Haseeb ur-Rehman is nearly 26 but has only played 11 FC matches; ZTBL were relegated in 2015 and he did not play in the Patron's Trophy/Grade II. He did, however, feature in PCB's annual Regional Inter-District Senior Tournament during that time. ZTBL returned to the QeA trophy this year, and he has made an excellent start.

In the first round vs Lahore Blues he took 4-9 (6.2 overs) in the first innings and 6-43 (15.4 overs) in the second innings.

Video of that performance available here:

At the start of his career, seems like he only occasionally bowled but it looks like he has become more of a spin bowling all-rounder now.

He has a classical high arm action. Gets dip, turn, and bounce and seems to have very good control.

Based on the scorecard, I had assumed the pitch was turning square but based on the video that doesn't seem to be the case. A lot of the dismissals are "test" dismissals- he's fortunate he's got a slip cordon and keeper who hold on to their catches! Will need more/better footage to see his variations etc, but initial signs look good. Let's see how he does against stronger opposition.

Competition for the offspinner is heating up with the likes ofBilal Asif, Mansoor Amjad, Ashiq Ali and now Haseeb ur-Rehman.

Was going to make a thread on him, since his action looks clean and we need a good right arm offspinner

The second dismissal reminds me of the time Lyon fooled Kohli in very similar fashion.

Also, if you slow down the video where the bowler is bowling towards the camera you will notice the trajectory of some of the deliveries is very unusual. The dismissal at 1:21 is a good example.

Could be the off-spinner we're looking for to compliment Yasir Shah's leg-spin in tests?

Wasn't really needed in the second round match vs Rawalpindi (low scoring affair) but showed he can play a holding role with figures of 7-3-12-0 and 14-7-24-0.

Clips of his bowling from the match are in this video (you'll have to skip through it). What stands out is the shape he gets on the ball:

Opened the batting in Round Two (ODC) and scored 39 (41) and bowling figures of 7-0-38-0.

This is the first time I have seen him bat and he has real potential:

His shots are at 0:14, 0:50, 1:02 and 1:14

Best Off Spinning Allrounders in Pakistan :

1. Haseeb ur Rehman

2. Agha Salman

3. Iftikhar Ahmed

It is absolutely baffling to see Haseeb ur Rehman being neglected by PCB. I am sure Inzamam isn't aware of him despite him taking a tenfer last season.

Haseeb is ideal replacement of Hafeez. Like Graeme Swann he has ability to spin the bowl at high pace.

Very unfortunate to see him missing out from all domestic televised matches. He deserved to be picked in PSL aswell.

Somebody tell Inzamam, Mickey & Mudassar Nazar about him.

What happened to Agha? He was close the national team last season and this season he was just out of sorts.

Out of form. Also he hasn’t learnt the art of spinning the ball yet. He needs 2-3 weeks training with Saqlain. He bowls great line and length but cannot turn the ball unfortunately.

Pakistan badly needs an off-spinner in the team at the moment and going by the on-going Pakistan Cup there does not seem to be an off-spinner in the domestic set-up who could actually spin the ball and there are hardly any off spin bowlers playing in this Pakistan Cup. Waleed Ahmed (son of Tauseef Ahmed) though looked impressive in yesterdays game against KPK and he was a last minute inclusion in the playing and he out performed all the bowlers in yesterdays match .

Waleed Ahmed might be the off-spinners selectors would want to try post world cup both in ODIS and Tests I reckon.

Saqlain Mushtaq needs to be a part of our under19 set up if we are to produce any off-spinners.

Disappointingly, he misses out on selection for the new domestic squads. Hope he bounces back.

Misbah and Mudassar must take notice.

On merit he should not have missed this years QEA. He is an allrounder and a very good offspinner and with dearth of Good offies in Pakistan No way he could miss QEA this year.

Anybody ? Is her permanent employee of ZTBL ? Because Ali Asad of UBL also proffered his permanent Job but remember unlike Ali Asad Haseeb is an all rounder and an Off Spinner Pakistan needs.

Like Swann Haseeb gets sharp turn at a quickish pace and PSL’s talentspotters are missing out on not picking him. There is enough video evidence of his batting and bowling to suggest that He is a slightly inferior batsman than Agha Salman and a better Offspinner than Agha Salman so if Agha on merit has played PSL so should Haseeb.

Norton in Hales have ventured far and wide to add to their squad for the new North Staffs and South Cheshire League season.

The Division Two side, who finished in sixth place last summer, have announced 12 signings as part of a club-wide programme to strengthen their resources.

They have retained the services of all-rounder Kashif Ali Moon to spearhead their attack, while 11 new faces have signed for the club.

The eye-catching recruit is Pakistani Haseeb-ur-Rehman - a right-handed batsman and off-spinner.

Rehman, aged 27, has played 15 first-class matches and 10 List A matches, most notably for Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited.

He has a top score of 96 and has also picked up 27 wickets, including best match figures of 10-52.

Rehman spent last summer playing in the South Yorkshire Premier League for Treeton, where he accumulated 731 runs and claimed 23 victims.
