"I would pick Naseem Shah as my bowling partner as he is young and bowls at 150KpH" : Wasim Akram

Wasim Akram speaking on a PCB video:

"I have been asked that which player from the past I would like to pair with"

"Obviously, I have bowled alongside Imran Khan, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar and Abdul Razzaq but there are 2 other bowlers who come to my mind; One is Sarfraz Nawaz who invented Reverse Swing, the other is the hero of The Oval - Fazal Mahmood"

"As a left-armer who could swing the ball, I would have liked to paired with Fazal Mahmood as his leg-cutter was very famous especially on a matting wicket"

"I had a great pairing with one of the World's best bowlers, Waqar Younis"

"If I were to pick a youngster from today, I would pick up a right-armer and its got to be Naseem Shah; He is young, fast as he bowls at 150KpH+, and he will get faster in the future too"

I personally don't like all the Pathan players hanging out together on tour like Naseem, Shaheen, Yasir, Imran, Iftikhar. They should mix with the others. In the past England footballers were criticised as the black players all used to sit together when eating.

Anyway, back on the cricket. He has genuine pace has Naseem. But he is not 16 or 17 or whatever it is.

What a compliment! To be told by the GOAT left armer that he would love to have you as his right arm modern bowling partner. Naseem needs all the support he can get, he’s going through a very tough time with the loss of his mother. Glad to see all the seniors complimenting him, Shaheen taking him under his wing as a younger brother, and his blossoming friendship with Hasnain at the Gladiators. Really one for the future, I hope he doesn’t go the way of past youngsters.

He needs to be carefully mentored And his workload looked after

Theres been plenty of examples in the recent past where young talented players have left to it with little support and made a mess of their fairly young careers

Hes very likely to get overbowled and injured or just not being able to handle fame and getting involved in nefarious activities

Pcb needs to ensure this talent doesnt go by the wayside like many others

Our fast-bowling is in pretty safe hands.

The two Shah’s will wreak havoc once they are at their best.

On a side note, Naseem’s bowling action is so eye pleasing.

This is a really major compliment for Naseem. I hope it doesn't get to his head.

Somehow it doesnt work out that way. Brainless players, poor management, injuries and lest we forget, the bookies will all have a say.

I pray Naseem stays fit for the vast majority of the next decade and a half.

The only two things, barring injuries that will stop Naseem Shah from succeeding are:

- his work ethic
- his mentality

In terms of work ethic, every great has had a tremendous work ethic. You can see the modern day greats such as Kohli and Stokes for example. Even Babar.

In terms of mentality, I mean he musn't let any sort of success get to his head or ever think he his bigger than the game. People like Hassan Ali and Fakhar Zaman were matchwinners for a very short period of time because they let their success get to their heads. Every youngster should see people like them as what NOT to be like.

Shaheen and Naseem are our future. I really pray and hope they stay away from all controversies and keep their head on the ground.

Naseem: We have had so many fast-bowling legends. If I picked one to bowl alongside, I'd choose Wasim bhai for the left-right combination. Currently, I'd pick Shaheen.

They have to be managed properly. Also, a sufficient fast bowling bench strength needs to be developed, for all of our bowlers to stay fit and hungry for success.

Yes I hope Misbah guides them well as a mentor.

One thing is for sure Misbah won’t let these youngsters do “illegal” acts...

Agree.

We have so many young bowlers and everybody has the potential to make it big.

So decisions need to be made about workload management - this could also guarantee that every fast bowler gets a chance to play.

sharjeel

no one can stop a grown man

Both Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar have put Naseem as their partner - something very special about him

Nice to see such mutual respect

Wasim akram passed the baton onto shoaib akhtar who passed it onto wahab riaz
Naseem shah seems to be the fourth runner of the quadology
