that seemingly put pressure on Sanju to take on Sai Kishore in the next over as he perished to a flighted delivery.

Will this IPL restore Kohli's form? How good it will be if he plays pivotal role in RCB's knockout games (including the last game which was also very crucial!) and if RCB eventually wins the cup! That will be a fitting comeback by Kohli at this juncture of his career which is sagging! Both Kohli & RCB deserve this actually!

I shudder to think that Kohli will be part of Indian batting lineup in the T20 Worldcup. The man is a massive liability and not suited for this format at all.

Between Kane and Kohli, I wonder who sucks more in T20's.

Kohli, Rohit Sharma should not be in the team. Both are past it in T20 format. Kohli was never a T20 player.

Even the likes of Patidar can wipe the floor with Kohli in this format.

Kohli was an excellent T20 player, lol two times MOS in T20 WC (back to back) and he never was a T20 player 😂

LOL Kane Williamson is no where near Virat's quality.
Kane Williamson is a third grade T20 player whereas Virat has proven himself in t20is again and again.
He used to be one of the best t20is batsman but now he has declined a lot i don't know about Indian team dynamics but Virat still should be persisted with

Virat has spectacular t20is stats.
He averages 51 with 137 strike rate which is insane and he has 30 fifties in just 89 innings.

IPL 2022 | 26 March - 29 May | Tournament Discussion

When Harshal Patel gifted away six runs of wides before even bowling a ball of the 18th over, it seemed at that time that the rest of the match would only be a formality, however, Harshal made an amazing comeback. I've never rated him really, but I must say that I've very rarely seen a bowler make such an admirable comeback in such a tense situation. Commendable stuff! An amazing stat is that, of the runs scored in the last three overs by Lucknow, 10 runs of those were wides! This too is something which I've very rarely seen in such a tense situation. Great death bowling by Harshal and Hazlewood.

Patidar had already impressed a lot during the entire tournament, and had often been the batsman to balance out Kohli`s painful slow batting, but today was his day! Boy, what incredible hitting by him! The six with which he brought up his hundred made an unbelievable sound - the sound of the breaking of a bone or something! Of course, he was massively lucky with all those dropped catches etc., but he made full use of the chances. Good on him. Absolutely carnage batting by him and Karthik in the slog-overs. It made for a lot of fun watching it, mind you.

Good analysis.
Patel need to control extra runs, today he bowled really well with Economy 6 on batting track.

Tuk Tuk Rahul buried his side. What a meek first 10 or 12 overs of batting from him. Absolute lack of intent. This has been the case right through the IPL. He makes up for strike rate in the end with a few sixes. But it doesn't hide his lack of intent for the best part of the innings.

SRH, CSK, KKR and MI are usually RCB's biggest hurdles in IPL knockouts. With them not here this time this is RCB's best chance to win the title... In my opinion the next match is a bigger threat (RR) compared to the finals against Gujarat (if they get through).
