What's new

ICC CT 2017, 1st Semi-final | England v Pakistan | 14th June, 2017 | Cardiff | Pakistan Innings

Hasan took 3 wickets

3 wickets = 60 runs

Azhar has 72 runs

Azhar has 76 from 100 balls and now out.

If hasan hadnt performed the way he did, such a slow strike rate would have been detrimental to the chase. I am saying this because Azhar would have batted at the same strike rate no matter what score they had to chase.

less than 40 runs left, Babar needs to step up and finish this in the next 5-6 overs before Hafeez starts messing this up

send a message to Ind/Bangla... this is where the killer instinct comes in

Yessss ..... England thought it was just a formality ..... they just had to show up and claim a win !!!!

Pretty much the same situation as the 1983 WC semis between England and India. Before the match the English media was already taking a win as granted and talking about the final against WI.

Whenever hafeez comes to the crease babar goes in his shell. Lets see what happens today.

I have a question - more or less, whenever I have heard in PTv sports or read any article on PAK cricket, everyone is convinced that pace, bounce & swing is the nemesis of PAK team. Players can't hit pace, can't handle bounce & can't survive swing; while bowlers need reverse swing & spinners need wickets to dart on .....

Now, I always believed that UAE is the worst place for a team with core strengths like PAK - which Buzurgs don't agree & hence they have found a Gary Sobers out of MoHa & a Richie Benaud in Afridi ..........

Comments ............

PS: History tells, opposite - every big thing (& ICC Final) is in AUS, ENG or SAF - and SF is highest reach in Asia .....

After all the talk of 'thinking' to promote Sarfraz and Malik by Mickey, it's Hafeez at 4.

Should have sent Fakhar wearing a Hafeez mask to end this quickly and put England out of their misery.

Azhar played well, good innings. Will be confident for the final. Babar getting into some form too - hopefully Hafeez will behave, known for running people out whilst batting.

That stumping would have been the end of Hafeez's career, now he'll go on to cement his place for another two years with a meaningless knock.

Man of the match is Hassan Ali without a doubt. His bowling was the main reason we're chasing such a low total. Not to mention he picked up the wickets of Bairstow, Morgan and Stokes. Any player who scores runs in a low scoring chase comes second.
