Congratulations to Pakistan for becoming the first visiting side to whitewash South Africa in ODIs

Which side will win the 3rd ODI between South Africa and Pakistan?

de Kock's retirement has really hit South Africa hard. The impetus he provided at the top is something they have been missing lately

Who gives a damn if Shaheen is getting smashed? He effectively killed the game with the wicket of Klaasen. He can go at 15 RPO for all I care

There was no sense in Qdk retiring. He had a lot of cricket left in him.

SA players have zero passion to represent their country

This innings had the 2nd highest average swing (first 10 overs ) in an ODI in SA since ball tracking began.
These reinforced kookaburras are quite challenging in the right conditions.

Think the quota system plays a big part in it but QDK was number one on the team sheet.

Still makes no sense

South Africa remind me of Pakistan 10-12 years ago here. Afridi would come and smash around a bit only to lose to poor game awareness

This excuse has been used far too much to justify the fact that alot of South African cricketers just don't have the passion. How does the quota system affect de Kock? He was a No.1 selection in any South Africa white-ball team.

And he is coloured cricketer.

The miller assault in that T20 seems to have dented his confidence as he was also dropped after that game.
You have to be very careful and sensitive with how you handle youngsters.
He’s bowling leg stump lines today bachnay kai liyeah.
Someone needs to show compassion and talk to the lad, or his career is on knives edge today.
Tbh he doesn't have much going for him
He doesn't spin the ball just fired them in.hw hasn't even played much domestics so this is bound to happen.

Isn't he white??

This series and the preceding T20s show quite clearly how ODIs will always be better format than T20s in assessing the quality of teams

As I wrote before SA have deep batting line up and had they batted sensibly they could had chased the score, these two can bat and also Rabada.

Sufiyan has been unbelievably rubbish. 25 years old with zero FC in his career and it shows.

Just shows how clueless PCB are in developing their own talent. FC competition is rubbish and still players with talent like Sufiyan who need to hone their skills can't even get into the FC side and then look undercooked & wayward at the international level.

Every bowler has gone for runs and yet Saim Ayub bowls 10 overs, gets a wicket with a 3.4 economy. Easily MOTM when Pakistan win this.

It's the same with faisal akram who's not getting picked in the domestic competition but somehow is picked for Pakistan. It is understandable if someone is an exceptional talent you bring in him.

What an unneeded experiment to replace Sufyan with Abrar, May cost us the game.

Saim is such a talent though both with bat and ball. Finished with a maiden.

That's Spider-Man alright.

Spider-Man if he was fired from the Daily Bugle and had to live on McDonalds and food stamps.

Sufiyan is inexperienced and of course that makes him nervy. He needs time in domestic cricket to get a better feel for different game situations especially in this format.

For now, Abrar + Saim + Agha is fine for the ODI XI.

Not liking the field placement for Naseems over, we should have at least one slip. Should aim to take wickets and finish them off.

This is such a freaking flat pitch. Had anyone hung around with Klaasen, South Africa would have chased this down. But South Africa's batting was not good enough tonight. Too many soft dismissals.

Yeah it makes no sense. You have selectors who think these guys are good enough for international cricket but domestically they are not worthy of a FC selection? It makes no sense. Even if you think there's some marginal spinner who can perform better in FC than them, if selectors don't think they have a future internationally, why pick them instead of investing in players that can represent Pakistan and making sure you work with them to enhance their skills & ability.

Look at how many SA players have left the nation to pursue a career in a different country, you could have a world xi of players who are South African born who have represented a different country.

The quota system has been a detriment to South Africa.

I am not against it as it gives an opportunity to Black, Coloured and Asian players and when you look at SA it is a 80% black country and barely any representation in the national team

2 more wickets to go.

Run rate wise, SA seem like they are never out of it. They just lose wickets too early.

Bingo. It is something necassary to bring blacks and people of colour into the game after centuries of dominance by the whites.

And as far as the whites are concerned, the people who are greedy will always be greedy. Look at Rilee Roussow. When he got selected to play for South Africa, he failed multiple times including getting four ducks in his first six ODI innings, and even spent a lengthy period of time on the injury list. Despite this, he was backed by the selectors and the team management and specifically told that they saw him as a guy for the future.

And what did he do? Not long after this, he went and signed a Kolpak deal with Hampshire. At the age of 27.

Do you remember before Brexit every single english county team had at least one Kolpak player from SA, and after Brexit they all came running back!

But one issue with the quota system is you end with someone like Bavuma as your Test and Odi Captain🤣
