I think there's 2 sides to this. It's definitely been more results-orientated, but it's hard to say whether that's due to a general improvement in quality of a gradual decline in batting quality.Quality of test cricket has been better in the last 10 years. Result oriented pitches and teams going for wins. Much better than 00s decade.
IMO bowling has definitely maintained it's standard in quality, but batting has taken a dip. We've seen it for a few years now around world, with poor shot selection and no patience to grind out difficult periods and buy time at the crease. There have been some exceptions, but this has generally been the norm.
As a fan I'm not really complaining, I'm all for results. Just wish it didn't have to come at the cost of something. Hard-fought draws and wins have their place too.
