Honeytrap: Indian engineer leaks classified info to 'Pakistani' female spy
The woman befriended the man on Facebook before ‘acquiring details of the advanced missile programme’

An Indian engineer associated with a sensitive organisation was honey-trapped by a purported Pakistani female spy who successfully acquired details of the Indian missile development from the former.

Mallikarjuna Reddy, 29, was lured by the woman over a promise of marriage after the two met on Facebook, BBC Urdu reported.

Reddy, an employee of the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), was at the time working on an advanced naval system programme.

It started through a friend request from a Facebook user with the name Natasha Rao, who told Reddy she was an employee at a UK defence journal.

Once he accepted the request, 'Rao' told Reddy that her father had served Indian Air Force (IAF).

The two eventually "fell in love", with the woman proposing Reddy and asking for the aforesaid details.

The alleged leakage of sensitive information continued for more than a year before the bond between the two went cold and 'Natasha Rao' changed her name to Simran Chopra.

In 2018, an IAF officer was apprehended in Delhi on charges of espionage and leaking classified information.

Group Captain Arun Marwaha, 51, was caught leaking documents to two agents who chatted with him pretending to be women.

The officer, an employee at the IAF headquarters, was charged under the Official Secrets Act.

Honeytrap over Facebook? Are these guys really so gullible? I could understand if it was some hotel action going on in the flesh, but over social media?

There is carrot and stick approach in geopolitics but with India a simple honey trap trick always works with their male staff. India isnt the worse place for women on the planet for no reason, they are seen by many as flesh for feasting, which is why they are easily trapped. While RAW are training stick wielding RSS combatants , ISI are using Uncle Riaz on FB pretending to be a woman gaining vital info of Indian forces and tactics.

ISI can be a lot more successful in trapping if they replace “honey” with a certain bovine liquid.

Here are a few more cases of the Indian army's desperation.

https://english.newsnationtv.com/in...nnel-arrested-leaking-information-254124.html

"At least 11 Indian Navy personnel and two civilians have been arrested in connection with an alleged spying case where Pakistani intelligence operatives virtually honey-trapped them on social media."

Caught 13 in one go. This must be a high score.

http://www.indiandefensenews.in/2021/11/agencies-tracking-isi-attempts-to-honey.html

"New Delhi: The recent arrest of an Army Jawan named Ganesh Prasad, posted in Pune, on a tip-off provided by Army Intelligence, on charges of spying for Pakistan, has brought to the fore the issue of honey-trapping by Pakistani intelligence agencies that are working overtime to corner India and are trying to get sensitive information about India’s security apparatus."

Lol "working overtime". As if they need to work overtime considering how easy it is to make Indian "soldiers" spill the beans.

https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/pakistan-chinese-intelligence-agencies-honeytrap-indian-army-officers-1027807-2017-08-03

"Good looking women of Pakistani, Chinese origin speaking fluent Urdu, English have been deployed to lay trap for Indian officers."

"The covert courtship continues for a few days with the woman claiming to be a rich, lonely and unsatisfied housewife."

:)))

“We have identified about 100 men and put their activities under intensive and extensive observation,” said a senior Army officer on Monday.

"We have reasons to believe that they may have been already compromised and shared sensitive information with unauthorised persons,” he said.

Indian media is calling this "love jihad". You can't make this stuff up.

It is estimated that over 2000 Indian soldiers have been honey trapped. There are a ton more stories I can share but it would start getting repetitive.

The gist of it is basically women(sometimes even men lol) + facebook + skype/whatsapp = secrect Indian millatry information.

We've got a few more in the past few days.

This happened today - https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/jaipur/rajasthan-army-jawan-falls-for-honey-trap-by-isi-held-for-spying/articleshow/91717365.cms?from=mdr

"A case has come up in the Supreme Court of India of four military intelligence officers being linked to a WhatsApp group of an alleged 'Pakistani spy".

"Officers of the rank of colonel and lieutenant colonel included."

What has ISI done with the critical information is the bigger question. Also does ISI have a honey trap wing or given that there were so many examples above or is the same 1-2 women rotated for honey traps? More questions than answers here.

A quote from the following article suggests that it might be the same women that are honey-trapping Indian soldiers over and over again.

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com...-for-spying/articleshow/91717365.cms?from=mdr

"Mishra said this woman had also got a mobile SIM from Prajapat to target other jawans."

A lot of Indians on social media are assuming that most of the soldiers that are being honey-trapped are Muslim but according to my "research" it seems that Indian soldiers of all religions and ethnicities are being honey-trapped equally. The honey-trapping isn't specific to any certain religion.

I am not denying the news lol. Honeytrap strategy has been happening since 300 bc so not exactly ground breaking.

However it’s not something to chest thump about.

Maybe I am from a different generation or have different values but while sure the people falling for this are idiots I don’t think where I come from even when a woman/man is honey trapping for his/her country out of patriotism, it isn’t seen as a noble profession.

For example imagine a girl saying that’s what she does for a living at least where I come from.

The chest thumping about this as some kind of an accomplishment was funny. I am sure this happens all the time but these are usually clandestine techniques not something to be elated about. I guess we all have different sensibilities and ethics.

They might be chest thumping, but you need to stop crying that fellow Indians are falling for this.

As funny as it is, it is not unrealistic. Many couples met on social media.

Good for Pakistan.

I never assumed that you were denying any of this.

I can see how you are assuming that I'm "chest thumping", but I can assure you that I'm not posting due to nationalism or pride. There is nothing to be proud of when it comes to stuff like this. The reason I post this stuff is to show the level of India's army and how seriously they take their job. These weirdos are selling their nation in exchange for pixels.

I cannot comprehend how dumb or desperate these guys have to be to do this stuff even when their life and career are on the line.

Maybe I am from a different generation or have different values but while sure the people falling for this are idiots I don’t think where I come from even when a woman/man is honey trapping for his/her country out of patriotism, it isn’t seen as a noble profession.

Taking advantage of your enemy and using them to do your bidding is always a noble profession. You must not know much about this whole secret service stuff if you have that sort of backward view of basic spy operations. It's not like India doesn't try to do the same stuff, It's just that they fail most of the time.

For example imagine a girl saying that’s what she does for a living at least where I come from.

I think you're a little confused about how honey-trapping works. Most of the time it's ISI agents communicating via chat with these Indian soldiers. ISI agents rarely communicate via live video. From what I've seen ISI only uses live video to trap high-value targets like colonels, scientists, engineers, etc.

Also, you shouldn't assume the gender of the ISI agents that are doing the honey-trapping because a lot of the agents are male. You would be surprised to know that even female Indian soldiers are getting honey-trapped on the regular.

The chest thumping about this as some kind of an accomplishment was funny. I am sure this happens all the time but these are usually clandestine techniques not something to be elated about. I guess we all have different sensibilities and ethics.

Actually no. Most of the information ISI has gathered is thought just text and fake social media handles. China is also very prolific when it comes to honey-trapping Indian jawans.

It's not like these Indian soldiers are dumb or come from poor households a lot of them are very educated and well of. For example, a lot of scientists and engineers get honey-trapped pretty regularly. India needs cultural and social changes within its army if it wants to put an end to this embarrassing thread.

It's fun to see these oppressors show their true selves.

I don't know how these guys think. A woman is asking you for state secret information and you just hand it to her without questioning anything.

How do these conversations even happen?

Indian jawan: Hello, Myself Kumar aap sai frandsheep kerna chahta hoon. I am a scientist at DRDO.

Woman: Prove it.

Indian jawan: Yeh dekho.

I guess this topic means more personal to you and you probably seem to know a lot about it so I will take the high road.

You can't deny that It's not hilarious. It takes a special someone to fall for stuff like this. Between terrorizing Kashmiris and wasting time giving away confidential information to fake accounts online I'd much rather Indian soldiers do the latter.

Didn't mean for it to sound stereotypical. Pradeep Kumar is the name of the guy I just post about on this thread so I used him as a reference. Apologies for not clarifying that earlier.

New Delhi: A driver employed at the Ministry of External Affairs was arrested today from Jawahar Lal Nehru Bhawan in New Delhi on espionage charges. He was allegedly transferring information and documents in exchange for money to a Pakistani person who was pretending to be a woman named Poonam Sharma or Pooja.
