I have reading up on some haunted places in the subcontinent so want to know if anyone has visited them. The first one is the Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple where the last door remains unopened for centuries it seems. What can be behind it? Another one is in Kuldhara a village in Rajasthan I think where people go missing. It is said to be cursed place or something like that after a cruel ruler forced villagers out some 400 years back. People are afriad to visit this place even during day time such is the fear. Can anyone shed any light on this? I will now visit haunted places in Pak. I love haunted places:ashwin

Why would you want to go anywhere near a haunted place? Even the thought of it makes me uncomfortable.

There is a haunted house in every mohalla of Pakistan and I'm sure in India aswell. There was this abandoned house in my neighborhood and when I was little me and my friends used to dare each other to go inside and stay there for sometime, nothing ever happened but it still provided some thrill.

Precisely this, the adrenaline rush of being outside your comfort zone is something that certain people enjoy and to an extent I do too, the thrill of the moment, even when it's a figment of your imagination is a fun experience for many.

We should bump the Jinn thread. As some of you may recall, I grew up in a house that I always believed was haunted. Although I don’t live there anymore, a couple of recent developments have vindicated my belief.

The Jinn thread! That brings back memories - it's been a long while since I've last gone through that treasure trove, but by the sound of things, it would be great to read a new post or two from you in the thread:

Go to Faisalabad. In saeed colony, their is an alleyway where blood is found all over mysteriously. Their are owls squeaking from there. People hear their names being called. They've seen women with dirt on their face hissing and calling out to people. Scary place.

There is a small bhaag and old house in the gully behind my house and people have seen weird things and hear sounds. The gully I live in and even my roof is haunted. Multiple family members have seen ghost, headless man, and heard very scary growly sounds at 2 am at night

It is in your mind. There is no such thing as a haunted place. Ever wondered why none in the entire human history has produced an irrefutable evidence of the supernatural? If something is so common in nature then there must be a solid proof, right?

The entire subcontinent is a haunted place according to some.

Every other person has a some major ghost story in the subcontinent. If all these stories were real then there should be a ghost or a jinn lurking in every street corner.

A lot of superstitions exist in our part of the world. Even innocuous things like Black cat, Yawning, hiccuping etc are considered to bring bad luck or acts of devil etc.

Nature and Supernatural are 2 very different things. One cannot use the methods of nature to detect the Supernatural. Hence Super-natural.

By the way, love this thread! :)

I know the difference between the two. In the past, almost everything in nature (from rain to diseases) used to be considered supernatural until Science provided us with an explanation of the phenomenon. Similarly, if things like ghosts, jinns, demons, magic etc. are so common then why is it that none has been able to present an extraordinary proof of these things, let alone its transition from supernatural to natural world.

I was told not to ever take milk or meat to a cemetery or sit under a weird looking tree in Pak. Taken this advice on board thus far. Apparently should not wear perfume in a haunted place either.

There is a temple in my native village that was build during Cholan Dynasty. All the priests of the temple all have died on the same week of particular month for the last 140 years.

Knowing the history of the temple why would anyone agree to being a priest there?

Maybe priests don't believe in such things(just like me) - there is a difference between superstition and faith- and then end up paying for it with their lives.

Well you do believe in such things when saying people have died on the same week of a month.

Family tradition, all the priests have come from particular family. It is a small temple. I don't believe in religion, but i do believe in Aura and positive/negative energy. It's a 900+ year old temple. Your emotions and mental state gets cleansed every time I come back after visiting. May sound weird to you but it is what it is.

And you still dare to say that you dont believe in such stuff. Looks like you dont love your life. :yk

In karachi, i can tell about two places,

one is the small hotel near airport, ( my own cousin was employed in that hotel for last 15 years ). wont tell the name, in its backyard thres a swimming pool, at night hotel staff heard the noises in pool like someone is swimming etc , at daytime its like normal.

second, most of the karachite knw about this, people have seen a Bride in wedding dress, near a baloch colony bridge at nite , most of the karachite will verify it.

Don't know about first one, but second one I have heard from multiple sources.

Could it be some random dude putting it on to scare people? In US there have been multiple instances of people dressing as clowns and showing up at random places and parks.

he/she cant be persist like this, i am hearing about this from last one decade.. :jm

I know a hunted place in our village house. We have a small personal mosque. There is a white baba that many people in our family has seen in the small mosque.

However I believe it's absolute hogwash.

What do you mean white baba? Like ethnically or do you mean he wears white clothes?

Returned from NSK via that route a few times over the past week, didn't see anything :srt

Actually Baluch colony bridge is not the one in the stories I've heard. I heard its on Sunset Boulevard (yes same one that is close to your and my residences). The story is those travelling alone late at night have seen a bride on the side of the street asking for a lift.

I know the non-believers will doubt. but for those of us that have seen and heard things, it's very real. Hollywood has made movies on true stories of hauntings, I dont think they are making those up. They have reports, recordings, and equipment that provides evidence for these types of things.

Mohali after what happened to us in 2011.

A certain ex-captain of ours must find it haunted to go there.
