Speaking in a recent interview:

"There are people who try to run cricket like football. Many nations are doing it. They will realise what they've done when they complete the calendar. They will realise that if your captain isn't strong, your team can't progress. I haven't interfered in the team selections, even though I can do it. It is my right"

"I know the strategies, I know our match-winners. But when you offer accountability and freedom to operate, the players can take the team further up with performances. You can't run cricket sitting on sidelines. It won't be a successful model. We have created a positive environment. Everyone knows I am a phone call away if there are any problems. As an ex-cricketer, I know the issues players might face, so it is important to create that sort of environment"

who asked the question here? Also interested to know what players are being referred to? as clearly Ramiz got on the defensive with his answer.

What a blatant lie

He kept Sharjeel Khan out of the side for no reason!

Would be more interesting if the interviewer had been brave enough to name the players they were trying to point out.

Clearly there are certain players who seem to be in team who shouldnt be. Thats pakistan cricket all the time.

There will always be players picked in and around the team who shouldn't be there in the first place but it has always been the case since decades and will continue to be.

I think for the most part, the selections have been a lot better than in the past but as you said, there's always some odd selections and that is Pakistan cricket all the time. People can quibble with a name here & there but that's what happens when you're not a settled top side. Pakistan keep trying literally everyone in LOI to fix their middle order issues but the questions still remain.

People may be upset with Salman making his debut but he has performed domestically and can bowl as a right handed off-spinners; an area Pakistan are desperate for. It's understandable why they went with him and it's clear they are missing Hafeez.

I hope what Ramiz has said is true. I am sure Ramiz gives his input or opinions as well but ultimately, the call comes down to the selector to select the squad he thinks is best. That's how it should be.

Yeah, he did. Not because hes unfit, has a terrible work ethic and has not worked on himself at all in all these years!
