"I am unable to understand why we aren't making pitches suited for our strengths" : Inzamam-ul-Haq

Inzamam-ul-Haq speaking on his YouTube channel:

"Every country we went to play in, it was never the case that they would make pitches which were against their strengths"

"So, I am unable to understand that why are we not making pitches which are for our strengths"

"What are our strengths? They are reverse swing and spin as these are the two strengths that we have used to beat visiting teams in the past"

"Misbah is Head Coach so he must have an idea of this, as when he was captain, we defeated South Africa and England; How did we do that? Did we make fast pitches? No we made spinning tracks where Yasir and Abdur Rehman would get wickets"

"In my opinion, we are getting worried about 80 run lead from this is a very ordinary Sri Lanka side"

"In the old days, if our fast-bowlers would see grass on the pitch, they would be angry with the groundsman to say that this pitch does not suit us"

"India is such as a strong team in all formats but have you ever seen them make a seaming track for a series at home?"

"The 80 run we conceded was dangerous for us as any decent bowling attack would have blown us away with that lead in place"

Well he has a point but our fast-bowlers are good - we dont have a good spinner!

What Inzi is talking about, SL spinners are better than ours, our fast bowling is marginally better. Over all Karachi test wicket is very good test wicket. Good for fast bowling and equally good for a GOOD batsman, a true wicket and will help spinners in on 4-5 day.

This is best wicket I have seen in Pakistan for long time, made test so enjoyable to watch.

Inzi has lost the plot ever since he’s opened this youtube channel. Talking absolute rubbish.

Srilanka plays spin well and they have good spinners. For reverse swing you need dry wicket and on dry wickets spinners also come into play, so our pacers other than Abbas werent that experienced so expecting them to tear through with reverse was a big ask.

I think vs Srl having a pacer friendly wicket was a good ploy as you expect Abbas, Shaheen and Naseem to be better than Lahiru, Fernando etc. Obviously at the moment Shaheen and Naseem are young so consistency will come with time.

Against Aus, Eng, NZ and SA argument for a spinning and dry track would be completely valid.

He's been losing the plot ever since he was made captain (in 2003). He was responsible for destroying the dressing room culture.

Also took the nearly the entire team to the ICL after retiring from Pakistan cricket and his alleged involvement in "Oath Gate" are just some of the reasons why he's had a toxic influence on Pakistan cricket ever since he was skipper.

If he wasn't sacked as Chief Selector, I can assure you Abid Ali wouldn't have been playing in this series.

former pros literally cant wait to watch pak fail.

first build up team to non-sensical levels, then blame everyone when the team performs to its abilities and below the senseless expectations, claim match fixing, incompetent management, wrong strategy, etc, etc.

pak is a very mediocre test team trying to find its brand of cricket, and i would take this type of pitch over the useless uae type of test cricket any day.

This is a very good pitch!

It is taking turn and has a lot for the seamers too. Unfortunately, we have got an incompetent spinner ,who is getting outbowled by a SL newbie, and pathetic batsmen who can't bat to save their lives on a pitch that offers even the slightest bit to the bowlers.

Creating rank turners won't help us at all as Yasir still won't be able to generate turn and we do not have pacers, other than Shaheen, who can exploit reverse swing.

Agree 100%. This is a good pitch. Only yasir has forgotten how to bowl and our batters have forgotten how to bat. But still only mid way through. Will be interesting to see how it breaks up.

What strengths?

The pitch is fine and more pitches like that are needed anyways in Pakistan to make Cricket more exciting where there's enough swing and enough turn to give good balance between batting and bowling. Pakistan just need to play better.

He must be upset with his nephew's case - finding fault is everything. I actually am not sure if the guy bothers to watch PAK games or not.

This NSK wicket is one of the best I have seen in PAK in many years and this is probably the closest ideal wicket that PAK team can get now. PAK shouldn't play on green tops, on dust bowl, on cracking bouncy tracks ..... I guess, I don't need to explain why; not even absolute batting belters (because batsmen can't take pressure - if any Team wins toss on a belter and post 450+, even some part-timers might hurt PAK batting, just pushing on the scoreboard pressure).

This is the best wicket for PCT, assisted by the fast out-field. On a dry, rough surface (for reverse & spin), this Embu guy and Dilruhan will eat PAK batting lineup as salad without peeper & salt.....

The pitch is fine and sporting. Reason for pakistans 80 run deficeit is because of our pathetic batting not the pitch.

Well maybe because we are not sure ourselves what our strengths actually are??

I get some strange feeling that Inzi is saying all this to defend Yasir Shah's performance (or lack thereof)

I think these are good pitches. Dont agree with inzi here.

Hahahaha

Inzi bhai did not mention which pitch would be suitable for his selected batting lineup, likes of Imam, Azhar, Shafiq, Shan, Shehzad, how would they perform on a pitch where bowl spins alot?

Perhaps cement pitch that we in Karachi used to play tape ball on will be suitable, but how will Imam handle the bounce on cemented surface rofl.

He forgot to mention even on those wickets his selected batting lineup failed to chase 120 runs target in 2017 and made Herath a superstar.

Making a youtube channel and speaking crap won't absolve him for the way he destroyed our national team and became a roadblock to Arthur and Sarfraz decisions. Ehsan Mani support to Inzamam will never be forgotten or forgiven. Even if they prepared a spin track, given the condition Yasir Shah is in would they have been able to utilize such a surface?

Karachi pitch has shown life and its definitely going to spin alot in last 3 days.

Pakistani pitches so far have been sporting and superb compared to the slow, dusty wickets of UAE, one of the reason why Pakistan team needs to play in PAkistan rather than another country.

At least a green wicket provides exciting cricket for the fans. Maybe inzi just prefers matches where both teams score 500 runs plus in their first innings.

English groundsmen often make pitches against the strengths of England players.

What are our Strengths.Yasir ?

Or a Mighty batting in shape of Shan and Two Confused Seniors.
