Catching on to this wonderful sport because of the world cup but want to watch club games after this is over.

Dont know which club to support or league to watch, can anyone give me a good rundown?

Thanks!

No one can tell you which team to support. You need to watch a lot of football. You live in NA,so you can start with the MLS.Or you can watch EPL,La Liga,Serie A,Ligue 1 etc.It all depends on you.

But you can watch MLS first, since it's closer to home.

I personally started following Real Madrid since 2008,when I saw a match live in the Santiago Bernebeu
against Sporting Gijon.

English Premier League bro, and join the official Fantasy Football League when it opens next month. We usually have a private league here and it's a good way to get into it as an added bonus. Upto you which team you want to follow though.

It is not necessary to support any team. I have seen so many Pakistani 'fans' of European clubs(specially English clubs) who are obsessed with 'their' teams to the point where they cannot seem to appreciate the beauty of football. Moreover, it all seems so artificial as clearly these 'fans' do not have any direct affiliation with their team. Just enjoy the pure and basic nature of the game. Yes as the poster above mentioned, Fantasy football is a good way to get started.

This world cup has been excellent so far, which league you choose to watch is totally up to you. I however started following TFC (i live in Toronto) when they were added to MLS as an expansion team. People made fun of MLS (rightly so) but I didn't really care, I just wanted to watch soccer.I have a hard time getting behind a team whose city I have no affiliation with. (which is why I dont watch European leagues)

If you are young enough to run around a bit, find a local recreational soccer league in!

True. Just enjoy the game. Follow a specific tournament and you will be on your way.

Follow the most entertaining league which imo is the Premier League in England and also the MLS which is your local league. You should support a local Canadian team whether it's a MLS team or a local league team. Go and watch them play, learn the players names, learn the formation, tactics used by the manager etc. The more knowledge you have of any sport , the more you will enjoy it. Also try and play football yourself even for a kick around in the park.
