Just curious really...

Considering the amount of conflict Pakistan has within its own borders...how do soldiers get treated once they have left the service?...this is especially in relation to those on the frontline?...

Are there issues of PTSD and how is it dealt with?...

I got relatives in the military, they get treated pretty well. Most of them have gone into business after retirement or work with the govt. They also get a lot of perks like discounts on buying property and shopping at military supermarkets (That's a thing), some of my cousins went to military schools and I believe they didn't even have to pay any tuition.

Majority of the men from my extended family are retired or serving in Pak Army. Most of them get another job pretty quickly and officers of higher ranks mostly setup their own businesses after retiring from army. PTSD and these mental health issues are not that common in Pak army so they don't face any issues coming back to normal life. After 2004 almost every soldier from pak army served a couple of years in FATA being part of the war against terrorism.

I would assume PTSD is more common with soldiers from 1st world countries. A country like Pakistan which has seen first hand combat so close and for quite a while I assume the soldiers are very hardened already.

True that's one of the reason Pak Army is the best battle hardened force in world.

Mental health diseases like PTSD are hardly considered an illness in our part of the world.

The other thing is being born and raised in Pakistan prepares you better mentally to see something shocking. Living in the vest where you have not even seen an animal being slaughtered and you suddenly see horrifying stuff in war would freak you out. And people cannot comes in terms with how to handle it.

In our part of the world handling tragedy is much easier. It goes something like this: "Allah ki marzi thi" "Ham kya kar sakte hain" And they move on hahaha.
