There was a lot of criticism early on when Shahryar Khan was appointed PCB Chairman in 2014 while Sethi went on the back foot and became the chairman of the PCB Executive Committee.

There was a lot of criticism that Shahryar Khan is a dummy chairman while Sethi is the one calling the shots. I personally felt this was a smart decision at the time because Zaka Ashraf was wasting so much PCB's time and effort with constant judicial interference and this was seriously hurting long term decision making inside the PCB, the ability to represent Pakistan outside in ICC meetings.

However its been 3 years now. You can't really say that Shahryar has been a dummy chairman. He has a consistent presence in front of the media. He has taken independent decisions like the decision to fire Moin Khan, the decision to appoint Azhar Ali as captain, the decision to not renew Waqar's contract as coach. The decision to appoint Mickey Arthur as coach. The decision to appoint Sarfaraz as captain, to remove Azhar Ali, to force Misbah to announce his retirement.

The decision to let Sethi be responsible for the PSL worked well in the end where he was allowed to work independently, freely without any judicial interference from Zaka Ashraf.

Also there is plenty of proof that Shahryar and Sethi have been on the same page on many key decisions like what to do with Amir, Asif and Butt. What to do with the PSL Spot fixers. They are both on the same page when it comes to suing BCCI.

Anyways my point is that the reports of there being a power struggle is unfounded. If you look at the larger scheme of things, both these guys have been able to deliver what the likes of Zaka Ashraf, Ijaz Butt, Nasim Ashraf failed to deliver in Pakistan Cricket.

Joint leadership models never work well - true in most organizations.

People like them will even turn friends into foes with their talk. Do you think people in BCCI are quaking in their boots after the latest utterances by Sethi ?

He certainly got the BCCI to the table, the BCCI is certainly going over drive running to the govt, running to the lawyers and talking to the PCB to resolve this behind the scenes for a compromise. That is the PCB for you. We are a major cricketing board and cannot be taken for a ride. Had this been the BCB, the BCCI would have put any legal notices in the spam/junk folder.

Where is Zaka Ashraf now? How did his whole attempt to get reinstated get resolved?

Credit where credit is due. Sethi is responsible for PSL and other great things in the administration of PCB. The video you showed shows him being more occupied with his food than the match itself. These guys had overseen a garbage squad and repeated selections of terrible players for years. Do you expect us to turn a blind eye to those frustrations form one win? Sethi is the lesser of two evils when compared to that incompetent media hungry grandpa Chairman.
