I agree we lost but the self belief was good to see. We have lost too many times to Aus because we just couldn't believe we could beat them. This match makes me believe we can come back and win the series 2-1 despite the loss.

You haven't seen it, because unfortunately you played against the toughest Australian team of all times.

I bet you would have rolled this Australian team over much quicker.

Aussie 80 sides were very weak.

Pakistan 80s side was arguably in top 5 sides of all time.

We still lost

Dear Wasim Akram.

Seen it?

You did it!

In the 1989-90 Test at Adelaide you did this, but better!

Pakistan 257 all out (top scorer Wasim Akram, 52)
Australia 341 all out (Wasim Akram 5-100)
Pakistan then collapsed to 22-4 (still 62 behind.

Wasim Akram came to the crease with Pakistan 90-5, effectively 6-5.

And then Wasim Akram scored 123, while Imran Khan scored 136, to set up a declaration for Pakistan at 387-9, setting Australia 304 to win in 83 overs. The match was drawn.

Yours sincerely,

Junaids

Not happy with all these moral victories. Need to get it together in the next.

We have played better then Aus after 1st two days ... that's a positive trend. In Eng, we had played better then Eng overall, just 1 bad session cost us the series win and ended up with 2-2 draw.

What this moral victory will do is infuse much needed self belief in our batsmen that they can score runs against this attack. We'll see better outcomes.

The 1983-84 tour was played with Imran Khan suffering from stress fractures of the shin. There were no serviceable fast bowlers at all - Wasim Akram was 15 months away, Waqar Younis was 6 years away and even Saleem Jaffer had not yet debuted.
