As a long time odi fan growing up watching cricket from the 90s.

250 for an odi, was competitive score back then and chasing 280 was a very daunting task.

Think back to the 2011 world cup semi final were India successfully defended 260 and the 2019 cricket world cup final were 241 tied matched was a classic odi game full of tension, drama.

2023 world semi final Aus Vs SA, SA nearly defended 213.

2011 world cup QF, NZ successfully defended 220 against SA.

Tactics, strategy, middle overs. Tinker, tanker. Both teams can think, plan.

I just think 20 20 is whack bang cricket.

I don't know how to enjoy 20 20 cricket as so much international teams place emphasis on this.

I started to watch cricket in 1997. So, I grew up with ODI and Test.

If you ask me, I prefer ODI and Test the most.

I do not like T20 much. But, I recognize T20 is likely to be the future and it is here to stay. So, I watch it and try to enjoy it. :inti

You first need true wicket with a bit of pace and bounce, where true stroke players express themselves and hacks get exposed. Ofcourse atmosphere has to be good. Having said that international cricket can never meet the standard of franchisee cricket due to gap between teams. League cricket generally produce higher quality thrillers in comparison.

Sharjah cup every year
Austral Asia cup
Benson and hedges world series/C and U series/CB series
Morocco cup
Singapore cup(if I'm not mistaken)
DLF cup
Asia cup in Sharjah
Odi tri series in Sri Lanka
Standard Bank odi tri series in SA
Odi series
Icc knock out trophy
TV5/S cup

Odi series and odi tournaments you country would participate in every year

Very enjoyable for neutral cricket fans

Good old days. Those were the days.

90's cricket was just amazing. Today's junk cricket can't compete with 90's vibe.

Modern day cricket has been ruined with overcommercialization and petty politics.

It’s usually easier to enjoy when your team does well.
Majority Pakistanis enjoyed this for 10-15 years but league cricket esp for folks who grew up 90s or before can be harder to enjoy.

T20 cricket requires planning ask the Pakistani cricketer playing for usa, his interview shed a lot of light on an associate teams planning for PCT.

This is not true at all.

I enjoyed Test and ODI always even though Bangladesh was never a top team. My team doing well or doing poorly has no relation to my love for this sport. :inti

Not everyone is a blind nationalist like the Indians. :inti

Bangladesh has never been good in any format to win a major trophy so it doesn’t apply to Bangladeshis.

T20 franchise is the most difficult to enjoy. I am not sure how people can support a business passionately. It is not in my DNA, I see it the same way I see nerds arguing about Android vs. Apple, as if they are arguing about their fathers' companies.

T20 international is actually very enjoyable. We need to accept that the good old days are gone and reconcile ourselves to the fact that this is modern cricket. It takes a special set of skills to hit boundaries on demand. Even though we were losing, I really enjoyed some of the Indian batting yesterday. It was proper cricket shots.

Those who can only do whack bang get found out very quickly.

DLF cup played in 2006.

Still odi tournaments, tri series existed around this time.

I will watch today's T20 and see if i can enjoy this brand of cricket.

Morocco cup

I remember this series. Morocco had a beautiful ground. Simple but beautiful.

I wish they would arrange more cricket tournaments there. Maybe even T20 tournaments. It can also promote cricket in Morocco.

Morocco only hosted one series --> Pakistan, SL, South Africa. It was a great tri-series. SL won.

ODI tournaments exist even now, Last Asia cup was ODI tournament did you enjoy it more than 2016 or 2022 one?

Move on with times, don't keep this boomer mentality.

T20 franchise cricket is non-serious trash, yes (people still enjoy it).. but international T20 tournaments are really a thing and competitive cricket is played there.

Just don't expect top competitiveness in T20 leagues.

you enjoy this version of cricket by not taking it seriously

unfortunately there's a lot of money attached to this version of cricket because it is designed for not the sport itself but for the viewers

the same thing goes with how to play T20 cricket? You have to take it lightly

I can see it from personal experience that the T20 version of cricket is not even a sport. you don't feel physically exerted after the game

actually if you are used to playing the longer version of the game, it's almost the same as if a friend of yours promised to take you for a steak dinner and asked you to leave after the appetizer salad. this is how you feel after a T20 game if you have an appetite for cricket

there's a reason that T20 cricket was invented in Pakistan for the month of Ramazan. It requires less physical exertion.

T20 cricket is essentially extended gully cricket.

I used to play 40-over cricket myself (used to play in Toronto league) and I find T20 too short even as a player. I prefer to watch more overs and play more overs.

Sadly, T20 virus has infected the cricket world and I think it is too late to reverse the damage. Too much money in T20.

I just hope Test will not go extinct due to T20. I also hope T10, The Hundred etc. will not take over international cricket.

T20 too short.

Bowlers only bowl 4 overs if I'm correct.

At least in 50 overs, you can tinker, tanker. For a spinner set up a slip, short leg and strategies your bowling for a few overs. Try to make a game plan.

Bowl more overs to try to take a wicket or two.

Bowlers can bowl 10 overs.

it's more similar to tapeball cricket in grounds.

Allow me to introduce you to the Hundred 😀😀

I love international T20. Don’t like franchise leagues much anymore, in-fact I hardly watch any leagues much!

It’s not fun, you won’t be able to enjoy it.
-a lot of hit me bowling
-edges flying
-high scores
-toss generally very important
-can be played at shorter grounds

Not sure how this comment is related to what I posted. Haha!

Let me write it again.

Whether Bangladesh is good or not (in any format) has no relevance to my love for cricket. I am not a blind nationalist like the Indians. :inti

T20 is garbage. But, it is here to stay sadly.

England made two mistakes - 1) allowed Indians to hijack cricket, and 2) introduced T20. :inti

World cricket is paying the price for these two mistakes.

Is that why world cricket craves for India to tour them? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
