How do you rate Nathan Bracken? An ODI great?

Today is his birthday, and when we talk about unfulfilled fast bowling careers the first name we get is Shane Bond. But the 2 time World Cup winner who was part of an Australian bowling attack of Mcgratch, Lee, Warne gets mentioned very little.

Very difficult bowler to hit and could had been a T20 star today. Remember the 434 match, he held figures of 5-67

Was world class at his best but didn't have the longevity to be in contention for greatness.

He only won one world cup though (2007) and I am pretty sure he never played with Shane Warne.

The actual Australian attack for that 2007 world cup was McGrath - Bracken - Tait - Hogg - Symonds/Watson

Bracken, Bravo, Faulkner etc they're all in the same league of bowlers no good batsman want to face because they are jist bluffing with you all the time.

Can you expand on what you mean by this. Is it bowlers that use slower balls and variations?
Even if it is it is very unfair to group Bracken with these guys as he was actually very good, one of the best bowlers in the world

He didn't really play enough games for him to be called a great.

He was a good LOI bowler though.

Bracken was a quality ODI bowler. Sehwag had really hard time playing against him with the new bowl.

Bracken did play with Warne in a few ODI's in the 2001-03 period but I guess there was no way he could get into that team. By the time he became a regular, Warne had retired from ODI's.

I am actually surprised to see that he only played 140 ODI's because this guy was a lot better than Mitch Johnson in ODI's at that time.

He knew how to swing the ball and the Indian legends had a very difficult time facing this guy.

I remember he was once the top 1 odi bowler

Damn effective bowler. But didn't stand out because Australia had McGrath, Gillespie, Lee, Johnson and Tait. This guy was naturally slower than all of them and, as a consequence, declined much earlier

Australia have had many legendary pacers. So, Bracken doesn't make the cut. But, he was a great ODI bowler.
