Seems like a question which would have been laughed at a few years ago but this is a real question!

From what I see Bhuv , Shami and Jasprit will hurt Pakistan unless Pakistan batsmen come up with a plan.

Lots of work for Mickey & Co in that area.

Azhar, Babar, Sarfraz and Imad will be key.

I have no hope for Shehzad, Hafeez and Malik against pace.

I'm beginning to think we may need Azhar to "blunt the new ball" lol.. Considering what happened to the Deshis.

If we limp our way to 280 odd our bowling is good enough to make a match out of it.

Shami at his current fitness will not be a major threat, and may not even play. The most impressive Indian pacer for last many months has been Umesh and the only reason people don't take him seriously is his "spraygun" reputation. This can be a mistake.

They won't. The likes of Hafeez and Shehzad cannot deal with the swing of Bhuvi upfront and will get bundled out cheaply.

This is India's best bowling attack in years. Our bowling is looking stronger than our batting this time. I have no hope from guys like Rahane though. He just doesn't look like an ODI player.

Shami and Bumrah are the only threats. Umesh and Kumar are not good ODI bowlers. Jadeja and Ashwin will be handled easily.

It is not the era of giving respect to bowlers anymore, it seems. The only way out for us against any team is to attack right from the start, no matter who the bowler is.

The scary part is we don't have a single solid player who can leave the ball well, yes, including Azhar who has a habit of giving it away in limited overs matches. The only hope is for us to bat in flat conditions and hope for cloud cover when they come out to bat. I was truly scared when I saw Umesh Yadav bending the ball today. Real real threat!

Relax every body ! If Azhar cant handle swing upfront i am afriad we dnt have any body who can play swing.
We are not going to play swing for the first time. These playera had 3-4 overseas tours so dnt be much kf a problem.
Main issue is 3 out of 4 of our top order eat up most of the balls. If they play at 90 SR from start we we beat India

India's winning this based on form. Just a much better unit overall and with better experience.

Looks like the Indians are in a mid-season form the way they knocked of BD ...... without Kohli, Dhoni, Yuvraj etc !!!!!
I hope their performance does not put a fear in our guys .... specially when batting ..... that too if we bat First !!!!

Do not play dot balls and score at 6 an over.

With Pak at 150/1 or something at 25th over, India may panic.

In the middle overs, Ashwin is not in good form. He is trying too many variations and can bowl hit me balls. Jaddu should be played like a darter (like Imad).

If Pak are at 200/3 at 35th over, India will surely panic. But its a tall ask for Pak batsman.

If India bat first, Pak may not win this. All India needs is 250 runs on the board and India will defend it against most sides except England/Aus/SA.

India's pacers are going to eat our batsmen alive, with a sprinkle of chocolate syrup to top it off. They have such a strong pace attack, second only to Australia (maybe on par with it). Have absolutely no hope from our batsmen to handle the threat posed by them. I'm expecting a performance similar to Bangladesh's.

Play every ball on merit trying to score as many as possible. Don't get stuck on when end, it is important to keep rotating the strike. India still has no extreme pacer in the side.

Nah, i suspect that the Pakistani batsmen will rise to the occasion on the day. Its the Pakistani bowling i am worried about

Ahh, so he's a little like Wahab?

flatter pitch in Edgbaston than Oval for sure so not sure how good the pacers will be

Shami, Yadav, and Mohit formed a sensational trio in the group stages of the 2015 WC...but the Aussies attacked them in the semifinals.

if Pakistan come out looking to bat out 50 overs they will be destroyed...only chance is to attack the Indian seamers from the start.

will be Babar's biggest test yet.

I do believe Steve Smith is a level higher than Pakistani batsmen.

There is no "threat" of indian "pacers". Our batsmen will score 375/6 quite comfortably. It's the indians who will be bowled out for 124/10

:azhar2 :babar :shezzy :hafeez2 :malik :amir3 :hasan

If Umesh gets a little juice, he will be deadly. Bhuvi has increased the pace. Shami, Pandya, Bumra can all clock 145 kph.

I do believe that these numbers are a mite inflated.

Even if they can bowl one ball of 145kph that is enough :) I mean average speed of Indian bowlers have increased. Umesh has gained accuracy. Not long ago Shami was the only decent fast bower for India in the ODIs. Now we have 3 more.

Worrying about Indian trundlers ?? Never seen in PP atleast.

Pakistan is 100 times BD and dont read too much into warmup matches

Pakistan has to bowl first.. if they bat first pak will bu dle out for 150 or 200 at max.

Simple. Get out as soon as possible.
On a serious note, play out the starting over and hope for no cloud cover while batting.

Don't have high hopes from our bowlers. They do perform but in pressure situations, I'll trust any bowling more than that of ours.

Batting is our key. It must click.

If Pakistani batsman can deal with Brett Lee and Shaun Tait in his prime, Indian pace attack will not be a problem at all.

Indian bowling looks very solid so far. Pakistan will do well to cross 300 against them.

LOL When was the last time Pakistani batsmen like Shahzad, Sarfaraz, Azhar, Babar Haris, Imad played Brett lee and Shaun tait ?

openers need to avoid playing across the line towards covers. Indian bowlers are limited with their swinging capability and even pace so nothing will come above 144 kph in swinging. Umesh can generate some pace but his swinging capability is limited to conventional new ball outswing. Shami can ball in-seam deliveries but his pace is lower than umesh.

never saw Bhuvneshwar much, can he do inswing and at what pace ? His stats are awful with a ~40 average.

If pakistani openers and top order in general can avoid coming needlessly on front foot trying to guide the 135-142 kph outswingers towards cover then they will deal with indian pace attack very easily.

They have to play aggressive cricket just to surprise them otherwise there is no match between the two teams india is to strong

If you lose wickets to the pace attack then the bowlers have actually bowled well and no harm in losing to a stronger pace attack but in recent years what has really surprised me is that Pakistani batsmen get strangled by Indian spinners but it rarely works the other way around. The only time I remember Pakistani spinners cut down our scoring was at Mohali. Since then all the CT 2013, World T20 matches and the last World Cup match was pretty much lost because of how much difference there was in the spin playing ability of the teams. I remember Ashwin bowling maidens to Shehzad last World Cup and the batsmen lost the plot completely. They need to keep taking singles and twis and unsettle the spinners.

Pakistan has a plan:
30 for 1 in first ten overs
100 for 3 in the next 25 overs
50 for 4 in next ten overs
25 for remaining wickets in last 5
205 all out by playing solid sensible cricket.

205 All Out!!

Aren't you being a tad optimistic here?

Give a go to the openers. Lets get the ball old quickly by hitting hard. You have too many players who can bat slowly in middle.

Bowl first.

Kohli is a master at chasing high scores. Even if we post 350, Kohli is gonna gun it down cuz chasing targets (that too vs PAK) brings out the best in him.

Restrict India to a score less than or equal to 300 and we will have a match.

How will Pakistan batsmen handle the threat of Indian pace???

by praying for rain... face it; we cant chase and we definitely wont be able to defend a sub-par total(almost a certainty) against their giant batsmen. i am only looking for a fight from Pakistan.

If BK, Bumrah and Yadav bowl the way like they did in IPL, Pak will be demolished.

He question is will they be overwhelmed by the pressure and situation.

Bumrah already choked against BD in that practice game. Will the pressure get the better of Indian bowling?
