Haris Sohail - Test Match Performance Watch

I said it 4 years ago. Best batsman in the country along with Babar. Needs to be in the top 4 in ODIs as well
 
Some glorious shots in the 2nd innings. Will get better, we forget he is quite new to the test format.
 
And posters here wanted him drop after Ireland match despite being the best batsman against SL.

No need to get defensive he should get another series but that was a very poor knock and if he does not start moving his feet soon his test career will be done

Agree with this it's not bad but but he should be dropped people here actually want him to fail and a lot of people do like him for some reason. Mickey likes him and he is good enough and will definitely score big soon IA.
 
Everyone has struggled here from both teams but people are after haris for some reason.
 
People think just because he is a good timer so he is the next coming of Mark Waugh his feet movement is a joke and no way should he be a test number 3 with that footwork

I agree with dropping one of Azhar or Shafiq. If you can't trust these guys in a pressure situation after all these years than we should look for alternatives.

Babar is a youg player and was unfortunately injured right when he was looking good. The only reason why people are quick to crucify him is because of his family. He however deserves our support.

Haris comes across as a good bat but he needs to get going. Age is not on his side. I can't support him for too long out of pity that PCB ruined his career. Though can't be too harsh on him atm since he is coming back from an injury rehab.

Defensive? Nahi lets agree replace Haris because of his lack of converts, replace Babar because of his low average, replace Azhar because his career end is near but now give me solution? who should replace these players and can you give me surety that you wont want those new kids to be dropped after few matches?

Do you guys ever give a solution?

Where did I say replace but you agree if output remains same over the next few matches then he should be under threat?

Ofcourse his place should be under threat, but you have to see the context too.
What are the averages of other 32 players batsmen in both series and all the other batsmen who are much more experienced then him and then we can compare Haris with them, ok?

We can not keep shuffling our batting order every series. :facepalm:

We have to persist with the current options. If they don't work, move on. No big deal. But no point of shuffling and changing just for the sake of it. Just give the guys a proper run and see how they do. Two Test matches is not a proper run, by the way.
 
Ability wise no issues - in fact he has the most time of all our top order batters. Further, plays with a lovely straight bat and times the ball beautifully.

However, for years on end he hasn't been able to convert starts. It's getting to the point where you have no choice but to conclude it's an underlying issue that is extremely difficult to fix.

By underlying issue I believe it's either powers of concentration or fitness (most likely a combination of both).

his biggest issue is static footwork drives without moving his feet no wonder he has been found wanting at 3.
 
Needs a big score.

Potential, talent and flair are words we keep hearing but the reality is that runs are what matter.
 
Needs to score big tomorrow, no point occupying crease and not scoring much and then throwing it away.
 
Needs a big score tomorrow. Difficult to defend his selection if he doesn't get a big score soon.

Do you feel he should just focus on test cricket and really give it his all?

But...but... he lacks the fitness to score a century.

I see youve dug that one out..lol..i did say I would be ready to eat humble pie if he proves me wrong and Im glad he is..

However I would like to see him do this consistently and in tougher conditions now..
