Nz has a strong think tank. Outstanding strategy based team. Pakistan think tank is non existent. Plus Nz is always a great fielding side.

Yeah but professionalism, athleticism, fitness etc, can all be worked on. Fitness all you need is good diet and a gym. Fielding, you just need practice and good fitness. I think also stricter requirements for selection also would help, if good fitness and fielding was a perquisite to being selected, a lot of cricketers would try harder. Instead we have cricketers selected who have overlooked these things completely. Which is why many cricketers find it comfortable to keep eating bad diets and poor fitness regimes. I even remember Sarfraz. Got fat during captaincy, dropped and then started to work on fitness and diet and got leaner again. This sort of thing shouldn’t happen. Why are our fitness and fielding standards so lax, that it is acceptable to even lose fitness while being part of the international team? Same has arguably happened with guys like Babar, Shadab and others. Why can you be selected for the team when you’re as bad in fitness and fielding as Azam?

Yes maybe it’s easier for New Zealand as it’s ingrained in their culture and they are a richer country with better education. But it doesn’t take a lot of money or facilities to achieve this. It is possible.

Talent and skill relies too much on cricketing infrastructure, size of pool of talent etc. Which is much harder to fix and carries a much bigger disadvantage with lack of wealth. And yet this is what we bank on somehow saving us. In Pakistan the idea is we can keeping going through everyone until we find talented players.

But we don’t care. The moment we selected someone like Azam Khan shows just solidifies how little we care.
