Has Imam-ul-Haq secured his spot with his second innings heroics?

After the first inning debacle (dismissal + review) knives were out. However Imam-ul-Haq seems to have redeemed himself and maybe justified his selection with a confident second innings display.

Or do you think he should still be dropped? :inzi

It was never in doubt. He is good enough to play for this rubbish team, and he has been pretty decent in his career so far.

People criticize him too much because of the Inzamam connection. If his surname was not “ul-Haq”, they would cut him more slack.

They will not, his domestic stats are mediocre.

How is this even a question at this point exactly? He is likely to become the vice captain in the next game with People calling for Sarfaraz to be axed and his deputy (Shafiq) to be sent back home also

Would you still want him in the side?

Inzi should be sacked for selecting his nephew despite his failures in the home season. Also he planned his selection in the team by not selecting a reserve batsman. Quite pathetic.

Scoring 50 odd runs isn't qualified to be termed heroics in my books. The guy simply isn't good enough to merit a place in his side. Me might do well here and there in UAE pitches, but that's it.

Well, the reserve batsman was Shan. Plus Azhar can open too.

But yeah I agree with the rest.

Don’t know how anyone can think he’s good enough. Struggles against the wide full delivery, the one that nips back and the short ball. Way too many technical deficiencies for him to be a consistent opener. Kick him out.

The criteria of 1 good knock per series is enougb for our pathetic team management and captain to keep picking players.

The thing is, he wouldn't have even been in the side if the Ul-Haq wasn't connected.

I like Imam the test player but he needs time away from international cricket. The way he is being worked over won't do his mental state good. Please don't select him for the ODIs.
