What's new

ICC CT 2017 : Group A | Bangladesh [268/5] beat New Zealand [265/8] by 5 wickets [Kiwis knocked out]

Three days on the trot with an underdog victory.

And they said BD/Pak/SL may struggle to win even a single match in the tourney.

India are you watching???????????????????????????

It's good to see kids performing good, it fills our heart with joy :srini

great great knock from the clutch player......and cograts to all bangladeshi brothers..

Congrats to BD and BD fans, top performance, Riyadh rubs the floor with Mushi and Sabbir in ICC tourneys.

There'll be ups and downs in Bangladesh's journey but that's part of any team's development.

There was an era where BD simply looked to compete. Then there was an era where the aim was respectable defeat. That was followed by an era where they looked for the occasional upset. Then they would get into winning positions but fail to close games out.

Now ? They can go toe to toe with ANY team in the world and are learning how to finish teams off. No premature celebrations. Congratulations to their fans, an exciting time for BD cricket.

Congratulations to bangla fans here.

commiserations to Aman and @leatherface

Now for Bangladesh to qualifiy for the semis the ball is in England's court.

Done!

Alhumdulillah.

Whatever happens tomorrow, well done for today. We could have been out if it didnt rain that day. Lucky to still have a chance. Well done Bangladesh

Thanks everyone! Was fun :D

Congrats Bangladeshi fans! Well deserved victory. Wish we had batsmen like Shakib and Mahmudullah , Outstanding performance.

Look at the fighting spirit of Bangladeshi cricketers. Azhar, Hafeez, Shehzad, Malik should retire in shame after looking at these performances this is how you play in modern cricket selflessly playing for your country.

So the teams apparently just making numbers have now won 3 matches in 3 days. Happy that Bangladesh has joined club. Congrats all Bangla fans!

Bangladeshi Posters unite we need to drop Sabbir & Soumya

Your only other top order option is Kayes. Frankly, Sabbir and Soumya are better players than him, just out of form. However, I do think they were playing one batsman too less today. No batting after Mosaddek at 7. That lineup is too thin. Need to include Mehedi Hassan.

Congrats Bangladesh.
This was awesome especially after 33/4. Putting up a 200 run partnership is no small feat.
But NZ bowling became quite pedestrian after the initial southee/boult spell. and NZ were atleast 20-30 runs short.

Kayes!!! Man i hate that guy more than Ashraful, slow in the field, drops catches, plays like a snail and most of his runs are from edges. Got a free ticket to England, should be his last tour.

Soumya looks out of touch and can't play pace or swing, he looks scared. Soumya needs to take martial arts class and come back stronger like Bruce Wayne or else I am seeing another Alok Kapali. Replace him with superstar of the country 'Liton Kumar Das'

Sabbir looks confident in the field but gets out every time - I think his List A average justifies that he ain't meant for ODI's. He's a T20 specialist. Replace him with Animal Haque Bijoy or left handed kid in under 19 who played along with Miraz, that kid can bat

Just hate the way they celebrate after winning, be humble

This is humility. Not joking at all.

When you're not used to winning as a matter of course, you will have exaggerated over the top responses.

When you expect to win every time you can cruise to big wins and just look bored, like the Indian team does some times.

Amazing win. The biggest gain for Bangladesh from this match is the amount of mental-strength and self-belief pulling off a chase like this gives to the boys going forward.

Thanx aman bhai. You deserved it but rain ruined your party.
Nope, this team is rubbish.

I said they wouldn't win a game from the first game, I'm not surprised they finished without a single win.

Kane may have scored runs, but he was awful as leader and his faith in duds is a reason why they're heading home early.

Thanks brother Aman, never expected us to win when we were 33/4
It was always on, once the new ball goes and the ball isn't moving around, the bowlers usually struggle to take wickets. But fair play to Bangladesh for handling the pressure and chasing it down so easily.

I had to sleep so missed it but well done to Bangladesh. NZ should of put up 300 with the platform they had but credit to Bangladesh for restricting them and then the big partnership to chase it down.

Very dissapointing to lose but honestly im a little glad. The selectors need a wake up call. We have the core of a good team but there is 3 or 4 guys that bring nothing to the table.

Next game is in November, this will all be forgotten and nothing will change....

I've gotten to the point where I don't care how bad Ryder may be now, he can't be worse than a lot of what gets into the side today...

Yeah well done to sri lanka, didn't expect lanka to win either, but still lanka is a proud cricketing nation with a glorious history, so it was wrong of me to underestimate them, bangladesh on the other hand have been minnows their entire life, don't expect bangladesh to even put up a fight, lanka > bangladesh anyways

Hahaha they put up more than just a fight.

Representing Asia from Group A. If England wins or Eng-Aus wash out, they we may see three Asian teams in the semis. :)

Come on Rain, do your thing tomorrow.

Wait a minute BD have 3 points and if it rains then AUS will also have 3 points. That means it'll come down to NRR. Is BD's runrate better than AUS?

First tie breaker isn't NRR, rather no. Of wins. For that ENG is already group leaders (regardless of what margin Aussies best then if so).

In case of wash out AUS has 0 win, BD 1

From being 20 minutes from heading home to knocking on the doors of semis. This tournament for BD is going just like 92 WC for Pak. BD have also notched up an inspiring victory against NZ like Pak did in the semi. All that is left is if BD get to play the next match Murtaza comes to the toss wearing a cornered tiger shirt. LOL

I remember Anamul Haque, that kid seemed to be brimming with potential. What happened to him? And whenever I've seen Litton Das play, he hasn't looked better than Sabbir to me. I might be mistaken, though, but I do follow Bangladesh's matches closely whenever they play a series against the top sides.

Awesome performace by the Deshis, great to watch after being 33 for 4

Anamul is very much in the radar of selectors. He has played really well in domestic circuit. But he couldnt find his place against the trio of Tamim,Imrul and Soumya. Personally I will bat for Tamim and Soumya.

MMHS are you trying not to post so you don't jinx it?

That 90 minutes delay had spoiled my day - took a day off, but first it was Jumma & then domestic service :( Watched the game, but with hands busy ...........finally went for a chauffeur's duty ............

I actually don't believe in jinx.

Soumya has a lot of potential and is a flashy player, but if he's not scoring runs, I'd rather have a guy like Anamul in the team. What do you make of Litton Das though?
