Miss his commentary during the Sharjah days.

Does he commentate nowadays?

He used to go crazy on spotting earrings ..

He's still around, he doesn't do TV commentary anymore. He's on TMS on radio here in the UK for England's home series.

on TMS radio five live extra and radio 4 longwave!! established part of the english summer is blowers!! still rememebr his commentary during the miandad six match!!

Still on BBC Radio 4 isn't he?

Yeah, still does Test Match Special.

For those PPers who don't know what TMS is, it's a program that is so magical it makes the likes of Vaughan and Swann feel like pleasant company. Best way to follow cricket and the highlight of each summer by far.

I've been watching the World Cup to it in Australia.

I pay a subscription to switch my IP address so I can get British radio - then delay the TV feed to match it.

No Blowers, but Aggers and Sir Geoffrey and Vic Marks!

Anyone anywhere can download the discussion highlights on iTunes. I save them!

Never really liked his commentary... The earrings stuff was ok at the beginning but got bored after a while.

Blowers is 75.

Like Bill Lawry he has to pace himself nowadays!

appearing on tv ad campaign in uk at moment advertising a gambling site alongside graeme swann

such a recognisable voice odd to see him in person

Worth it, can't think of a better way to watch cricket.

The great man has retired.

My dear old thing.

Blowers was the most unique of commentators and a great guy to boot.

Loved listening to him on TMS, pigeons /red buses et al.

A British institution. Will be sorely missed.

Who's cutting onions?

That was genuinely heart-warming to see the Lords crowd give him a standing ovation.

One of the fixtures of my youth. I wasn't a fan as I felt he overdid his self parody. But he seemed a nice man.

Blowers is 75.

................

I didn't know that, thought he looked much older. Jeez that's a hard 75, right there.

Was a jolly good batsman too until a bus knocked him off his bike in the 1950's.

Actually scored two centuries at Lords in his youth.

Wrote some marvellous books too, covering England's overseas tours.

A lifelong confirmed bachelor, until he met a European lady when he was well into his sixties, and she did strange things to his wardrobe! (Not in the Nicholas Soames sense).
