Sufiyan has been unbelievably rubbish. 25 years old with zero FC in his career and it shows.

Just shows how clueless PCB are in developing their own talent. FC competition is rubbish and still players with talent like Sufiyan who need to hone their skills can't even get into the FC side and then look undercooked & wayward at the international level.
you are a great reader of talent

Do you remember before Brexit every single english county team had at least one Kolpak player from SA, and after Brexit they all came running back!

But one issue with the quota system is you end with someone like Bavuma as your Test and Odi Captain🤣
Yeah. I remember well. For me, the quota system was just an excuse for these South African cricketers to get better pay and improve the standard of living for their families.

You get stuff like that. But the hope is getting more Rabadas and Ngidis. It'll take time, but South Africa will find more black match-winners.

You guys should have listened to me when I told you that Abrar and Sufiyan will come good.

Re: Sufiyan, its a given that he will go for runs. But he is a wicket taker and the mystery spin aspect is not something you can look past.

Yep. Full credit to Rizwan how he captained him, and used him.

Congrats Pakistan fans, in any case I didn’t expect them to blitz SA in SA 3-0. Still have some serious reservations, but am going to enjoy it, especially after a magnificent century by Saim, a knock we will remember for some time. Great work by the spinners and some promising signs that the seamers may have their legs under them by some miracle.

Looks like this might be Pskistan squad for CT ... with just one change, Fakhar for Usman.

He bowled rubbish. Just because he got wickets doesn't mean he bowled well. First wicket was a half tracker, 2nd was lucky not to be hit for boundary. He bowled so badly he was out of the attack until Klaasen got out and bowled well to tailenders who struggled to pick him.

Either way, Sufiyan should be bowling in FC regardless to hone his control over line/length. Bowling half trackers half the game isn't always going to lead to wickets.

Glad Rizwan showed more patience and faith in Sufiyan than so-called PP experts. Finished the game with respectable numbers.

No doubt Sufiyan is still raw but he will come good. A few seasons in FC cricket will improve his control. Unfortunate that he was bowling to an ATG player of spin with a wet ball.

Why is sky sports not showing the presentation and the moment the team lifts the trophy 😡

Credit goes to Rizwan for persisting with Sufyan but credit also goes to Sufyan for showing stout character and not letting the flurry of boundaries and long hops deter his confidence. This is something that Shadab and Usama lacked.

As a wrist spinner, you are always at risk of going for plenty but you will also always be likely to pick up wickets, so your head should always be in the game.

Indians will downplay this win stating this was a below par SA team without Nortge, Coetzee, Maharaj while Pakistan played a full strength team.

Out of his 848 balls 26 were dots and 4 were wickets. Take a day off.

A big factor in Pakistan's change in ODI fortunes is getting wickets and control by the spinners in the early and middle overs which Shadab and Usama had not been providing

This wasn't a full team, Abrar, Rauf and someone else wasn't there. In addition we have 4 debutants in their first proper season with us.

Plus you got to mention Riz’s captaincy. He could have easily taken off Sufiyan and given the ball to Agha

The spinners were the biggest reason for Pakistan's failure at the World Cup. Nawaz averaged 112 with the ball and Shadab averaged 119. And these guys were playing as all-rounders which made their performances even more criminal.

You know Zimbu wouldnt even use Sufyan again after few overs when he was being incosistent and hit hard across the ground.
You realize that Babar is the captain who introduced Sufyan and Saim (as a regular) to the PSL. Please do us a favor and stop embarrasing yourself.

I do not see how Maharaj could have done better than Fortuin. Pak won first 2 ODIs on back of young guns anyway. First Saim Ayub and KG in second. so Pak and SA were on Par as far as playing eleven was concerned

but Babar would not have continued with Sufyan after his first 5. Thats reality that you should accept
He would have, he always used his "bowlers" properly. One thing Babar wouldn't have done would be giving Saim a full quota of 10 overs.

Since he wouldn't have done that, he would use Sufyan as a regular bowler.

We again won today because of SA.

1st ODI SA
2nd ODI KG
3rd ODI SA

Young'uns.

LOL you cant use bowlers properly if you cant read the game. Babar is that captain that will stick to original game plan Regardless of situation. we have all seen that before. Rizwan did nt need to bowl sufyan anymore. if Babar did nt need sufyan anymore to complete rest of the overs he would 100% not give him an extra over

You are underestimating here.... Yes we know SA is a choker ....but only in big tournaments ... Not at home....
So give credit where it's due

I don't completely disagree with you but the reason to bring back Sufyan had a lot to do with Shaheen getting smacked left, right and centre.

Rizwan rightly recognized Sufyan’s Effectiveness against tail enders. Nothing to do with Shaheen who ran into klaasen with wet ball that was coming right onto bat

I think this team is settling well now. And couple of players in the squad can be utilised as needed. Shafique needs to go.
Biggest plus is that there are good spinners available now.
Saim is coming up really well. He should continue doing well. Beautiful game awareness.
Rizwan is fantastic as a captain - not sure how his haters are taking up the success.
I thought Shaheen also bowled well picking up critical wickets in all matches.
Agha is also doing great lower down the order - has a strong off-side game.
Well done overall!

Even after Klaasen's dismissal. Shaheen was very expensive.
