Pakistani govt started a very good program called Presidential Initiative Artificial Intelligence and Computing (PIAIC). Gave my test today along with 15000 other students at the Jinnah Sports complex.

Now before the test began the organizers of the test gave out speeches, and in one instance they talked and implied how India was jealous of us, How India is surprised that soo many Pakistani students have applied for PIAIC test.
Then there was this guy seated as chief guest called Dr. Zafarullah, and the organizers when giving his introduction said how this guy left Silicon Valley and come to teach Pakistani students that he has left India by surprise, the Indians are jealous of him.

Then after 10 mins our president showed up and he started his speech with what was happening in Kashmir, what India had done and all.

Now i agree that what India has done is very wrong, but this is was an entrance test for a course that was being taught by the Govt at very low price, so that people could gain skills in AI, Clouding, BLock chain or IOT.

And yet, these people show up and there main concern was what India was doing.

This was not the place to discuss such issues.

While what you said isn't wrong, but I had a laugh at "clouding" :))

It is cloud computing. Didn't know folks from business background could also enroll in it. It is an excellent initiative and will go a long way in enhancing skills of Pakistanis in these new emerging fields.

It is our inferiority complex. We want to be where they are today, and the fact that they have left us behind in cricket as well has simply added salt to our wounds.

Obsessing with India is the biggest reason why Pakistan has not achieved its full potential yet, and we compensate our inferiority complex and obsession by forcing ourselves to believe that India is the one that is obsessed with us.

Yet we have thousands of Indians on this forum posting on a daily basis, some have even been active for over a decade. Some Indians even have favourite Pakistani news anchors and columnist. Most Pakistanis will struggle to name any Indian politicians other than Modi, the foreign affairs lady (her names escapes my memory atm, I do know it), Navjot Singh, Lalu Prasad and Rahul Gandi. As for media personnal it is my challenge to Pakistanis to name even one single Indian anchor other than Arnab Goswami without using Google.

You are the one obsessed with India and it is your dying wish to be another Adnan Sami

I think amount of money we have spent on our army, had we spent it elsewhere, we would have been much better off.

I feel India has taken this move regarding Kashmir at very strong time when they know we have some idiots ruling the country. Mamoon

Your mentality is one of treason. Please be careful.

beneficial if i opt to do majors in information systems.

We don’t go on their social media platforms to abuse the sh*t of their lives.

I think the Indians are more concerned about Pakistan than about their own land.

They have outsmarted Bajwa and Imran. It is time for our two stalwarts to go back to Washington and ask Trump what he meant when he said he would meditate.

On a serious note, our military has cannibalized our economy.

This is the best cricket forum on the Internet. Posting here doesn’t make Indians obsessed with Pakistan. Besides, considering the state of our country today, what is there to obsess?

They are better than us at everything that matters.

What do you think is going to happen? Because the way I see, Economy and Business Activity are dead and it is almost now impossible to recover from the damage caused by Imran.

There are no jobs or MTO Programs in MNCs who are downsizing to massive levels.

Government is in some delusions and has the issue of tunnel vision with them emphasizing on selected KPIs.

Railway is going down, Infrastructure and Development is at all time low. I think we (Pakistanis) are doomed.

Bro, business activity bein dead is a great thing and that it what is required to bring down inflation..

What is happening in Pakistan is basic economics and basic ecnomics fiscal and monetary tools have been used where increased taxes results in inflation in short run, but in the long run we will benefit from this alot. Because theory states in the long run prices will have to go down.

Plus, this US visit was to be very honest a masterstroke. We have US on our side, if we even touch hyper inflation, US will give us money which will save us from hyper inflation..

Pakistan has saved its butt from turning into Venezuela.

How would you define treason?

Betraying ones country, theres many ways to do it.

You yourself have admmited you cant openly speak such treasonous words so use this platform. It's about time people with such thinking should be investiaged.

You support the occupation of Kashmir by India.
You support Indian jets bombing and killing Pakistani schoolchildren.
You believe you should have been Indian, born in an nation which is ruled by Hindus.

Would you allow an investigation, perhaps we can arrange this for you?

People really need to read up on treason laws btw.

Treason is not as simple as Pakistanis have made it to be.

Even Khadim Rizvi couldnt be convicted of treason as its not as simple. Even shakil Afridi(who was never a traitor) couldnt be convicted of treason. They had to jail him on some fake case.

Indirect Taxes are being increased alongside currency devaluation.

Indirect Taxes are regressive and only will create Inflation.

There is going to be massive unemployment alongside inflation.

Which economics are you talking about?

Which economics are you talking about?

1. indirect taxes again causes inflation in short run, but it causes the AD to fall thus in the long run the prices get set.

2.There is different between devaluation and depreciation. Devaluation is when the govt intself tries to fix the exhcange rate, while the latter is when you let the market play out. PMLN was controlling the market rate, and this inflation that we are seeing is because of them as they kind of held the economy hostage against us to get votes.

If there is govt control on exchagne rate, it could cause problems like these.
Right now the market rate isnt being controlled and thats how it should be

Look to get economic prosperity, such taxes were required.
Pakistan's only concern is hyper inflation, but US has backed us, and they wont allow us to go into hyper inflation

Interesting.

Which economics have you studied? Direct Taxes affect AD directly, Not the Indirect.

There are going to be shortages and market will be volatile and hostile for users.

Have you even studied economics?

We are. We have brought a cult into power that successfully brainwashed the masses into thinking that they hold the key to Pakistan’s prosperity.

This government has no clue about anything. They cannot handle the economy as the Asad Umar/Hafeez Shaikh fiasco shows.

They cannot focus on planning and development either. BRT disaster in Peshawar has badly exposed them.

Two days ago, it rained heavily in Peshawar and the BRT trail turned into a lake. This is the result of 6 years of PTI’s incompetence.

They are so clueless that they have appointed Fawad Chaudhry as Minister of Science & Technology.

They know they have failed which is why they deflect attention by continuously focusing on PMLN and PPP.

I shudder to think what the country would look like after 5 years of PTI rule. The whole country would probably be a big BRT.

All of this is wrong and has been debunked repeatedly. But i am glad your 1,000 word screeds are more crayon level now.

In my years as a bachelors student at IIT, I never ever heard the word Pakistan mentioned by anyone giving a speech. In fact I can't even remember hearing a speech as I missed the graduation ceremony. Our time was either wasted playing carrom, TT, chess, billiards, football etc. or spent usefully reading textbooks and learning the subjects.

I have to say that if we spent time discussing Pakistan, we would be adding to time wasted and subtracting from time spent productively.

Pakistan's problems are:

1. It's going bankrupt as exports and remittances are far lower than imports.
2. Exports are not rising as modern industries are not being developed.
3. Modern industries are not being developed as Western firms will not invest in country that provides refuge to OBL, jails the doctor who helped find him, and provides arms to the Taliban which kills US soldiers.

Fix the above and Pakistan will solve its economic problems. Telling each other how Indians are jealous of Pakistan won't fix anything. It takes extreme delusion to believe that a country with $126 billion IT and IT services exports is jealous of a country with $1 billion in similar exports.

This obsession we have with India is even more prevalent in India. The amount of Indians i’ve seen comment on Pak shows and news outlets are a proof of this.

How do we survive?

Those who can should leave. It is becoming increasingly difficult for professionals to survive unless they have other sources of income.

Do you think establishment is realizing/will realize the blunder they have made?

Lol we are obessed with india and then at everything related to Pakistan you find indians poking their dirty noses.

Lol our biggest problem is that you indians are our neighbors and inside we have peoples like mamoon jo khatay yahan ka hen gatay wahan ka hen

Well it took only 8 months for them to sack Imran from interior ministry. However, as long as he is doing their bidding, they don’t care about anything else. If they cared about economic development they wouldn’t have cannibalized the economy over the last 72 years.

With the kind of human resources Pakistan has at its hand, it has great potential to develop. Lack of innovation and skills at necessary levels is the real problem. Pakistan has to invest in higher education and establish more good institutes of excellence to upgrade itself. For all the issues it has, India manages to do this decently well.
