Or as sam1eh, if she really has it..

As for you ms, I want you to take a pic of any one of the pages of the book (THE INSIDE), make sure you focus on the top because thats where its gonna say the deathly hollows or a name of a different chapter...

u gotta do it...

How about I go one better and take a photo of the first paragraph of the first chap', then you can compare it when you get your copy of the book?

Anyone against the idea?

that pdf version is probably a fake, in fact im sure of it
btw nothing wrong with the image

samieh, cmmon you downloaded the book of some torrent or your mate gave you a link to the torrent, probably the first.

I thought it might have been fake when I first got it but why on earth would someone sit and write out 660 pages of it? I guess we'll find it soon enough, I'll be comparing it on the 21st as well.

You people are too cynical lol

a mate sent it to me, don't know about torrents

there are many potty fanatics out there i reckon and atleast one of them is a good writer :P

If it is fake, oh well, I get 2 great versions of the book! This writer, whoever it is ;-) is very talented!

Same1h that is NOT the 7th book. Its an amazingly long fan-fiction written by some lover. The real book is estimated to be 784 pages, with the ENTIRE book (including author's note and everything) being around 850 pages.

Actually, only the US edition is that long.

The UK (and also Canadian) edition is 608 pages.

The link Sam1eh posted looks more like a manuscript (something JKR would send to the publishers to be edited), so it would definitely be longer than 608 pages.

There are probably 32 chapters in Deathly Hallows (if you go by the previous evidence of deluxe editions of HP), so if Sam1eh has the same number, there is chance she has the actual book.

The passage itself does resemble JKR's style of writing though. Only 6 days left.

it was covered in Akhbar-e-Jahan 8th edition Vol 16 of Teen Aurtain Teen Kahanian. one page or maybe 2 pages atmost

This time next week I will be reading the book! :D

I'm still reading it.

The funny thing I wasn't that bothered about the new HP book till I got this version...

I don't know, I'll let you know as soon as I get my hands on the new book, which won't be the 21st I don't think.

I have. Its the best yet. The graphics and everything is just grrrrrrrrrrrreat! I have to actually say, its a pretty good movie!

yeah, the trailer does look really good.

I'm just glad the special effects have improved since the first one! The acting improves through the films as well.

I still think she's 12! I think her character was miscast and find her slightly annoying.

Well, entra, it depends on which way you are thinking about her lol

Actually that doesn't matter, yes there is something wrong with you are, especially if, as I suspect, you are quite a bit older than her?

Well Hermione in the book is portrayed as mousy and with bushy hair. In the movie, she is just damn hot. Bit of a miscast, really. :D

Easa, tu bhi larki ke saat chaaloo ho gaye? Man, everyone's at it these days, even 14 year olds!

I was just reading the 4th book and came across this and it really bothered me. This took place in Dumbledore's office when him and Harry were having a chat about Voldemort and then this happens:

"For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes. But next second, Harry was sure he had imagined it..." (pg 696)

That is getting interesting. Why would Dumbledore have a gleam of triumph in his eyes?

*waits for Oxy*

This latest installment was actually good....Daniel Radcliffe and others have definitely matured and are now better actors.

All but one of the people I've spoken to disliked the new movie but I havent seen it myself

Entra, if you want to gawk at a chick in a summer blockbuster then watch Transformers but then again you were more a "Boo" person than an Angelina Jolie person so Hermoine seems fine for you

Sure, but what is the context? I don't remember this at all

Not that I am a big fan, but I now possess a zip file with pictures of every page from the new book. Somebody got a hold of the book (somehow) and took pictures of every single page.

It sure is.

Within a matter of hours, Bloomsbury got a subpoena for the website to disclose the name of the member that put the pics up.

Someone (not necessarily the person who posted the stuff, but the person who gave the guy the book in the first place) is in a whole lot of trouble...

I gotta say though, taking a pic of every page of the book requires quite a commitment.

yea, if you don't want it spoiled, seriously, just get off the internet.

Videos have started popping up on Youtube that look like something else but out of nowhere reveal a summary of the entire book (who dies, who lives, what happens, last line of the book...everything).

Yea, this site won't get in trouble. That's why they are all laughing their butts off right now. Because the site isn't even accessible to people who were once part of an old board.

And you think taking every picture requires commitment? An effort is already underway to transcribe every chapter of the book.

The site that got subpeona'd was Gaia, not the site that originally has the link.

Gaiaonline.com, the "networking" site?
I have no idea, I only saw that name in a news article.

Yea, at this point, the users on the board are rejoicing that they managed to debunk and $20 million security operation while the person who actually provided the pictures is scared out of his mind as he feels scholastic will eventually figure out it was him and a lawsuit will follow.

http://www.lemonde.fr/web/article/0,1-0@2-3246,36-936548@51-936586,0.html

The source of these pictures is a user from a private message board which only allows access to a certain group of people (LONG story).

The guy who's hand you see there is currently freaking out.

For those that don't understand french, here is the translation of the article.

It is a file containing a little less than 300 images: photographs of the pages of the American edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, of which the exit is envisaged on July 21. Created on July 15, this pirate version, whose authenticity leaves little doubt, circulates on the networks of remote loading peer-to-peer since July 16. During last months, the rumours and they true-false escapes multiplied, feeding from sharp debates between fans of the series. J K Rowling, the author of the adventures of the young wizard who already sold 325 million specimens of the first six volumes, had announced that two of the principal characters would die during this last volume, feeding the speculations. Mid-April, a file of almost 300 pages, presented like the beginning of the seventh volume, had circulated on Internet before several specialized sites do not show that it actually acted of a text written by an admiror of the series. At the end of June, a hacker being made call "Gabriel" claimed to have obtained a copy of the novel while infiltrating in the data-processing network of the Bloomsburry editor. Its "revelations", written as bad English, were accomodated with greatest skepticism on the forums and the sites devoted to Harry Potter. And last week, the site of the daily newspaper The Guardian had published a version of the first page of the novel, deciphered according to the images of documentary devoted to J K Rowling. SAFETY DEVICE To prevent the escapes, Bloomsburry took exceptional safety measures: in Great Britain, the trucks transporting the invaluable book are followed by satellite, and were equipped with alarms. Certain libraries however received the authorization to open the paperboards before July 21 to organize their shelves. Bloomsburry also misé on an impressive legal device to avoid the escapes, including a team of lawyers available twenty-four hours out of twenty-four. In 2005, a Canadian store had sold by error some specimens of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince before the authorized date. The editor had obtained court which it prohibits to the purchasers to read the book before the official date of exit. Friday 20, of the bookshops the night ones in Paris and in the majority of the large Frenchwoman cities will organize for the anglophone readers. The exit of the French edition of Harry Potter and the relics of death are envisaged on October 26

Damn, so far I have managed to avoid all spoilers, pictures of pages, etc. I am doing a good job thus far but I really hope that something doesn't happen in the next 3 days.. or else I'm going to hate it. Of course I can't get off the internet either.. I need something to do while waiting..

Wow, there are some really hardcore people out there...

no joke, its actually believed by many people, theres a thing beteween harry and snape, whenever harru=y is in danger, snape saves his a**. In the 6th book ,there are certain parts that have links to Snape and harry's mum.

wow, kabloo, i never knew you visited a site that doesnt exist
HOLY CRAP!!!

you go there too eh? What's your username?

btw, one does not simply walk into mordor :O

Several people I know have already finished reading the book. It's quite astonishing really.

Did they obtain it legally or illegally?

Also, Easa to refute your theory of McGonnagal's deatheaterness:

Doesn't McGonnagal defend Harry when she finds out Umbridge has been treating Harry cruelly, i.e. "I must not tell lies" being inscribed on his hands? She repeatedly bashes Umbridge and comes to Trelawies aid?

A question to all:

What are some of the funniest moments in the the 6 books so far...?

One of the ones that really stand out to me are when Umbridge is being taken by Grawp and the centaurs, and she's like, "Harry, tell them I am an innocent being and haven't done anything", and Harry just blatently says that, "Sorry, I must not tell lies"...

I dunno why I crack up at that everytime

Considering the book isn't released yet, and scholastic is threatening lawsuits against people who facilitate revelation of spoilers....I'd say illegally.

If anything, you are proving my point. Poor old, sobbing, weak Minerva comes up to Harry and feels very sorry for him. So what, just because she is not fond of divination she is on the order's side? I feel we are in for a twist and if we are not - she has been a pretty useless character, hardly developed and really lacking any real point. I can't wait until Saturday.

Well actually the people who have the books got it legally, since it was delivered in the mail by an online store a bit early.

The online store that delivered it broke it's contract, which puts it in a position of having done something wrong.

Saw the movie yesterday great movie but cut a lot out of the book.

Is the next book coming out on the 21st of july?

I see where you are coming from. I really do. But I really can't see McGonagall being a death eater. I mean, Dumbleydorey isn't stupid! Wouldn't he have just dismissed her?

I think they will be hurrying the movies up cause Harry doesn't look like a kid anymore.

Yea the 6th movie is supposed to come out next year in April. When they hurry, they will prolly come out pretty bad as they will be short and not be thorough.

How long u think it's gonna be b4 bollywood makes a movie called Haroon Puthar?

LOL

They should of just did what lord of the rings did and make them all at the same time.

nope.
the technique is start filimg the day after the release. and besides, 1 year is good damn long time to make a film provided people make films in 60 days like catch me if u can and that was brilliant
