Amla, Faf, AB, Morkel, Tahir and JP - All these guys are almost at the twilight of their career. Are there promising players in the South African domestics to cover their role in the team?

I have mentioned this before that SA have a lot of 30 plus players in the side that will need to be phased out. Surely there is someone in SA better than Dumminy. During AB hiatus from tests they played JP in a lot of those tests. Should have played another domestic player.

A period of struggle awaits SA whilst they try to replace AB,Steyn,and Amla.

No one gave benefit of doubt to India when they lost 8-0 to eng and aus when most of their legends were on their last legs

I'm sure had Pakistan been in India's place we would have had thread after thread from certain quarters saying that this victory is fluke because they were playing an unprepared SA missing key players.

We will have to see how they play against other teams first. They won consecutive 16-17 matches at home before this series. They were playing against n.o 1 odi team. Will have to see how they play against other teams,then only we can pass judgement.

More than the quota system, SA cricket has really suffered from the Kolpak problem. If their is not enough money in South African cricket then players will no longer prioritize playing for South Africa and will look for better economic opportunities for their families.

Big reason for current pathetic financial status of CSA is Joker Haroon Logart, good redundance CSA kicked him out !

SA has never had a weak team. And they won't in the near future. Similar questions were asked after Smith and Kallis retired but then SA won test series' in Aus, NZ and nearly in England too. A world-class team can be build around Rabada, Ngidi, Morris, Quinton, Bavuma and Markaram. Also, Faf, Philander, and a couple more won't be retiring in the next 3-4 years. No need to worry! They just came up against a world-class team. Pretty sure everything will look back to normal when Pakistan plays them next year.

Nothing will happen, it's just an aberration. SA will bounce back hard against pacers of other teams as they don't have high quality leggies.

Worry for India , if not for Kohli this is a fluke batting line up who can't score run a ball even in last 10 overs.

They will struggle for a bit during rebuilding but as history suggests, they have a knack for pulling out some gems in the Test arena especially; the challenge for them will be to utilise the talent pool available to them.
