Continues to "un" inspire with his failures.
Not fit for purpose.
Time for Pakistan to move on.
This guy was topping batting charts in domestic cricket and the media kept the narrative that grave injustice had been committed against him. It just shows the poor standard of our domestic cricket which will not be fixed in one day
He made 158 for Central Punjab in the QEA Trophy today.
Minnow level bowling basher
Minnow basher playing well. Bad for Pak in the long run.
This is the problem with Abid Ali. He scores against the weaker teams creating expectations. He then has failed against all the better teams.
At 34/35 he has already passed his peak.
Credit where it's due, he scored 133, the other 10 batsmen scored 154 combined.
There is nothing stopping King Babar the ace of premier batsman to score a reasonable 100-200 runs against weak bowling. You struggle when the bowling is good, You cash in when the bowling is bad. Abid does this, maybe the others should too?
Let's take a look at Abid Ali's Test record:
AGE 34 YEARS
He has played 15 Tests, and seemingly averages 47.72. But those numbers don't stand up to the slightest scrutiny:
275 runs in 2 Tests v Zimbabwe, average 275.00.
321 runs in 2 Tests v Sri Lanka, average 160.50.
133 runs in 2 Tests v Bangladesh, average 66.50.
So he is terrific against rubbish bowling attacks on dead wickets.
139 runs in 3 Tests v England, average 27.80.
76 runs in 2 Tests v New Zealand, average 19.00.
73 runs in 2 Tests v West Indies, average 18.25
33 runs in 2 Tests v South Africa, average 8.25
So in 9 Tests against decent teams, he has scored a pathetic 321 runs in 17 innings, and his real average against proper teams is actually a pathetic 18.88
He is basically the new Yasir Hameed.
