I strongly believe if India continues to try dodge us in the World Cup they will very well end up losing the cup. It is psychological more than anything. They have played us almost every single time since the 1992 edition, with one break coming in the 2007 edition. Pakistan and India clashes creates intensity and a drive to bring honor to a player’s respective nation.
Without this clash they will not fight as hard as they would if they had faced us. Same with Pakistan. And we saw this in the last prestigious ICC event in 2017. After the initial clash both teams charged to the final with Pakistan having it’s day without any controversies.
You need a high octane match like this to pump the adrenaline for the rest of the tournament. There’s a reason England and Australia also do well in series following the Ashes. Look it up.
