If anyone could help me or guide me, I'm facing alot of hairfall issues, And it seems my hair's are breaking away, As I push my hands through I get a couple of hairs in my hand, While having shower/shampoo a bundle of hairs break down in my hand. What could be the solution? I do have dandruff as well but from a long time, However I'm facing extreme hair loss from this year only.

Use pure Sarso (mustard) oil . And by pure I mean the one we get in villages and not the bottled one.Worked for me.

1. Consult a Doctor Immediately.

2. I can advice you specific shampoo which will help your cause but this is not a ethical practice.

3. It needs to be established whether the Hair fall is due to excess of testosterone or due to dandruff.

4. Dandruff has many types aswell. If it's Seborrheic dermatitis than it will mean more hairfall. (Doc will diagnose)

5. In case of SD, you will be given prescription of extemporaneous Hair balm (drugs) which you will have to apply on scalp.

Use Shampoo in liquid form after diluting it and don't let it remain on your scalp for more than 40 seconds max.

A Good Dermatologist needed.

If its Testosterone related that you will have to find Shoaib Malik's Doc who did exceptional Mesotherapy plus PRP with him making him youngsta beauty once again :)

My hair was also falling but then I switched to organic shampoo which doesn't have alot of chemicals. I also put a mixture of pure olive oil and coconut oil on my hair atleast once or twice in a week. Thankfully my hair fall has come down to a bare minimum and the hair are thick and healthy now.

If you have hair loss in your family then no matter what you do you cannot fight it. My father's side has no issues with hair loss (Allah ka shukar) so my situation was a bit concerning for me.

I started taking Biotin 10,000 MCG when I faced this issue, it worked for me. Not only hair, my nails grow so fast now.

In my case, reason for hair-fall was nutritional deficiency, I lost 20 KGs last year.

I see you bought the economy size bottle with a year's supply of the supplement.

Probably got free shipping on Amazon.

Why has nobody suggested badaam yet?

A friend of mine applies onion ras (juice) once or twice a week.. seems like it works apply for 30 odd mins then shampoo your hair

Just let your hair fall off and grow a beard and look like Hashim Amla :)

Surprised no one suggested Multani mitti yet.
Best treatment for dandruff.

Sorry for derailing the thread but I also have a hair related problem.

I used to have extreme silky hair and trust me when I say this because I looked like a Japanese manga character but now my hair is very wavy, sticky and just disgusting in general. I've started to hate my hair. I have a HUGE dandruff problem, not just in the winters but the summers too and I have tried almost everything. I've tried mustard oil. I've tried coconut oil. I've tried egg yolks. I've mixed stuff up together. I bathe with cold water. I even got bald for this in hopes that my new hair would be silky like how I used to have it and dandruff free. I've switched shampoos. I've even taken a medicine called hair aid. Yet, after 1 day of not shampooing, my hair turns into some frenzy and feels like I haven't showered in ages and my hair is just ugly as hell in general currently to the point where I'm extremely frustrated.

Any thoughts on how to help with this?

Never heard of this in Pakistan. Willing to give it a shot. Surprisingly, everyone labels their own treatment as the best one yet none have worked for thus far.

TalentSpotterPk Wow, Thank you for a detailed reply. I don't know why my hair are breaking down like this, Can you tell me detail of your point #2? I think my hair are too weak right now.

It works? I too think this excess hairfall and loss of mine is due to weakness, over stress and lack of proper care for health.

No. Diagnosis is needed.

TalentSpotterPk I don't know if I could find a good dermatologist in my area. I consulted one and she suggested me using this shampoo for dandruff and tube to apply in scalp for 2 weeks however until now it's been 11 days and no result.

Is your dad bald? If so, at what age he started balding?

Don't fret over hair loss. Embrace it. Lots of bald guys shave their head off and still look cool.

Father died when he was 31-32. However he was not bald although he had hairfall issue (Maybe normal hair loss which would make a person bald at 45-50+), And no one else in family is bald either except grandfather who is now 80years old so probably understandable he lost hair and eyes sight with age...

Sorry about your Dad.

As someone said, visit a dermatologist and confirm if the hair loss is due to Seborrhea. If not, check for Hypothyroidism. One of the major culprits in hair loss at a young age. If any of your family members have Hypothyroidism, its good to get that checked out.

Don't you live in Islamabad ?

I am not going to do marketing of doctors here but there are many good dermatologists in twin cities.

Do not act on anybody's advice online wrt shampoos, supplements or drugs.

If she is Specialist than go back to her and let her know that the situation hasn't improved. She will than ask for a blood test or scalp test or both and would than change the therapy.

If you think she is not adequately trained or isn't updated wrt knowledge than go to someone else.

Desi totkay yes you can do, won't harm you as they are natural products (if not adulterated)

Eat healthy balanced diet, sleep at night and atleast 7-8 hours, do exercise it would help.

If baldness is inherited trait than you cannot stop it through any medicine or shampoo etc.

Chose a good doctor and trust him/her. Sometimes it takes 4-5 weeks for therapy to work.

Meray liye kya mushkil hai koi dawaee shampoo tajweez kerna. Jo hein wo bhee gir jaein ge and gaaleeaan mujhay nuqsaan yours.

What was her diagnosis ? And unhoun ne kya kaha tha k next kub aana ?

TalentSpotterPk Nah sir, I live far away from twin cities, 400-450kms away. And she only said to trat dandruff and suggested the two things I mentioned in previous post. Asked to revisit after 2 weeks and there on we will see what to do and so on, I'm skeptical about this because I have dandruff from my early teenage it's always been a bit of issue however this massive hair loss and such extreme one started only in last year or half.

Well, I don't have any sort of exercise , I'm very hardcore with my studies and other areas of career and so on.

I'm not at all familiar with medical terms. Will be happy if you could educate me a bit further

I have a small patch of alopecia on the back of my head. All others areas are full hair, no issues. Anyone know of any remedies?

Back when I was actively fighting hairloss, I did a lot of research, and there is a combination of three medications that works best, provided, and this is important, that it really is androgenic allopecia, i.e. Male Pattern Baldness.

First, you need a DHT inhibitor, DHT being the testosterone variant that attacks the hair roots. Propecia (chemical name Finasteride) is the best known. Next, you need a regrowth agent, the best known is Rogaine (Minoxidil). Finally, to keep the scalp healthy with an anti-inflammatory, you need Nizoral (Ketoconazole).

All of these work together to prevent it... but with caveats. Propecia has side-effects, which you really should read about. They claim it only effects 1% of people, but so many people report horror stories of how their side-effects never resolved even after going off it. Second, after about ten years or so, these meds stop working. It let me keep the hairloss at bay for longer than that, until one day, I decided to just give up, shave my head, and move on with life. Now I can't imagine a life with hair, strange as it may sound. There's just so much more freedom with a shaven head.

I too had a small patch approx 1 inch of alopecia areata at the side of my head which was worrying for me, the doctor asked me to have a blood test and prescribed me a cream to apply which i did regularly for about 2 month . Allhamdulillah it's completely gone .

I would suggest you go to a doctor and seek advise.

Is it alopecia areata? If so, better get it taken care of, or the infection that caused it can spread.

Hamza_ just take it all off or blade 1 all over, go for this look:

That's the way to go with the shaved head, did you ever consider a hair transplant?

I researched it, and the consensus amongst the experts is that its best to wait until you're fully bald, because otherwise, the existing hair undergoes trauma and falls out, or will eventually fall out naturally, resulting in a silly patchy look. I've seen transplants performed in Pakistan on people who were nowhere near that stage, and that is totally unethical on part of the doctors.

I'm not fully bald, but I don't even care anymore. Even if were, and had the money to spare, I doubt I would go for it, because I'm told I look better with the shaven head than I did when I had hair, and it saves such a lot of time: you can step out of the shower and not have to worry about drying the hair, and its a pleasure doing any sort of sport, it is one less thing to worry about.

Its quite shocking to me that in this day and age no pharmaceutical company has come with a viable solution to hair loss or hair regrowth. If and when that day comes the profits for that company would be astronomical.

do they really stop working after 10 years?, and Nizoral can you use that even if you don't have hair loss but suffer from dandruff?

Transplants seem to be very popular amongst south asian blokes isn't it, I think it could be due to how folk in the subcontinent belittle the bald look :)) My hair is quiet thin so I just take it all off now and it suits me but confused about whether or not I should go for a transplant am in my 20's as well, the one thing I find annoying is taking it all off regularly because if you let it grow it just looks weird once you've get to that stage where there is severe loss.

True the transplant can be seen unncesaary it all depends on how you feel as well I have a friend that was just way too insecure and went for it despite the fact that he was not fully bald and experienced the trauma you just mentioned. Do you have a Jasan Statham body to go with your bald look :afridi

There's a difference between a cure, and a treatment. There's no cure (unless one considers transplants a cure), but there are plenty of treatments, most of which do work.

They actually now know the exact gene that triggers it, they just don't know yet why it chooses to manifest itself at a particular time, such that the DHT starts attacking the hair root.

do they really stop working after 10 years?, and Nizoral can you use that even if you don't have hair loss but suffer from dandruff?

Yes, ten years or so and the effects start tailing off, so that they're no longer as effective.

Nizoral is great for a healthy scalp. The prescription-strength one is much better than the off-the-counter one.

Anyone that has SD, happy to help. Got it when I turned 13. 7 or 8 years of dermatologists and steroid creams didn't solve anything except giving me mild and permanent skin atrophy. Have been 100 percent clear for the last 5 years. They told me I could just control it and should learn to live with it. Never going to or recommend anyone with the condition to go to dermatologists. And please do not use a steroid cream on your face for more than a week

Right, amongst South Asians, it is a given that you'll be abused for any perceived physical shortcoming. Too tall? Too short? Too dark? Too light-skinned? Too overweight? Too underweight? Stand back because here come the snide remarks. In the West, it is refreshing because no one really cares, except maybe the fat shaming, which can at least be partially explained: your weight is something you can control, unlike hair, skin tone, height etc which are entirely genetic.

I don't have the Statham body, but I'm more concerned with having low body fat even if I'm not overly muscular. Over the last few years, I've gone from 250lb to 150lb, so at 5'11'', I'm happy with it.

Seborrheic dermatitis? I've known people who had it, and yes the steroidal cream just ruins the skin. You get acne instead, which doesn't resolve itself even after years of giving up the medication.

That's very very low, do you have abs and ripped at the core? either looks are fine so long you're healthy but am not a fan of someone overly bulky, I like Statham look in that regard

No can't be as I've had this patch for over a year and nothing else. Being at the back of my head, I don't notice it but feel it when I wash my hair.

I'm getting there. Abs are the final frontier, the rest of my muscles, while not impressive in size, are visible because of the low body fat. After all these years, I finally got to see what my face looks like. If my calculations are right, I'm at about 12% body fat. Because I carried most of the fat in the midsection, I think I'll have to go down to 8% for the abs to be visible. 10% probably won't be enough.

Ok thanks will do. I just never go doctors.

lol I'm the same as I just feel it's never that urgent to do so and Alhamdulillah I recover pretty quickly from colds and flu.

The alopecia which i had, started very small almost pea size and my mother noticed it first however I just thought it would go away. About a year later I noticed it was getting worse and that's when i decided it's time to knock on the docs door.

In last six months it's happened with me as well. And there's a male pattern baldneess pattern I think.

The situation at the moment is there there is a small bald spot of hardly an inch not on the right side of my hair around the part where you part the hair (in the left side it's almost negligible but I assume that this will be the pattern too there)

Currently the situation is that overall it's so negligible that unless I tell someone or if someone really bothers to stare at my hair for a few minutes you can't even tell. It may not be there anymore

What I fear is that it will get worse in a few years where it might actually be noticeable. So what should I do in that regard

Secondly this small bald patch. No hair grows there now. Is it possible for it to regrow somehow naturally or is it done for good?

Finally. What do people say about having a clean head shave. Does the hair regrow better and thick? Quick internet search says no and it's just an illusion when the hair is short. But quite a few people I know in real life say that it did make a difference

Haven't really thought a whole lot about it and perhaps don't even care a lot at this point either to be honest but might as well ask in a thread like this

If the reason for hairfall is not excess testosterone than even few weeks of DHT inhibitor can cause Impotence. :amir2

You do realise than in countries like Pak and probably Ind & Bd aswell DHT inhibitor can be bought wuthout prescription. :inti

کچھ بال واپس آجائیں گے اور کچھ گرنے بھی کم ہوجائیں گے مگر بیڑا پار ہوجائے گا :asif

Even if you have high Testosterone even than chronic use which is necessity to keep control results in impotence in longterm.

In Pakistan DHT inhibitor spray is not available which has lesser side effects becsuse lesser DHT inhibitor is available in systenic circulation and major part binds to receptors present in scalp. Even long term spray use can be detrimental sexually but much safer than tablets.

Another thing with DHT spray aswell as Minoxidil aswell is wothdrawl effects. Once you stop using them you experience more hairfall than what was the case previously.

So the best option if one doesn't have a big " katora " is 3-5 sessiona of Mesotherapy + PRP and not the hair transplant. In Pakistan it is much much cheaper. But life permitting final results would take 6 months to1 year and the looks would be more natural than transplant. And than frequent use of minoxidil spray along with balanced diet rich in vitamins for maintenance.

Shoaib Malik is a classical example.

Alhamdulilah im a pretty healthy person. I play sport, go gym 6 days a week, eat healthy etc. Once I went 4 years without any cold or flu. If I need medicine I just go to the pharamcy and buy whatever they recommend. If you don't mind me asking what is the cream called?

This is one of those old wives' tales that are so prevalent in Pakistan. There is no way it can lead to thicker hair. What does happen however is that some people lose a bit of hair not because of Male Pattern Baldness but because they grew it out and didn't take care of it etc. These people aren't really balding, that hair will grow back anyhow, after the root has been dormant for six months. For such people, starting off with a clean slate, so to speak, does help. But something as genetically driven as androgenic alopecia cannot possibly be resolved by shaving it off.

That's very impressive congrats; hopefully you get the 8% as well. What has your diet and training been like?

Ketogenic diet, and Starting Strength. Nothing more than that, but I was meticulous with it, counting my macros and calories and performing the workouts religiously.

Great to know though. MashaAllah.

Ketogenic diet, and Starting Strength. Nothing more than that, but I was meticulous with it, counting my macros and calories and performing the workouts religiously.

What do you make of the 5x5 program? will be graduating soon now so there will more time on my hands thanfully to train and stuff so was thinking of giving that program a go and going on a low carb high protein diet. Will research Ketegenic diet and starting strength has been mentioned to me before

Brother what can I do if I have white hairs in my early 20s, not a few but many?

Mesotherapy + Prp.

Shaiby boy :malik

Else live with it.

Refer to my post where I have quoted nostalgic discussing DHT inhibitors.

There are several 5x5 variants, the one most famous these days is Mehdi's Stronglifts. It is great to start off with, but you'll find that once the weights get heavy, it is just too much. Starting Strength is 3x5, and much more manageable and just as effective, if not more so. One change I made was instead of the power cleans, I persisted with the row. Power cleans are not an easy exercise to master.

Keto is the same thing as low carb. I did Atkins, which is the best known keto diet. If you do try it, I should tell you that it isn't easy initially to do any sort of workout, because you will have lost the glycogen, and it takes a while for body fat to be efficient enough to fuel a strenuous workout, but it gets easier with time.

MashaAllah that's good ..I wish I could tell you but it was around 8 years ago and I can't remember . It was a white and blue toothpaste like tube. Sorry brother.

Brother what can I do if I have white hairs in my early 20s, not a few but many?

Since you have very few so It shouldn't be a concern. If they are increasing than you should worry abit.

Do you have chronic or frequent flu or cold issues ? If that is the case get it treated and the issue will be resolved.

If you have any pets which are cause of flu than you have to get rid of them I am afraid.

If these aren't the issues and you live in Pakistan than :

Apply original mehndi after every 3 to 4 weeks while mixing it with coffee. Mehndi is conditioner too and your hair texture would improve too. Just after first and wnd wash post mehndi ensure that you dry your hair completely after washing it using hair dryer at low speed. (MEHNDI should be original)

Whay it would do is that it would give those few hair dark brown colour and you will look more dashing than now :-)

Otherwise hair colour is the option.

I am few years elder than you and I have like 2-4 white hair which sometime disappear altogether but they do not matter me :-)

Another thing try to take less stress. To relieve stress sports or exercise is best and do sleep 7-8 hours at night.

If it's flu associated if would vanish the moment flu issue is resolved.

If you have only very few white hair than just don't worry yaar. Chill.

I'm not at all familiar with medical terms. Will be happy if you could educate me a bit further

TalentSpotterPk Yes it's written seborrhic dermatitis.

It can be anxiety, stress, lack of sleep if it the case hair generally grow back after.

Oiling and hairfall shampoos are all temporary options. They can delay the process of balding, but not prevent it altogether. Unfortunately, it is a genetic process and you cannot do anything to prevent it. Hair transplant remains the only viable solution.

1. She would have prescribed you a Ketoconazole shampoo.

Use it once weekly and use PhotonicMax shampoo once weekly

2. The balm for this is not available so doctors give you a prescription. You than go to a pharmacy and they formulate it fresh. (Expenporaneous preparation)

You have to apply that every 3rd day at night and than wash our hair in the morning with Ketoconazole shampoo and 3 days later with photonic max shampoo. If the dandruff is extreme than balm 3 times weekly with two times Ketoconazole wash and intermittent wash with photonic max shampoo.

InshaAllah within 3-4 weeka time your Seborrhic Dermatitis will be gone and hair fall will be reduced significantly.

If your dermatitis doesn't leave you alone than look for Heisenberg brothers advice here. Hopefully he will post tomorrow.

If Dandruff issue gets solved and still there is hairfall than try Viviscal for men 1 capsule daily. It would give strength to your hair with optimum nutrition.

Hope it will help you.

TalentSpotterPk She has given me stieprox shampoo and Valisone Lotion. The lotion/cream is to be applied on scalp which is pretty tough although I managed to do so but results not yet there.

I'm using shampoo twice a week.

Shampoo is fine. Not amused by valisone lotion.

Salicylic acid hair balm is formulated with couple other ingredients Markhor

Its Vaseline like wax/balm which you apply on scalp.

And see Heisenberg has history of last 5 years completely vlear of SD so wait for his post.

So I should try balm?

Also TalentSpotterPk what could be the possible cause of this SD? The hairs I've lost in process would be retrieved or what? And why is it that my hairfall picked up at a very high rate in recent times though dandruff itself has been with me from sometime?

It's quite common.

Because the thing exacerbated with time.

Balm yes. Don't remember exact formulation. Markhor will tell you but its better if your doc prescribes you. Hopefully she does on next visit else change doc.

Yes majority lost due to dermatitis will be back. Not all.

But if male pattern baldness is also in action than those due to that won't comeback.

it's pretty much impossible to lose hair on finasteride as it near enough totally quells the hormones responsible . i have been on it for about 4 years and it's completely halted my hairloss

TalentSpotterPk how do I know if it's male pattern baldness?

How old are you?

Mix jojoba oil + olive oil + lavender oil + vitamin E + castor oil in round about equal quantities (jojoba a bit less). Apply regularly. Forget hairfall, in some cases it possibly helps to regrow hair.

And nowadays even a completely bald man has affordable options like PRP (plasma rich platelets) treatment which regrows hair naturally. Although you would lose it again in few years if you have male pattern baldness but its affordable to do it again for few more years.

Better yet, sport a bald look and dont give a damn..i dont have a hairloss problem but i shave my head every winter. Its the best feeling ever..no tension of maintaining hair at all lol but i guess its a good feeling only when u know your hairstyles are in your control.
