It would be amazing for Pakistan if Sri lanka win this or it gets washed out. Then our game against them will be a quarter final

SL have got their best chance to beat India.Conditions should suit seam bowling and they are bowling first plus with some prediction of rain DLS can come into play, but still feel India will beat them 9 out of 10 times on any pitch.

Would be wary of Lankan team in these conditions, they rely on swing, can anyone confirm if it's swinging?

Now with SL winning the toss we could be in for a good game. Had they lost it then they could have been bundled out cheaply in these bowling conditions.

good batting practise for Lanka and bowling practise for India...

ANyway game wont be completed...lol

Game will not be washed out...only first inning will be affected. Weather after 2 pm is not bad.

Want to see a century from one of the openers.

Don't see any swing but I just started watching from 8th over not sure if there was any swing at the start.. Seeing malinga bowled a few overs he doesn't swing anyways

Rotating strike very well

This is something which this current breed of Indian batsmen have got in their Arsenal now.. Apart from big hitting they rotate strike and take quick singles so pressure gets released.. Gotta credit players and coaching staff for this

How does this game impact the group possibilities?

I am only watching our group closely.

Wasting power play is our birth right: Rohit and dhawan. :))

India playing as per the Game Plan, play slowly in first power-play and build platform for later stages. Recent results show that Ind is one of the most consistent team :kohli2

Man I swear Rohit is a very Salman butt-esque batsman. Play very slow and later goes boom boom. We ain't winning against tough teams on belters with such tuk tuk. :))

I am very curious to see our fielding more than anything else. Hope we are not as abysmal as that day.

Full flowing rohit can accelerate at a 200+ strike rate on flat tracks, he can go from 60 (85) to 150 (125) easily..

Its better to score at the rate of 5 if other team is bowling good and not to loose any wicket.

Steady start. One end little slower than the other. Still, 350 is on here. The batsmen haven't been in trouble once. .

IND 86/0 (17.0 Ovs) CRR: 5.06

SL need wickets.. If this goes on... India will set an un-chaseable target

 Like a filmmaker making same formula film again and again - AND scoring a blockbuster hit every time.

India peaking too early, will backfire this time around.

While I agree but our openers have a habit of playing slow even on belters and leave for lower order to provide acceleration. They have capacity to accelerate later in innings but if they get out early then it leaves a more stiffer task for kohli and co.

In Gauti/Sehwag era we use to get 100 by 16th/17th over at most and other used to take time to settle a bit here its other way around.

Couldn't agree more, defn don't agree with this approach in all scenarios, which seems to be the case,in today's scenario wickets matter so it's ok the way they are going but have a feeling any good side will suffocate out openers.

Want to see a reincarnation of bradman ?
Play lanka and have Rohit as opener. :uakmal

They are just slow starters in ODI mate, even in IPL if Warner fires Dhawan plays a slow run a ball innings.. That's just how these two players are.. Maybe they can do something to improve it

Yes, earlier dhawan used to provide acceleration at the start which allowed Rohit to play slow but dhawan has gone into shell for some time and that has affected us adversely. However, Dhawan seems to striking at much better rate recently and hope he finds his way back as the value of putting bowlers under the pump is very underrated, as that can make them lose their line and lenght while slow starts like ours allow the bowlers to get into rhythm.
