I appreciate you having respect for his knock but the truth is, some of his shots on the off-side have been a treat to watch.
 
I wouldn't mind if we select Balochistan's openers in the Pakistan Cup in Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman for the national team.

Those two batted exceptionally well together in that tournament and it'd be a left-right combination.
 
I hope he gets a fifty atleast. You never know with Inzi. He might get dropped in the next series to include Shehzad back in the side.
 
if Shehzad hadn't been dropped, they would been 23-2 after 10 overs right now

Azhar and Fakhar have played exactly the same amount of balls, 5 overs each. Interesting where each of their scores are.
 
I never thought id see the day when pak batters will force the other team to make mistakes due to scoring rate pressure... Atleast not with azhar/hafeez/shehzad opening the batting ahhahahaha

My rule of thumb: if you can't score in domestic cricket vs weaker bowling, there is no hope of success for you in International cricket.
 
Azhar rotates strike! Now that the new ball has been seen off he will escalate his game to his amazing strike rate of 75. Or maybe he'll just join the party and realize there are runs to be had.
 
Both Fakhar and Azhar have faced 31 balls.

Fakhar's SR is 140. Azhar's is 54.

Went for Aftaari, was afraid atleast 2 wickets might have gone down by the time I'm back but what a pleasant surprise, Fakhar has raced along while AA is still bating at snail's pace.
 
Good to see him not doing sajda and taking his helmet off. A fifty should be celebrated like a fifty, not a century.
 
Maiden fifty for leg-side hack who was supposed to struggle against anyone bowling more than 130 clicks.

He has improved his technique considerably, playing more on top hand & has changed a bit of his stance & grip, which is helping him to play cuts. Something must have worked out with Arthur - I did mention that in the small inning against SAF, but obviously you couldn't raise above your usual self.............
 
Brilliant, he didn't feel the need to kiss helmet, do a sajdah, blow kiss to his wife and etc after a 50. Top innings.
 
Fakhar's MINDSET is his best part. He is constantly hungry for runs. He's intelligent and knows the situation and the limitations of his partner. Azhar for his part has gotten himself in and is trying to do his best to play to the situation. I know he's not perfect, he's not an ODI opener, but today he is managing to do what he needs to do. I will never question his fitness and work ethic, just his skills.
 
Good innings. He's done his part, in fact, more than his part because of how much pressure Azhar put on him.

This is what happens when you have quality coaches like Arthur and Flower.

Under previous regimes they'd have just got Fakhar to run more laps around the ground to overcome his technical issues.

Important the scorecard doesn't pull the wool over the team management's eyes. We can do better than this with another explosive opener.
 
Lol at PP experts who are now defending their "analysis" by suggesting that Mickey and Flower completely turned around Fakhar's technique in a matter of couple of weeks.
