What's new

I think the challenges that Babar is currently facing, as well as those faced by Pakistan, could potentially be beneficial for the future.

I think it is good that the Humiliation that Babar is getting as well Pakistan is good for at least the future.

No i am not repeating that it's blessing for us but looking at history, this kind of defeats has got rid of many useless lot.

To me anyone can screenshot that 4 players are just going to play there last 4 games.

1) Nawaz
2) Harris Rauf
3) Usama Mir
4) Imam.

Remember when where Imran Farhat (Father in law) did the same when he was the selector and now Inzi is doing, and i am sure he will resign.

I remember same experiment was done with Azhar Ali and than Sarfarz was the made the captain due to Azhar made babar like blunders and at least we had 2 years positive because we brought new players and removed dud.

Don't think that new captain will bring any magic but what i think that removing 4 or 5 in current playing will be good as it has exposed

And which 5 players would come in for dud players? I’m not seeing any players better than the current lot in our domestic leagues.

This is another Groundhog Day. There will be a lot of talk of reforms and changes, but in the end, mediocrity will be promoted. People shouldn’t lose their time on this & instead just sit back and enjoy the ride.

As Memon, says: “we deserve this humiliation” 😂

I mean this is a fair point, but the problem is that we did not give chances to anyone to even really rule anyone out.

Question marks remain over what guys like Saim, Tayyab, Aamir Jamal, Abrar, Mohammad Haris, Ihsanullah, Zaman Khan and perhaps a few others could offer the white ball side with a prolonged run.

But we never gave any of them a decent try because Babar was obsessed with playing every series like it was do or die.

Now that Babar’s captaincy is done the next one needs to be told that it is fine to lose a couple of games or even a few series.

There is no point in a fake lumber 1 ranking when other teams have played their B and C sides and it has only strengthened them when it matters.

None of the players you mentioned had terrific domestic season ever so what can you expect from them?

These guys are easily replaceable with young ones (who have played domestic seasons)

Nawaz ------ Mubasir khan
Haris rauf ------ ihsanullah when he's fit
Usama ------ Abrar
Imam ------- Huraira/Saim

Yeah. You’re not wrong.

It’s all pretty slim pickings at the moment in terms of talent.

The cupboard is empty. We are lucky that the likes of Rizwan, Babar and Shaheen keep us from being ranked with the associates.

Yep that will something bring marginal improvement

Sohaib Mailk pointed this out that Babar was never to removed as captain and instead he was chasing spot and ranking and his team followed the same pattern. He said and look where it got us? He said did anyone from Fans or PCB did the analysis that why Imam 50s mostly are never hit with boundaries? He said this was bound to happen every player is not on role but for spot and ranking.

The truth is guys, we don’t have good enough spinners anywhere in Pakistan. On this pitch I figured that Usama Mir and Shadab Khan would actually make it work, but man they have no clue how to set up a batsmen. I gave them way too much credit.

Changing captain will not transform Abdullah and Imam in to Warner or Sharma nor it will transform Shadab and Usama in to Rashid and Mujeeb and definitely won’t transform Rauf and Hasan Ali to Bhumrah and Siraj.

Babar, his clique, the PCB management and the coaching staff are all dheet.

They all knew what they were heading into. No one stopped Babar from doing whatever he wanted.

Nothing will change afterwards either

There’s a lot of weaknesses all the way through. Sad reality is ODIs are dead after this. This is how we will remember the format.

Shoaib Mailk answer to this question was that Hafeez was a made star by Shahid Afridi and Sarfarz also made some players. It's captain job to think what role wants and what kind of players he wants. He cannot just say that i want best wicket takers and best average batsman. He said it does not work like that he said look at India, they did not made Shami play 3 matches and than they brought him to play 4th because it suited the role for India on that pitch. He said Pakistan need's a tecnhical analyis, which all team has.

Don't worry PSL superstars will continue to minnow bash for another 4 years and arrive at the next world cup with bellies and plenty of cake :ROFLMAO:

Remember when they toured Netherlands for a few games? The entire first team squad went for a holiday.

I don't see the required attitude in fielding by the team. The focus should be on ball instead of other thoughts. We are missing the proactiveness while fielding," Babar Azam said during PC after loss

There is something cooking up in the team!

Fair enough, but Hafeez knew how to bowl tight even when he wasn’t wicket taking. I remember when our fast bowling was weak, Misbah used to choke the other team with Afridi, Ajmal, and Hafeez - a skill that Shadab and Usama just don’t have.

Sohaib mailk also pointed out that Itkhar and Shahdab are very weak in batting. He said that you will found out remaining of these 4 matches by comparing other team. He said if you look at other team at this slot they are coming to win you matches and bowlers of team are in defend mode and but when our these batsman come out play, opposition bowlers are in a joy because they it's walking wicket.

One good thing is that Babar will be removed as captain after WC, but worse thing is that we will see our current coaches will be sacked and we will see again Misbah back as head coach.. thay will be the worst thing that can happen to Pakistan but it will eventually happen that Misbah will come back as our coach.. we will see a repeat where Misbah as head of technical comittee will remove Mickey Arthur and then will come back as head coach

Come on! Don't change tagline.

It's blessings in disguise.

Go that route. You are not authorised to change the slogan

Why stop there? Waqar is in India, let’s see if we can’t get him to bowl a few overs in the next game
What would you like then? You want to keep the same team.

I’m not saying the players above are necessarily the correct ones, but this cop out excuse of “there’s no one better” does no good either. Even if there is no one better, let’s give the alternates a chance. Why reward failure.

All we do is reward failure and we keep failing!

Apologies as my post was a bit tongue in cheek. I do want Imad to come back and play a leadership role with the white ball sides.

Sharjeel on the other hand is absolutely done and everyone can see that a mile off. Let's not even bother discussing him again as he roundly humiliated himself and his supporters at the last PSL.

Haris Sohail is actually one of the few players who we did manage to replace. Saud has been a decent relevation and should be persisted with.

I don't think it is just a personnel issue. Babar is an insipid captain. The refusal to rotate led to complacency and overfamiliarity creeping in. The bashing of F and G sides created a delusional atmosphere.

We need a different team but the thing i would overhaul would be the approach rather than all the players.

Things will get worse not better. Look at the WCs since 1999. There is a common theme and that is- we aren't very good. We could go ultra positive but that could end in lots blood baths.
They’ve tried to be positive. They just end up leaking wickets.

If someone just grit their teeth and scored 100 maybe we’d have beaten Australia, but too many batsmen got in and got themselves out through playing bad lofted shots.

Which brings us back to your original point. They just aren’t good enough.

Saud’s role is to score an elegant 25. As a matter of fact I have been told it is in his contract.
Without that 68 against the Netherlands, he would be averaging 18.66 @ 79 SR after 10 ODI matches played. That’s a real elegant player.

I do not know how old the OP is, but this is exactly what I am talking about when I say the fans do not help.

To suggest that is is a good idea for the Captain of the national team to be humiliated just sums up what is wrong with the Pakistan fan base. Today's defeat was not a humiliation, you want humiliation, try Pakistan vs Bangladesh in 1999 WC.

Babar does not deserve humiliation, he has served Pakistan extremely well as a batsman, and has made some factions of the the fans and nation proud, but there is no doubt that his days as captain are indeed numbered.

Rather than humiliating the captain, or wishing humiliation upon him, all he needs is a talking to step down as captain, and I think his father is the best person to do so.

There is no shame or humiliation in stepping down as captain, many players have done so, only to go on playing better!
