"I will continue working hard and not bow down to negativity" : Saud Shakeel

Im sure someone said he is Shakeel Sheikhs son but the post got deleted... can anyone confirm? Genuinely curious...

Weak shot today.

strike-rate of 84 in the 50 over format.

Is ODIs really a strong format for him?

Brainless selection

He is a Test player not a LOI player.

Look at his FC stats and LOI stats . The whole pcb and team management and selectors are brain dead at this point

SR of 84 is actually a good benchmark for Pakistani middle order batters considering how low the SR of our domestic batters are. Apart from Babar, I am yet to see anyone who bats at 85+ SR in LA.

Saud looks a very limited player nonetheless. Haris Sohail was much better than him.

I feel for him. Modern odi teams have 2 accumulators max 3 at best. Our side is loaded with accumulators at top imam, Babar, rizwan, Saud. When the top order consumes 20 to 30 overs getting their own 50s without taking any risk and leave you with 8 to 10 rpo to chase you will not get any time to settle and play your normal game. Whether he is talented is not even the question, whether pakistan needs yet another accumulator is the question.

Ideally even imam should be replaced with shan masood who has improved as a striker and in t20 format proved it. Getting 50 on batting track power play against second string attack is bigger offense then people being asked to change 8 to 10 and over for last 20 overs and failing.

He is not an ODI player. Especially for someone batting at Number 4 or below you need to have the capability to hit sixes, which he doesn't have. Haris Sohail on one leg is far better than him.

Another awful player. He hasn’t got the game for Limited overs cricket. Basically another Fawad Alam. Like we needed more of him.

Powerpoint selector has got it wrong.

It’s like England picking Dom Sibley in ODi cricket

Feel for the players he should have played in the test team against Bangladesh or Australia

Haven't seen him bat much but is a gun fielder

Yes very good fielder like Imran Butt.

To me, he looks more of a Test batter though than a white-ball player.

What happened to the vacancy of POWER HITTING COACH.

Ramiz Raja was right in bringing a power hitting coach both at the academy and national team level. Players like Saud, Imam, Khusdil and other fringe players would immensely benefit from learning a few new tricks.

It has been a long time but no one seems to either be appointed/interested.

Happy birthday to Saud, turns 26 today! Five international appearances for Pakistan.
6,385 runs and 55 wickets in domestic cricket

Congratulations to Saud Shakeel for leading Sindh to become champions of National T20 Cup

I’m convinced our chairman and selector don’t actually watch or pay attention to the domestic competition

Sindh captain Saud Shakeel made his 12th first-class century against Northern at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.

The left-hander was unbeaten on 112 off 228 balls and had smashed 10 fours. He added 92 runs for the second wicket with opener Khurram Manzoor (58 off 113) and 88 with Omair Bin Yousuf (36 off 105).

Sindh were 279 for four and Saud will be joined by Saad (11 not out) when the play resumes on Tuesday.

Him and Ghulam. Hopefully we see them both playing together for pakistan in the England and Newzealand tests.

150 up for Saud on Day 2

Saud top-scores for Sindh with 158

Can we have him in the middle order in Australia

I'm sure they'll pick him in T20s after he scores a load of runs in the QeA Trophy.

given how less we give importance to test cricket , i think everyone is eyeing a t20 spot. Opens up gates for Psl and other leagues , a lot of money.

13th FC hundred for Saud

So Saud in the AFG series squad - good performances could see him in the WC squad too?

Babar should definitely test him against afghan spinners .If he succeeds take him to asia cup and worldcup.

I like Saud and have always rated him.

Is he a limited overs batter? I'm not so sure.

It seems like we pick players for some formats when they are doing well in other formats which has always been rather bizarre.

He’s a good player but think he’s better suited for the test format otherwise there are too many of the same type of batsmen in our team.

Instead, I would like to see Abdullah Shafiq bat at 4 as an experiment. While he’s a timer more than a slogger, I feel he has the ability to accelerate faster vs Imam Babar and Rizwan.
