You’ve probably just started watching cricket in the last 5 years. People hear the name Shoaib Akhtar and they immediately think of speed, but they forget the variations that he had. His slower ball was probably the best in the business, they’d deceive not only the batsmen but the viewers. When it came out of his hand it looked like it was going to be a Beamer to the head, but it slowly dies down and hits the batsman’s foot on the full. Not just the slower ball but he had reverse swing, something which is obviously harder to do now with the new rules for ODI’s, but Shoaib wasn’t reliant on reverse swing.
To say Akhtar would get the same treatment is an insult.
You honestly think Shoaib would be worried about the pitch conditions? Have you not heard of the phrase “taking the pitch out of the equation”, something Shaiby used to do on a regular basis.
Don’t watch the IPL so can’t say when this happened but probably past Dale Steyn’s peak.
Yes, Akhtar is lucky to have bowled against crap batsmen like Tendulkar, Langer, Hayden, Ponting, Gilchrist, Dravid, Gunguly, Sehwag, Lara etc.
Why should Akhtar give tips for free? If PCB wants his service then they can hire him.
Also, how many variations does Shaheen have? Doesn’t he just bowl 85+ and hope for the best?
