Big tournament coming up for Sharjeel.
Perhaps a make or break tournament for his international career.
Will he get the runs needed for an international recall?
How will his fitness stack up?
Poor start.
Just 4 runs before he was done by a fine delivery by Hasnain.
The domestic team staff should have been a lot tougher on Sharjeel. They should be the ones refusing to select him with this fitness. In fact the PSL teams should have refused to pick him like this. No IPL team will ever pick such blatantly unfit players.

Sharjeel Khan despite today, I can still understand being called to be tried again by people. He was smashing quality bowlers at one time in internationals.
Azam Khan, I really don’t get it. Doesn’t he only have a handful of games? Worse fitness than Sharjeel? Sharjeel had impeccable timing, and amazing hand eye coordination, so his fitness could’ve been given a pass.
Is Azam just as good or yet another leg side hack ready to be tried out?
And he's now making me look very foolish
5 sixes and a four later, he is now 45 from 27. Incredible turnaround
Wasted his peak years. I am a big fan of his but I think he may not make it in international cricket any more due to his age because his game is all reflexes.
He's easily a few levels above on Azam Khan but I will say what I've said about Azam - he needs to improve his fitness.
Sharjeel during this PSL has been struggling running between the wickets and his fielding has been poor at times.
Hopefully he keeps performing lets see how many runs and what strike hes at the end of the tournament.

"Fitness is not the only yardstick for selection because at the end of the day, players have to play cricket; When we spoke about Sharjeel before, his performance wasa little patchy; But when it comes to T20 cricket, then you need to decide whether with his current fitness can he win games for Pakistan or not? So we had a meeting and we decided that yes, Sharjeel has to work on his fitness and we hope he will improve on his fitness but at the moment, he can win big matches with his batting alone" : Mohammad Wasim
The 112kg isn't as much of a problem as his tainted past, making him another one in a long line of Pakistani players welcomed back to the team after indulging in corruption.
If I'm not wrong, he was acquited of all charges? If that's the case then he has a clean slate.

Then why was he banned?
If you want to take Sharjeel's wicket, hold him on strike and bowl it wide. Yes, he has power, but he also faced a lot of scorecard pressure. In that hundred he hit, he almost got out quite a lot of times.
He needs to improve fitness to improve rotation of strike.
certainly agree we are forgiving fitness at times which is wrong.
Poor fitness is a major issue in sports, especially cricket. For one, Sharjeel can't be relied upon to take quick singles in tense situations (say the team lost two quick wickets in the PP, and there's a newcomer on strike. Sharjeel can't take the quick singles to get on strike, and that would result in dot ball pressure. This is a specific example, but I think you understand.)
Sharjeel has time to work on his fitness before the WT20, and he should look to do that. It will help him immensely.
We need Sharjeel back. Opening combo of Sharjeel and Fakhar at T20 WC is going get us 10rpo.
Been looking forward to this opening pair since Fakhar burst onto the scene in 2017. Sharjeel and Fakhar is our ideal batting combination at the top of the order for T20s atleast. Any chance of us being competitive in the face of a big total, is entirely dependent on this opening pair.Am not to sure sharjeel and fakhar will open i dont think misbah would take that risk but i hope they do.

I also don’t think we’ll see Sharjeel and Fakhar opening, but for a different reason. Babar won’t want it to happen. It’ll put his place in the team at risk. Babar can only play as an opener, and he’ll only be good for the first 10 overs, after that he’s pretty much useless, he only has 1 gear.

Wasim Akram speaking to the media:
“Yeah, he does [struggle in few areas of the game]. Obviously fielding, you have to hide him in the field. He immediately goes to short fine-leg when he is fielding"
“I told him in PSL as well that you have to change your game. As a bowler, if I’m bowling to Sharjeel, I know that I’m only going to get hit if I bowl a bad ball or he plays an exceptional shot. That’s where the problem with Sharjeel is, there is no in-between as he plays his shots while standing still all the time"
“As a bowler, if you keep taking the ball away from him by bowling short of a good length, it becomes difficult for the batsman to score. Sharjeel doesn’t charge down the wicket, make room or go towards the off-side while batting. I hope Sharjeel works on this"
