Father's day.

So how many PPers are father themselves?Oxy,Mig??

Happy Father's Day. :)

Why must there be a special day for fathers, shouldnt our parents be celebrated everyday and not one day in the year, this is clearly a christian tradition and has seeped into our culture. The promotion of this event is like christmas e.g. all the shops full, posters, presents etc.

why we have to celebrate fathers day? Parents are very special for us and we should take care of them every day

I think most ppl do, they just like to make an extra special effort on fathers/mothers day etc

true, ain't nothing wrong to have a day to thank them with all your heart for what they do for you in life!

You people saying, Oh why should we celebrate father's day, you're just cheap. Can't be bothered to go out and spend some cash.

no bargaining, no arguments or excuses to get out or have someone else pay .... hmmmm.... are you desi? Father's day may have been made by a desi to test the kids/family

For some reason its Father's day in September here. My parents generally dont care much for Mother's/Father's day but my Khala does so because of that I'll end up sending my mum a Happy Mother's day message. Last year my sister didnt so my mum wasnt too happy. My Khalu doesnt really care much for it so nothing ever happens here and because of the different dates I dont think I say anything to my dad either.

My grandma was asking if theres also a children's day. Well ignoring World Children's Day, I dont know if Hallmark has created one but either way that would be the most pointless thing ever

:)) while reading the 1st para of your post i was thinking of saying the exact same thing...
IMO all these mother's day, father's day, Valtentines day etc are pointless so i never bother wishing my parents and they don't mind either because they know exactly what i think about all these rituals.

:)) I am not so sure about that, if it was in DEC then i could understand :13:

well I tossed in a good theory why Sustralia will have Father's day almost 9 months before US and UK.

Happy day after Father's day. Now back to work, make money, buy things and listen to complaints

Dear Abu,

I know I don't say it often enough, but I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH. You are the greatest dad in the whole world.

You are the only inspiration in my life. I know I am very rude at times but my love for you is endless. I cannot survive in this world if I don't have your support and love. Please forgive me for my wrong deeds.

May Allah Gives You Long Life & Better Health. Summa Ameen

Wishing u a very great Father's Day.
With lots of love

I'M As Lucky As I Can Be "The World's Best DAD" Belongs To Me

Guys Its Your Turn To Post Messages To Your Father

Dad,
I know I was never the ideal son but now that I am a father I know what you went through for me. LIfe is not life without you but I am happy knowing you're in a good place. If you can see me, all I want to say is " I love you very much dad".

Have a good time in burzukh and may Allah give you reward upon reward, primarily for putting up with me. Aameen.

I'll never forget that time Nadeem :(

its also my fathers B'day that is 15th June......love my dad.... could never tell him on his face :)

Every Day is Fathers Day.

Hallmark didnt invent fathers and niether do they have to remind us of the love and affection we feel for them.

May ALLAH bless all the fathers this day and every day
May ALLAH guide us to be obedient and caring sons, this day and every day
May ALLAH teach us to savour every moment we spend in our fathers presence - this day and every day

And for those whose fathers are not in this world, pray with every living breath for their Maghfirat - this day and every day

Ameen.

Every day should be Mother's and Father's day. There is no such concept in Islam of treating parents in a special manner just for one day. Like St Valentine's Day it is just western commercialism. My parents are both in heaven, Allah kareem.
