What's new

How highly do you rate Inzamam-ul-Haq?

I rate Lara, Tendulkar, Dravid and Ponting all higher the him. He was Pak's best batsman from that generation. With Miandad he was Pak's best batsman of all time.Could have been much better had it not been for poor fitness and awful running between the wickets. Strangely he appears much fitter now then he was during his playing days.

VVS dominated Aus there is no doubt but, other than Aus he has 4 test centuries combined against SA, NZ, Eng and Pak. Based upon your own logic of only considering Aus and SA then VVS>Dravid as well because VVS had more centuries (Thats another matter he had mighty number of 6 just against Aus)

Anyways, discussions are always healthy and at the end everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. Peace.

I don't get it when you say - by your own logic. Because I am not judging these two batsmen with any dodgy logic or just the one parameter.

In fact, I had no hesitation in conceding that as an overall bat across formats, Inzamam is better.

But as far as tests are concerned, VVS inhabits an entirely different galaxy compared to Inzamam. And I say this not because of VVS's outstanding body of work against the toughest opponent of his era. I say this because VVS played far more matches against the better teams of his time. He also played far more matches in SENA conditions than Inzamam. So, once again, pardon me for having a chuckle at your argument that Inzamam is better because he averages 3 runs more.

Fair enough so whats your stance on VVS vs Dravid? VVS have had more centuries against toughest opponents Aus and SA.
